Very comfortable, great shock absorption, waterproof shoes

I had my eye on these for a while, mostly due to the colors being so different from my other HOKAs. Thought they would tie in nicely with fall colors (ex.: Wine and Gray), which they do. When some Bean Bucks became available, I decided to try them on in the store and am glad that I did because I usually take size 8-1/2 in HOKA and most other brands but in this case found that size 9 was more comfortable. It may be that the toe box is not quite as wide as in my others, but sizing up did not cause them to slip on the heel so it may be that this particular version happens to run a bit shorter. The GORE-TEX material and non-skid soles will come in handy with winter approaching. I've only worn them for a few days and have already received compliments on them!

I've shopped for Hokas for a while but this pair fits the bill.

I found Hoka about 3 years ago due to right knee problem. I started with the Bondi 7 and loved those shoes, but they stopped making those and I didn't like any that came after that. I saw these Challenger on sale somewhere and bought them - I thought wow - these are for hiking? They seem like you can wear them everyday! I found myself wearing these more than the Bondi which are kind of clunky. These have nice height and padding in them for my knees. These "hiking" shoes with the lugs on the bottom are perfect for not slipping - I don't want to slip and fall on this bad knee! I just bought the all black ones to wear with jeans - they are comfortable, durable, and feel great to walk all day! I've been waiting for more colors, but there are none except for that awful new blue! And, there is the "new Challenger 8" but the heel to toe ratio is 8 - I stick with the 4-5 mm for my knees. Hopefully, there will be more Challenger GTX 7 in new colors in the future - I would like to also see a black with white bottom.

Super comfy, the colors are cool, and I can wear them all day without my feet hurting at night. Love them.

I have knee problems that can cause balance issues. I can wear these shoes for walking for longer periods with great stability and no foot pain. I wish there were more of the bright colors.

Light and Comfortable

Pair felt like they were custom made or already broken in when put on first time.

They are very comfortable, I walk with them everyday, I love it.

These shoes are great on all kinds of terrain! I've worn them on gravelly or grassy trails, road-running, hiking, & dog-walking, and my feet have always stayed dry. I have normal-width feet but I've been wearing a metatarsal pad on one foot and there is enough room in the toe box that they are still comfortable. Size-wise I normally wear a 7 in Brooks Adrenaline and got a 6.5 in these and to me they feel about the same in length, and slightly wider/roomier in the toe box.
