I have worn these slippers for decades and just ordered a new pair (my third) because my current pair is literally falling apart. Unfortunately, the new pair was defective. The seam on the top was S shaped on one and C shaped on the other instead of straight, and the triangle of leather on the front of one slipper was crooked by about 45 degrees. When you pay $79 for a pair of slippers, you expect first quality, not seconds. LL Bean needs to improve their quality control.
There is one other thing worth mentioning: when I bought these slippers in the past, they were always snug at first. However, this pair was not. I'm not sure what to think of that, but it is certainly a change.

The slippers were attractive, but I could not get my foot into them. It would have been better to have a zipper in the front.

I was disappointed. It was as though they were constructed by two different people. The left slipper had less fuffy wool inside and there was a small cut on the sole by the logo and a little bigger than the right. Not the quality you'd expect for the price. I am grateful for LL Bean's wonderful customer service. They are always willing to try to make things right.

I had a pair of these for about five years, and loved them so much. But they really wore out, down to the sheepskin in the heels and elsewhere. I was delighted when, after sending them back, L.L.Bean replaced them with a brand new pair in the same size (7). I normally wear a 6-1/2 narrow in shoes, but for slippers, a 7 medium worked because I always wore socks with them in the cold Iowa winters. But I can hardly get this pair on, with or without socks, even though they are the same size. I can't decide if the fluffy lining is too thick, or if the sizing has changed. I can't imagine going up to an 8 -- it would surely end up being too big in the heels. But I also can't imagine spending the next winter(s) without a pair! Now I'm wondering what to do.

I received a pair of these for Christmas. I moved from down South to Up North and spent the first 2 winters with 2 pairs of cheap slippers I wore out.
So I thought I'd buy a pair I'd have for years because that's what LL Bean is all about. I got a pair of these for Christmas.
I liked them, although I wish the front part went up higher on the ankle, but I wear socks with my slippers most of the time so it wasn't too bad.
However it's March and I was looking at them and realized the stitching had worn through and broken at the heel of both slippers. The seaming on the leather at the back of the shoe (on the body of the shoe) is starting to split on one of them and the stitching on the toes is going and the leather is splitting at the toes as well.
Now, I do push my slippers off with my toes but I would think that LL Bean could anticipate that people would do that and build slippers that last. I don't know why the stitches on the heels are going, except maybe the way I'm taking the shoes off. Which again, I would think LL Bean would anticipate. Also I wear my slippers inside the house all the time - I come home, take off my work shoes, and put on my slippers and wear them until I go to bed, but again, I would think that level of use would be anticipated.
But I did the same things with my cheap fake material slippers that lasted almost twice as long as these have (the wicked good slippers haven't lasted 3 months yet).
I called customer service and they were very nice. I'm getting a new pair and hopefully changes were made and the slippers will last. I picked LL Bean because, in my mind, it means quality but if the next pair of slippers doesn't last maybe I'll have to rethink htat.

These slippers are not as comfortable as the ones made many years ago. The old ones just seemed to wrap and cuddle your foot. These seem like your are just walking on a piece of cardboard with some fleece. They are warm, but sure don't compare to the old ones I wore until they were ragged and full of holes.

Quality and overall workmanship is very good. But beware of sizing.
I normally wear a woman's size 9. These slippers in that size are too short and too tight a fit in the width. I have returned them and re-ordered a men's slipper in men's size 8.

My last pair of Wicked Good Slippers lasted a good 8 yrs, so when the seams finally frayed, I rushed on-line to buy a new pair. I'm a little disappointed that they're a tad small. Not a huge problem, I'll just exchange them, but would've preferred the size be true on the first try. Otherwise, they're great: soft & warm!

I agree with Beanie57 on all counts of that previous review. I have narrow feet and these just do not work. I don't normally buy narrow shoes, so I know I'm still in the B-width range... The soft sole feels nice and the slippers are warm but on my narrow feet, the lack of solid sole or support means my feet slip side to side in the bottom of the slipper. It feels like I am walking on the outsides of the bottom seam. I also have a pair of hearthside slippers (which have support and a rubber sole) which fit much better on my narrow feet. These do fit true to size (and fit the same, length-wise, as my hearthside slippers).

I had a similar pair from ll bean from many years ago and needed to replace them. When the new ones came the opening for the foot was so much smaller than my old pair. They were too hard to get on my foot. Had to return them

These slippers were ok, but I couldn't stand to look at them. The seam down the middle caused the toe to look like a cloven hoof. The picture looked rounded. I suspect it is because of the order of steps in construction, they sewed the center seam last, and it didn't unfold smoothly.

