First, TrueFit recommended the completely wrong size - based on my 9.5 Adidas shoes it told me a 10.5 would fit. After 3 returns I found my actual size - 8.5! Also you can only exchange once, after that you have to process a return and start any order. Not that any of this did me any good, even buying a wide size the shoe immediately rubbed uncomfortably on my little toe when I tried it on. Also the shoe is just generally stiff and uncomfortable. So this is the 4th return. I might try on Hokas in-store in the future but never ordering online again.

I should have bought one that came in a wider width. They feel to narrow, but i've already worn them so they're mine now. Like the cushion.

These fit true to size, but after less than a mile walking, pain on the right side of my right foot and the bottom of both feet, I was so hoping that these would work for me

Love the level of comfort with these. Very cute and stylish as well. But after a little over a month; using exclusively on the treadmill and one outdoor hikepart of the bottom is loose. For the price that is unacceptable.

Many of my colleague's wear Hoka's and rave about them. So, I decided to make the purchase. I ordered the wide and had plenty of room in the toe box, however, I did not feel like I was walking on a cloud all day as others described. My feet and ankles were actually very sore the day after wearing my new Hokas. I will give them some time to break in before I decide to return them. Fingers crossed.

Cute colors but made my feet look huge. The shoe has a toe box that was too roomy. Shoes felt comfy but looked ridiculous.

I am a ride or die for Cliftons, I buy at least one new pair every year. I just purchased the Clifton 9 and I am so upset. No matter what I do (adjust the laces, the tightness, etc) the tongue digs into my ankle and is SO uncomfortable, even just standing in my kitchen with them on. I couldn't imagine running in them. Off to return them once my running store opens this AM. What a shame they ruined this shoe.

I'm a nurse and I wore these shoes for one shift, took them off then I got home and immediately noticed the top/side of my right foot hurt terribly. Feels like a bruise but there's no bruising. These shoes are way too expensive to be this uncomfortable. I feel like the shoe squeeze my foot and there's too much cushioning for my high arch.

I have purchased two pair of Hoka's in the last few months, feel great the first two weeks, then not as comfly. I went to a high end shoe shoe & they stated the shoe is too small ;( I know my 30 days are up but I was hoping for something but not going to happen

Were not wide enough. I was expecting unparallelled cushioning, but no cushioning under ball of foot, only in heel area. Huge disappointment.

I have 3 pairs of Clifton 8's and was disappointed in the Clifton 9's. They're slightly longer and wider but not enough to order a half size smaller. The heel slippage is bad. I added heel inserts so my socks don't completely fall down but it only helps somewhat. They remind me of the Hokas I bought when they first came out more than 10 years ago in that they're clunky looking and feeling. Back then a pair made me trip and fall on an easy hike so I stopped buying them until recently based on friends feedback. I was happy until the Clifton 9's. Sorry Hoka made this change and I hope they go back to offering the comfort and fit of the Clifton 8"s.

I am on my feet about 10 to 12 hours a day (healthcare worker) and it was time to buy my 3rd pair of Clifton's. In the past, I have loved them for the support and cushioning they provide. The Clifton 9? No cushioning. My feet have been hurting so bad after wearing them all day. I'll be looking for the older versions and wearing these only for weekend errands.

I really had high hopes for these shoes. I have wide feet, so I have to order a half size larger. The fit was good. After spending a few days of walking on vacation, however, the support was disappointing. My feet hurt; my lower back hurt. There is no arch support, so I tried taking out the insoles and replacing them with my inserts, but that crowds my small toes on both feet and makes the shoes uncomfortable to wear. I wish I could return them.

I have to say up front that I'm not one who typically complains about products, nor do I expect perfection from anything I purchase, but I've also never spent over $100 on sneakers or running shoes before either so I guess in this case I was expecting a better outcome, after reading so many great reviews and recommendations. I'm 60 and have always been active but recently started experiencing some joint issues due to osteoarthritis (foot, ankle and knee pain), but I love walking and am used to walking many miles a week. Seems like I could no longer find a super comfortable walking shoe/sneaker. I don't typically have any special foot considerations, other than I've been going with a wider width for the last couple of years. Taking the plunge, I purchased 2 pairs of your Clifton 9's as well as the Ora Recovery Sandal online June 23rd (Order #NA18096581). I wanted to give them a fair shake before sending them back, although I didn't think I should need to "break them in". Although the Clifton is not necessarily attractive on the foot (looks and feels like wearing flippers!), I didn't care as long as it was comfortable and would work for the long haul. Unfortunately, wearing them for any length of time proved uncomfortable, leaving me with a blister on the top of my 2nd to last toe of right foot (something I've never gotten before with any sneaker, especially when wide width), and the sandals - after a short walk of about 1.5 miles resulted in rub spots/blisters on the tops of both feet and I ended up walking back to the car barefoot because they hurt so bad. I still have a week, so I'm contemplating returning all 3 items, since it was such a large investment for me.

These weren't for me. After two miles, my back hurt, and the callous on my toe that I hadn't had trouble with in years flared up. I was so sad to have to send them back. I appreciate HOKAs no-questions-asked-return policy, though!

I'm an 8 in other brands that I use for walking. Used all week for 1 hour walks each day but think I should have sized down. My foot seems to turn inward and when I walk doesn't seem level and is strained when I get home.

Really don't like how these fit. They feel way too big, even after taking the online sizing "test". They are really wide. I put in my usual inserts and had horrible pain in one foot. Took the inserts out, now I have achy feet by the end of my work day. I guess I should have gone to a store to try them on first.

When I first put these shoes on they felt great. There was a bounce and forward rocking motion that made me want to walk. The fit was great. However, after taking a couple 2 mile walks I found they caused significant pain in my hip. I was very disappointed to find they aren't the shoes for me. I'm walking now in my Brooks shoes without hip pain. Very appreciative of Zappos though. They agreed to allow me to return the shoes despite having worn them.

I was SO excited to try hoka sneakers as my roommate always raves about them. I'm a huge fan of adidas ultra-boosts and they have always been my running shoe of choice. When I first tried on my hoka sneakers I loved them, but on my third time wearing them they really started hurting the inside of my left foot. It's now very uncomfortable to even walk in them purely because of my left foot. I know everyone's feet are different, but I've never had this issue before so it's super frustrating. The right shoe is super comfortable so I left 2 stars. I think I just may have gotten a faulty pair, which is unfortunate for the price point.

I am a recent Hoka lover, most importantly Clifton 8. They are no longer available so I purchased Clifton 9 and I am sad that they are narrower than the Clifton 8. Bring back the 8's when you make Clifton 10.
