I bought a pair of these (wides, size 6) and the right shoe is much tighter than the left in the toe box. You can even tell just looking at it. I assumed it was a one-off mistake and wore them even though they're not very comfortable.
I just bought a second pair, and it's the same issue! I never had this with the Clifton 7 or 8. I think I'll return this and try to find an 8 (which I loved!) somewhere.

I've only had my Hokas for about 1 1/2 weeks. They feel great going on, wonderful cushion. But the first day I wore them after 8 hours on my feet, I could barely get out of my car. I've been wearing them for short periods of time because I think my knees need to get used to them.

What I used to take as comfort and good fit for my very narrow (and small) foot was really just ok. I put the Hokas on and they were so comfortable I literally forgot I was wearing shoes. I've walked in them, stood in them, ridden my bike in them and run 8 hours of errands in them. They're bouncy-comfortable but light, airy, and stable. They're awesome. Only thing that threw me is I am a solid 4.5 or 5 double narrow, and I am wearing a 5.5 in the Clifton 9.

Love these shoes, first time I've tried a wide size. Looks like I may need to size down by a half size to get the width and length just right for my usual size 8. Looking forward to avoiding squished toes on the trails this summer.

I bought these because I needed good cushioning for my plantar fasciitis in my heel. Not only are they very cushioning but I love the color and style!

I have usually have so much trouble finding tennis shoes that fit me properly but I really loves these Hokas. I have small, wide feet and often after a long walk, my toes are squished and hurting. I've tried so many brands (Brooks, Orthofeet, Kiziks, etc.) and these are the first shoes that fit me comfortably. So happy with this purchase!

I like the shoe, I don't loveeee the shoe. The tongue on the inner corners keeps rubbing my ankle no matter which socks I wear. And I try to go loose with the tie when fastening, but it's not ideal for running. Also, the left shoe feels slightly different than the other shoe..? Like someone wore it and it's worn down but the right shoe feels brand new.

I just purchased Clifton 9 a week ago, and because I used after pay, I'm stuck with them. They are the most uncomfortable sneakers I've ever worn walking. I walk long distance daily, and I can't tolerate these sneakers. So disappointed.

i bought these sneakers a few weeks ago and used them to go hiking that weekend and they were so so comfy!! we hiked for about 4-5 hours on mostly flat terrain and they were so cushioning and comfortable, my feet barely ached at all after that walk. would definitely recommend for people who go walking/hiking on pavement or on easy trails!!

I have recently started working at a grocery store part time. My full time job is sitting at a desk, and I'm out of practice standing for long periods of time. My back, knees, ankles and feet sure felt it! Almost all of my coworkers wear Hokas and advised I try them. These shoes are a game changer! I am so much lighter on my feet, and I don't come home with foot pain or throbbing feet and ankles. Great shoes!!

I use these for running! They are to soft and too wide in front I'm not comfortable and could not exchange for a different product only for same shoe different t color or size .

I'm still getting used to these shoes. They're comfy, but not fuzzy slipper comfy. I'm still more than ready to kick them off at the end of the day. So far, I can't say they're "Game changers," as others have said.

I suffered a serious accident and crushed my right foot and broke my right leg in 6 places. After a long recovery I am able to walk again. However every shoe I have tried has hurt my foot and caused pain in my leg. These are the first shoes I can wear and walk comfortably. I'm up to walking 2.5 miles a day, pain free! Thank you!!

I never thought of myself as having wide feet, however, after reading another review, I ordered both the regular and wide width of the Clifton 9 for comparison. The wide fit is perfect. My toes can stretch and move and do not hit the top of the shoe. If you need more room in the toe box area, this shoe is for you! I really like the Cliftons as they provide the extra support my feet and body need. However, now with the wide width, it is a home run!

I am almost always an 8 (regular width) in running shoes but when I tried on the regular with these, they felt just narrow. I then tried a 8 wide- felt my heel slip a bit so then I tried a 7.5 wide and they fit perfectly. I was wearing Hoka Transports before these and the bounciness of the cushion took a bit of getting used to on the Cliftons. I've only done 2-3 mile daily walks since purchasing a few days ago and they're good. Not the cutest and I'm still getting used to them so I'm looking forward to seeing how they wear after months.

Loved these for two walks. Today I took a long walk and there is something sharp digging into my right rear side of my foot. It kept getting worse until I walked home with the sneaker in my hand. So wanted to love these :(

I just wanted to emphasize that this is my 5th Hoka pair. I have always been your biggest fan but i am beyond disappointed with the quality of these shoes. I first returned them within a few days of buying them because the sole peeled off. Guess what. It happened again. My old Clifton's NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. It is not normal that this keeps happening.

My 5th pair of Hokas and I absolutely love them so much! (I have a variety of styles for work/everyday life) As a nurse, Clifton 9's are the PERFECT work shoe for me that support my arch through my 12 hour shifts. Would buy again and again and again!
