I was so excited to get a new pair of Clifton's. that's all i run in. but these fit so awkward and after trying them on the tread for 20 minutes, I have blisters on the side of my ankle where it rubbed and the tongue of the show is weirdly large. Why did they change them!? They weren't broken, no need to "fix" them Hoka!

I’m not sure why, and maybe it’s because they go a little higher up on the foot, but it feels like it’s rubbing blisters on my foot near my inner ankle? It’s really uncomfortable and hurts. I’m not sure I would buy these again simply because of that. I had high hopes for these shoes, and for the amount of money spent on them, they shouldn’t hurt.

I purchased these for my wife. She lives the fit and style. However, after a couple weeks the composition of the tread (colored rubber) began to separate from the less dense foam rubber. She tried to glue it back but it would not hold. I am returning them for a replacement pair. I hope this was just a one off. She really likes them otherwise.

I was so looking forward to getting my first pair of Hokas, only to be very disappointed. They dug into my ankles and they were very difficult to walk in. I felt like I was trying to walk in sand. They made my 4 mile walk much more difficult. Had to switch back to my older shoes.

I was going to walk/run in these but the are a bit big through the ball of the foot for me and while they are fine for an hour long class or daily wear not going to work for what I purchased them for.

I have been recommended Hoka's for my Sesamoiditis foot injury by my PT, and have really struggled to find a good pair. My first attempt was the Bondi and left foot's shoe was really awkward in contrast to any shoe that I have ever tried in my 40 some years of existence. It was as if the footbed was molded to only fit one Cinderella foot and it was as if it was trying to force my foot to turn out or contort into its shape, and it was straight up narrow. Oddly, my left foot is my smaller one, so this was strange indeed. Returned those, found the last model of Stinsons- LOVE the fit and feel. I need a new pair now though, and all of the color scheme and design options for the Stinsons make me gag and turn my head (I just free piled a pair of Mizunos from 8 years ago that were nearly identical to their newest color drop and I had the same response to looking at them). Come on Hoka, give us a solid color or monochromatic scheme option for the Stinsons! Anyhow, out of desperation I have been looking at every plush Hoka available, and decided to try this Clifton 9, and well, don't like it. I ordered the same size as the Stinson I have(8.5) and I decided to try the wide in case my left foot just happens to be a wide. They are too long and my left foot felt guided to the left- leaving a bunch of space to the right in the forefoot and the left side of my foot felt like it was going over the edge of the sole's footbed. Anyhow, never, in any other shoe Ever, have I experienced this. And here I found it again in the Clifton 9 wide, as I did in the Bondi non- wide. I honestly think the design is off- a bad mold? Did you use a model foot that is narrow, for a standard size 8-8.5? IDK, but I find it sus that this has only occurred in Hoka's- I have a shoe fetish, I try all sorts of different brands. Anyhow, I'm now limited due to my foot injury and also now saddened that these Clifton's aren't going to cut it either. Too wide & narrow at once.

I had to return. They did not have 5 1/2 so I got a six. Which is usual for me with athletic shoes. They made my feet look like boats. Back they went

I own several pairs if Hokas, (hiking & running). I purchased 2 pairs of the Clifton 9 shoes before I left for Mexico. I took these and my trail runners. I used the Cliftons for some outdoor aerobic classes and the tread started peeling off the bottom of the shoes along with an almosthole in the toe of one of them! They are pretty much trashed and I wore them for the first time 5 months ago. I will continue to buy Hokas because I love the fit but Very disappointed in the Cliftons.

Really big shoe. Tried this to replace my Clifton's. I've worn cliftons since the Clifton 4. The Clifton 9 was redesigned and not working for me. This shoe was recommended. Compared to Clifton, it was not comfortable. The Footbed feels hard and the shoe is ginormous!

I bought these shoes in January primarily for walking and loved them, but can't do much walking now as the bottoms of these shoes started to peel off and caused me to trip (of course, it happened the week after the 60-day return policy expired for me). Don't buy these if you like to survive normal walking and like to maintain functional ankles/feet.

They trick you by being so comfy to walk in or do a few miles. I loved these shoes so much that it was hard to return them but I did too many miles in them and ended up with patellar tendonitis. Its taken me SO LONG to recover. The ONLY thing about my runs that changed was moving from the Arahis to the Cliftons (wouldn't be a problem if the new Arahis were better). If you're just walking or wearing it for everyday, these are fun, but if you plan to run any distance, dont buy these - they'll betray you...

Had these shoes for less than a month before the bottom started to wear away (flaps came up), bought them specifically for my trip to Italy. After countless attempts to glue back my shoe I have lost the battle and they continue to wear away. I previously had these shoes and lasted me over a year before they wore away.

This is my fourth pair of Hoka Cliftons. They look fantastic and feel good when just standing. I was excited to recieve a new pair for Spring. I thought I had found my go-to shoe to help my issues with stability. I'm sad to return these. However, after I wore them one afternoon, my feet hurt, and my right heel had pain. I don't know if it was the new design with the additional stack, maybe lack of flexibility or what, but it wouldn't be wise for me to keep them. I put my old ones on and immediately felt comfort. I'm disappointed because I love my Hoka Cliftons and have recommended them to numerous people. They just seemed to have too much added features. I don't need added performance; I just need to walk. I gave them an honest test, and they didn't work for me.

These were my fourth pair of Hokas. I normally get around a year out of them. I’m not a runner; I work in a restaurant on concrete. These only lasted a few months before the bottom of one peeled off, making them unwearable.

LOVED my Clifton 8 Hokas. BUMMED by the CLifton 9s. The black with white soles has been changed to some charcoal gray mesh tone, and the overall shoe has a much clunkier style. The white sole seems thinner and less visible, making them look like dark old-lady sensible shoes. And they just seem a uniform width from heel to toe, with no dimension. Looks like I'm wearing a gray hoagie bun!!! Comfort is fine as always but style is a huge miss. I realize brands need to update styles, but this time it's FOR THE WORSE! Back they go. Very disappointed, HOKA!
