I had this pair of "trail" shoes about 60 days before going into the Holy Cross Wilderness area of CO. My disappointment came during rough trail conditions, they do not hold up, the sole is tattered. I was alson disappointed in how sturdy the feel was, I expecting something closer to a hiking boot, but lighter and low profile. They are fine for walking around town, or groomed trails. I had heard good things about the Hoka shoe so I did have high expectatioins.

Disappointed After Just Three Months Poor Durability I bought these runners expecting decent quality, even though I only planned to use them for walking. After just three months of useno running, no rough terrainthey've already developed holes on the inside of the heel. That kind of wear in such a short time is unacceptable for a product marketed as performance footwear. I tried submitting a warranty claim through Hoka, but they dismissed it as "normal wear and tear." If this is what they consider normal, I won't be buying from them again. For the price, I expected better craftsmanship and at least a basic level of durability. These shoes didn't deliver.

I use hiking shoes as my golf shoes. Since I normally walk golfing which is twice a week in the summer and fall, I found that they are much more comfortable than regular golf shoes. I had a pair of Keen hiking shoes that lasted 10 years for golf. Purchased these Hoka Challenger shoes last July 2024 in Minnesota and used only for golf. The heels on both shoes are separating already. They fit great, lightweight and very comfortable but they don't last. Not used in rugged conditions they're only used on a golf course. So I didn't even use them for hiking yet they did not last a year. I would give them very very poor quality.

Liked the look of the shoe and the Gore-Tex Construction initially. I Order my normal size 10 D but the shoe felt very narrow and small. I thought maybe the shoe may need break but after wearing for a couple days, I didn't want to endure the discomfort. The sole also felt more rigid and not and not a very forgiving cushion that I anticipated with Hoka design.

Comfortable and decent grip for hiking but within 3 months fabric inside started tearing like no shoe ever has. Based on other reviews, quality has decreased

This will be the last pair of hokas I buy. I am on my feet all day for work and hokas were always my go to for shoes.. sick of cheap flimsy insoles and quality has declined for the price they are.

This will be my last pair of hokas. For the price they charge these shoes do not hold up well. The insole is the cheapest piece of foam and useless. Better options out there

While new the shoes are comfortable and offer reasonable support, but they don't hold up. I've had two pair and each has only lasted about six months. Both failed in the same way, the adhesive attaching the uppers to the soles starts to fail and the triangular flaps on the sale that form the joint come loose. I used the second pair for some backpacking and noticed that after about a week of carrying a 35# pack -- so the equivalent of a 250# person, the heel seemed to be loosing some of it's shape. For this price, I really expect a pair of shoes to hold up better.

the inside heel part of the shoe is falling apart fabric is to week, lasted 2 weeks and started seeing holes. this is the third pair in a row for me that I've had this problem with. I've even sent pictures to them with no response about it...I put 5 million steps in in a year, so this is not normal use, I go threw 5 pair a year, hope quality gets better...

They did not fit me. They felt too roomy around my foot and unstable. I did not where them outside, just tried them on. I returned them and ordered Speedgoat 5's which I love!

Thought these would be a nice shoe but they were really uncomfortable especially on the width and I don't ever have to wear wide shoes

I was hoping so badly that these shoes would fit my wide feet, I even ordered a half size larger. Unfortunately they were just too narrow. Love the shoes, just can't wear them. If offered in a 2E, I'd buy again.

I use this shoe every day for standing work. Cushion is great but the is tow box is extremely small. I've never been a wide so thought the shoes should fit perfectly. I then looked for a wide and this design and you folks don't sell it which is unfortunate.

The new Hoka's (or past couple of models) all seem a little narrower in the midfoot. While it may help for running stability, they've really changed shape.

I purchased the Challenger 7 GTX with hope it would fill the roll the Stinson ATR 7 had provided prior to you discontinuing the Stinson ATR model . The Challenger is not even close to the Stinson for the same money. I would not consider trail running in the Challenger, It is a work shoe at best. The other option is the Speed Goat but you don't make it in a stable variety.

I purchased with the hope that the cushion would match that of my Bondi 8 (Since Hoka website says it is max cushion) that I love with the added waterproofing. I wanted all black, because when wearing in rainy conditions any colored shoe will quickly show soiling. The shoes looked like orthopedic shoes and had almost zero cushion to them. I quickly compared with my Bondi 8 on one foot and this on the other. I instantly initiated a return.

I love HOKA and have been using their shoes for 3 years my family also all own multiple pairs, but I do not recommend these shoes. The fit and feel is nice but within the first month of me wearing these shoes the goretex grew holes at the crease lines and the inner back heel material ripped almost instantaneously. I hope Hoka fixes the quality of this shoe as I love how it looks and feels but does not stand the test of time. I bought these shoes from Duck's but due to their return policy I was not able to return them.

Well made product. But the Toe box narrower than last year's Hoka shoes. Two stars because I can't wear them.
