I really wanted to love these shoes and the left foot felt stable and had good ankle support, but unfortunately my right foot was riding on the inside sole about 1/4 of my whole foot on the arch side making it very uncomfortable. I wish they had them in wide b/c I do have a wide toe box also.

I really wanted to like this Hoka. The styling is cute and refreshing and I was looking for a new Plush Hoka so I tried it. My usual fit for my other six Hoka pairs are either women's 8 wide or 8.5 regular. I only get 8.5 regulars when the Hoka model I want doesn't offer a wide version. Since this Anapaca Breeze wasn't offered in a wide (please Hoka, make hiking boots in wides for women), I bought the 8.5. What I received was much longer and narrower than my other 8.5 Hoka's. It has a huge amount of toe room length and is narrow on the outside part of the shoe. I wore them for two days (8 hours each day) over the course of a week. I really wanted them to work but concluded that they were not going to "give in" and be any more comfortable. Since Hoka's website's description stated that this shoe was a Plush, I was looking forward to that type of Plushness that comes from the Bondi. This Anapaca Breeze is "cushy" when you walk on it but doesn't offer the solidness and magic carpet comfort of a Bondi plush. I'll be returning the boxed shoes to the post office tomorrow. It's nice that Hoka pays for return postage. Thanks for letting me try it out, Hoka. I hope more Hoka's will offer more models and colors in women's wides, especially for hiking.

Wore them on some big hikes, lost my toenail. I think they are too big, so I am sliding forward. Gave them away.

I own 2 pair of OneOne Hiking boots that I love so much. Literally made hiking a pain free joy again. They don't make them anymore. I've tried the all Hoka new and improved hiking boots and am disappointed with them. The Anacapa Breeze gets 2 stars. One for great color and style and the other for instant comfort when you put them in. I had to send back my normal size 9 where my toes were jammed right up to the tip and get a 9 1/2 which were then too roomy and wide. I tied as tight as I could and even with thick hiking socks my foot was sliding around. You can't get them tight enough and there is no support for your ankle. Coming down the mountain my feet slid forward and were smashing against the front of the shoe. Not enough support for rugged and mountainous terrain. If you just want to walk around in a flat surface these might be ok, but they are not made for rugged hiking. All my sneakers are also and have been for years, but they keep "improving" the models and discontinuing the ones that fit and work for me. I may be looking into other brands unfortunately.

I was so excited to get these shoes for work ... thinking I would be comfortable all day but no... they are not comfortable at all.... I stand / walk on concrete for 8 hours a day and I was hoping for some cushion support but it is as if I'm still standing on the concrete... very disappointed my feet are killing me!!

I had to exchange these boots previously because Hoka sent the wrong size. I normally wear a 9 but purchased 8.5 because normally the toe bed is wide enough. However, these boots fit differently compared to the Hoka Kaha 2 GTX. I believe the toe bed is on the narrow side in these boots and I don't know what it is, but these boots squeak when I walk after only wearing them 4x! The color is true to the description but not impressed with the comfort or the squeak. You cannot tactically enter a room in these boots!

I really wanted to love these because they are quite stylish! I had planned to wear them on a backpacking trip this summer, but it seems to not work out for me. I tried them out for the first time on a walk around the neighborhood to a local trail. The trail was paved rather nicely with little to no rocks. I was surprised when I got back home and saw that the scratches on the side of the shoe because the vibram was not durable enough. Given I "babied" these to make sure they don't get dirty the first time around, and it still didn't hold up, I am not impressed at all. These definitely wouldn't last on a hiking day trip, and most definitely wouldn't be durable enough for a backpacking trip with rough terrains. Sadly, I will be returning these ): Hoka, you got my hopes up because I was excited to find a stylish, breathable hiking shoe/boot!

My husband got me these and I wanted so badly to love them but after trying them many times, they give me terrible blisters every time. They're so sheer and tight that you have to wear a very specific sock (more like a liner) with them or they'll force your sock seam to cut your foot. They're light but they're a little too bendable. They just don't have the support or comfort of a standard hiking boot.

Ordered these boots for hiking thought they were a good well made Hiking boot. But to my dismay one boot was good the other had a defect where the material wasn't sewn correctly on the inside by the toes so when wearing it rubbed across the top of my toes and was very uncomfortable and hurt even with socks on. The other boot was smooth and didn't have material left that rubbed across the top of my toes. So I was very dissapointed. Was not good for wearing to go hiking on my feet. Then I had to pay to have them shipped back. Which was another dissapointed because now a defective product that I paid good money for I' had to put out more money to have shipped back.

I bought three HOKA hiking/trail running shoes: the anacapa, the speedgoat high rise, and the kaha to see which would work best for me. The Anacapa runs long (longer that the other two), the internal arch made my foot sore after only one mile (the right more than the left). I mention this because I thought that this was because difference on my feet, but I found other review that was also complaining regarding the fight foot hurting more). The ankle is too wide and doesn't provide good support. I tend to sprain my ankles often and I need a high shoe with good support. The Anacapa performed worse than the Kaha for hiking and worse than the Speedgoat for trail running. I am returning.

Bought these because I needed the extra ankle support. Shoe felt sloppy with no support, almost like wearing a slipper. Narrow toe box. Ordered up and my foot was jammed in there. Long-time Hoka lover but these are not a winner.

I bought these because they are supposed to be waterproof and I instantly felt the water go through. So frustrating!

I have been wearing Hoka Bondi and Cliftons for years and wanted hiking boots for upcoming National Park vacation. But very disappointed in the Anacapa Breeze Mid height. The plastic string hooks have cheap feel and one of the shoe strings started unraveling the first I wore them. I regret I didn't try them out sooner so I could return. Since I live in So Fla there are few opportunities to test, and I assumed these would be comfortable like other Hokas. Big mistake. I tried then on short mile hike mid summer and had to turn around and limp back to car because of extreme pain on back of my ankles - achilles tendons. The next day I wore my Bondis no problem. Two weeks later I wore again shopping. Within 20 minutes my achilles were killing me again and had to rush home barefoot. Frustrated and worried it was me, not shoes, and I went to podiatrist with the shoes. He confirmed it was Anacapas. The collar rubs against my tendons. ( I contacted Hoka where I ordered but because it had been 3 months since I ordered they will not accept return. Given my experience and changes to and short life of Bondis, I'm switching to different brand of running and hiking shoes.

Unfortunately, the sole on the left boot by the arch was molded incorrectly and pushes in on the arch. The right boot was perfect.

I own four pairs of Hoka shoes and one pair of hiking boots- the speed goat mid 2 GTX. But my Hoka hiking boots wore out, so I bought these Anacapa breeze Hoka boots. They are just too narrow and I couldn't tie them back tightly enough to keep my toes from touching the tip of the inside of the boot, even though I always buy a half a size bigger than I usually wear to leave room for socks, and, no toe rubbing. My original hooker, hiking boots were not with me, but now Hoka only sells hiking boots in B width.

Really need that third lace hook that the regular Anacapas have.
