I bought Gore Tex style for the waterproof layer, turned out to be great for wet snow days.

I had high hopes for the Hoka Challenger 7, but unfortunately, it has been a major disappointment. I've worn these shoes consistently for about two weeks, and they have not lived up to expectations in terms of comfort or performance. Heel Pain and Discomfort One of the most glaring issues is the lack of support around the heel area. After a short time wearing these, my heels started to hurt significantly. This discomfort persisted even after adjusting the laces and insoles to try to improve the fit. Toe Box Issues Another issue is the toe box. While initially the fit seemed okay, extended use caused my little toes on both feet to feel cramped and sore. The pressure in this area becomes unbearable during longer wear, making these shoes unsuitable for all-day use or extended runs. Cushioning Isn't Enough Despite being marketed as a cushioned, all-terrain shoe, the midsole didn't feel supportive or plush enough for me. Instead of the smooth, comfortable ride I expected, the shoes felt stiff and unresponsive, especially on harder surfaces. Overall Experience I really wanted these shoes to work, but they've only caused discomfort and pain. For a premium brand like Hoka, I expected much better in terms of fit, support, and performance. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the Challenger 7, especially for runners or anyone looking for reliable, comfortable footwear. While they look good and the outsole seems durable, the lack of comfort completely outweighs any positives. I'll be returning these and looking for a better option elsewhere.

Bought these for a half marathon and that worked out great. Shoe is Gortex so I brought it with me to the Philippines where it is great for hiking and everyday use in the rainy season. Comfortable and durable. Very satisfied.

I love the styling and how my color choice fits into my wardrobe! I use them for work and I absolutely love the energy return and arch support the shoes offer. I have a low arch yet I get support.

I'm a mailman and have been using hoka for years. They are always really comfortable. These however are not. They are waterproof and the quality is there, but wish I hadn't accidentally bought the wrong model

Nuce but same level of cushion as the speed goats. Was looking for more. Returned these for the Mafatas. Color seems darker green on the web site.

Purchased online without trying them on. I'm on my third HOKA shoe so I thought these would be just as good as the others I have owned. VERY stiff and just uncomfortable. I thought maybe I just needed to break them in a bit. Few weeks in and not getting any better but now I'm stuck with expensive running shoes I just cant wear. Not sure what happened but this model is just terrible, actually hurt my feet. Was a loyal customer but now I need to switch brands, disappointing.

Wanted to love these! Gortex, great style and color, made for trail running. Butand a big but.cushioning was sorely lacking. Coming from wearing Nike Pegasus Trail Gortex and their cushioning far surpasses this Hoka and shoe. After a run, my knees and ankles were notably sore. Really disappointing. Had to return these and will be sticking with Nike Pegasus..

Use for trail running, hiking, and Spartans. Great feel, nice grip and enough cushion while still feeling anchored to the ground.

Love everything about these Challenger Atr GTX. I tried several Hoka styles and settled on these. Big tip: These do not come in wide so I went half size larger and they fit. After severals days they are feeling better as they break in. I like the light green color too.

I wanted to love these shoes but sadly "no". Already returned them. They were just clunky. I called and asked about the sizing for "all gender" or women wearing a men's size. I was told, it's fine. No big difference. I disagree. I ordered the size the sale person suggested and the shoe was huge. It was just big all over. Hard to tell comfort level but best I could tell, not as comfortable as other Hoka shoes I've ordered.

I bought a pair just 2 months ago, a different color and they were great. I figured I'd buy another pair in a different color. Day and night silverware the two. The sole on this show feels like a cheap work boot

I use these shoes for work. I stand on my feet for long periods and, considering my flat foot, I have never experienced such a lovely shoe.

I purchased this shoe for a trip that will involve a lot of walking. A coworker turned me on to the Hoka Brand and I love em. I actually color coordinate your shoes with all my sport teams polos and golf polo shirts. I also play golf in the shoe. The styles, compfort, and support has me replacing a lot of my footwear from other brands. BTW: Allow multiple choices on your "Best for" selection.... This shoe is great for so many categories!

I love my new Challenger 7s. They are my 2nd pair of Hoka and they fit perfectly right out of the box. Fitment of these shoes is extremely consistent. Hoka are REALLY durable! I bought a pair of Stinson over a year ago to use while I give cave tours at The Caverns in Pelham, TN. I was wearing light hiking boots and some nights after a full day of giving tours, the bottom of my feet hurt so bad that I couldn't get to sleep. I decided to try the Hoka Stinson, and I swear to God my feet never hurt again. Back to durability. I wear the Hoka Stinson in a cave with rock and gravel paths, often off camber and sometimes slippery. Not only that, I am a teacher and have been wearing the SAME pair of Hoka for over a year, EVERY DAY. I'll andhis.....I'm also 280 pounds. These darn shoes don't have a THING wrong with them besides the treads looking beat-up. I'm totally sold on Hoka, and know my Challenger 7s will hold up too, but they are dedicated to running (plodding)

I first ordered a 14 which I wear in casual shoes. However, the 14 in this shoe was just too short and narrow. I had to go to the Hoka Web to order a 15 D which fit perfect. I really like the shoe the fit and comfort is fantastic.
I'd also recommend:
