The shoe is cute but very uncomfortable. The foot bed was very hard with no arch support.

My previous Challenger was so comfortable, similar sole profile/height as the Clifton with great tread.
The new ones I just received are nothing like my previous shoe. This used to be for trail running. Heel height is much too high creating instability. Higher than Arahi. No waterproofing at toe area. Treead not as robust. Definitely not made as well. Have been wearing a Challenger for a few years (purchased each year) and was the perfect trail shoe. Am sending back and will have to get something more fitting to trail running. Disappointing.

Very slippery sole where the centre part of the heel it has now become very slippery on smooth surfaces.

Very hard. Didn't fit right foot. Made blisters on last 3 toes. Reordered another style, hopefully will love them.

This shoe is well made and fits to size, but it is not nearly as cushioned and comfy as I had hoped. My podiatrist recommended this shoe, and I will wear it until it wears out, but I am disappointed in the cushioning

I have decided to try Hoka shoes because a lot of people at work said they like them a lot. I walk and work on my feet a lot at work. Unfortunately the shoe's didn't feel right. My feet sweat a lot in these and that is not typical for me. Also my legs have been hurting ever since I've started wearing these shoes. Hope they work better for someone else. Giving them 2 stars because they look great.

I love the color. The length and toe box are good. I tried these in hopes of finding something that would provide good arch support since the Clifton 8 has been discontinued. These just don't have enough arch support and had to be returned. Even just walking around the house, it was clear these wouldn't be comfortable.

This is my 2nd attempt with a pair of Hokas. Terrible fit to my foot. I seem to be an Asics woman.
I'd also recommend:

That's just it. I thought they would be as black as pictured but they are a faded grey-ish black (cheap look) Really disappointed integration color. I also challenged my kids to a foot race took off and the shoe nearly slipped off my foot and took me out Figured I would just wait until I got a smaller size. So I can't really rate in that regards yet.

I have been a Challenger wearer for several years and the fit is just not the same! They seem 1/2 to large, the toe is not as rounded and definitely don't like the new heel. It doesn't feel as thought the heel is secure in the shoe. On a good note the shoe is still very light weight and loving the new assortment of colors.

I wear a size women's 9. That is what I ordered. Shoes were like a men's size something much bigger. I wore them around the house to get the feel for them. While they absorb the shock impact of walking, cushioning to every step. However, one shoe rubbed the side of my foot. I thought it was user error, lol, readjusted tongue and shoestring, and it still rubbed. That was 2 days ago and my foot is still a little sore. Probably needed to order size down, then that would maybe fit better, I don't know. Maybe I got a defective pair of sneakers, I don't know. Will I reorder another pair after this and hope for the best, I don't know.

This shoe is a great color, but I need wide and the wide I ordered is very narrow. I have the Gaviota in reguler width and it is very wide and fits great. This wide looks and feels a lot narrower than other wide Hoka shoes I have bought. I almost feel that it was mislabeled! I have to return.

They were extremely comfortable and light weight, but the soles are very bouncy and have very deep treads. I didn't feel stable in them.

I've been running in Hoka for years and have always loved the challenger model, as I found it held up well in any terrain and proved to be a versatile running shoe. The challenger 7 did not even compare to the older model, as I ran in it for maybe three months consistently and the shoe was already beginning to break down. Pieces of tread were easily torn off and the sole was splitting from the upper of the shoe where it creases. Overall, the shoe looked as though it had seen more miles of use than it actually had. I used this shoe for mild trail surfaces, nothing too rugged, and the tread and sole looked destroyed. I was disappointed because this wasn't an issue with the Challenger 6, which held up substantially longer and was much more durable.
I will always recommend and continue to wear Hoka, but the Challenger 7 might be better off as a walking shoe, but I would not recommend for extensive trail running.

Seemed wider than other Hoka shoes and heavy/clunky. The heal padding was stiff and cut into my ankle

Falling apart after 3 months. Should last longer for the price. That's why I'm only giving 2 stars

They make my feet fall asleep. Oddly enough the recommended size is 2 sizes bigger than I usually buy. My podiatrist recommended them. I was hoping they would be good but unfortunately they are not. I could get over the fact that they look like boats on my feet if they were actually comfortable. What a waste of money . They feel too big and too small at the same time!