I bought these slippers for my wife for Christmas.. They seem to fit ok but could be a bit bigger.. The problem with them is that there doesn't seem to be a "right" or "left".. It is very hard to tell which is the correct one.. Since LL Bean has gone off shore I have had the same problem with footwear I have bought for myself.. The LL Bean slippers are the highest price slippers of all the others I looked at and should be of a better quality.. Next time around I will try other brands first..

The slippers did not work for me and they will be placed in shipping channels tomorrow as returned merchandise. The slippers are warm and I did appreciate that the soft sole left no marks on my hardwood floors. My problem with the slippers is that they did not support my narrow feet; there was absolutely no arch support. I placed soft pads and finally my orthotic supports and with both of those changes my comfort level was still left wanting. Too bad.

Doesn't feel as substantial as slippers I've ordered in years past. Less padding on the sole and markedly less shearling. I measured it and it's not nearly as long and thick as before. I'm debating whether to keep this pair. I think next time I will try another site for handmade slippers I just have to remember to order earlier in the year. This is a busy time for them and they are no longer taking orders.

She (who must be obeyed) likes these a lot, but they have to be replaced every year, (at least in recent years), and she mostly only wears them in colder weather.

I owned a pair years ago which I probably bought in the early 80's. As I recall they had stiffer soles and just seemed more sturdy all the way around. They lasted for years. The little flap on the back of the heel used to be a loop. I guess the company is cutting costs by using less material for that flap. I do like the warmth these give me on cold mornings. They feel comforatble. I am sceptical they will be as long-lasting as my last pair--plus they ain't cheap in price!

My husband and I probably have ordered 10 pairs of these slippers in the last 15 years. I just ordered another pair about two months ago. I noticed right away that the shearling didn't feel as soft as in the past. I used to put my feet in and just go ahhhhhh..... Not so with these. The new ones are nice but I wish I hadn't thrown my old ones out. Please, LL Bean, step up the quality and I'll continue to purchase in the future. In the meantime, I get a feeling that these are going to wear out fast. I'll be looking elsewhere for a better quality slipper when that happens.

I purchased these same slippers a few years ago and liked them very much. However the pair I just received (same size as before) do not fit at all. As I know sheepskin slippers do tend to stretch a fair amount, if they weren't so difficult to even get on my feet due to the tightness I might wear them a little and see what happened, but so it goes. Perhaps it's the way they're cut, but there's definitely something going on here, at least for me :( ps....Why oh why are there not more slippers made in half sizes and wide widths??

I have a pair of these slippers that are about 6 years old. Only now are they starting to wear through on the bottom. I ordered a new pair and the design is different; they have a slit on the top of the foot so don't cover all the way to the ankle in front. They fit okay but I definately don't like the design because the top of my foot isn't covered.

I purchased these online so I was guided just by the photo in the catalog. While the slippers are VERY cozy, I expected a little more support in them and there is none.

These slippers are okay after needing them during a week of cold weather. I have stayed warm.. But these are cheaper than the ones I had several years ago which were much better quality. I would like to see real fleece and better quality leather. The dye runs in these. They are just not made like they use to be.

I just bought and put these slippers on, so my review is a gut reaction. I had previously owned the Wicked Good Moccasin and really liked those, although thought the footbed lining wore away in spots fairly quickly. I decided to try these, as my ankles were unprotected with the other. First disappointment is that while the back come up to the ankle, there is a deep vee in th the front, leaving that skin unprotected and cold. Dumb idea and not neccesary. Secondly as somone else said the inner footbed does not seem to match the outer, so you "slip off" making the walk unstable. I have a wide foot and wear a 61/2 to 7, more of a 7 lately so that's what I ordered. It is too long, The width feels somewhat narrow but I expected that and hoped it would stretch. I'm going return them and just have to decide if I want to get another type in a smaller size or try for a slipper from another manufacturer.

I have worn Wicked Good Slippers for years. I live on a farm and they've been indispensable for those cold nights when I may have to go outside. I just got a new pair for Christmas and feel that the quality has deteriorated. The suede seems thinner, the inserts in the foot don't match to the sole. I checked my old pair and they were also made in China so I can't blame that. Frankly, for the money I should have bought a second pair of shearling boots from Australia and used those for my slippers. This makes me sad, as I've always loved this product.

I bought my slippers 10 months ago so they haven't even been worn that many times if you consider the last 2 months of last winter and only 2 months so far this winter. With that being said, the inside of them by the heels is already worn down to the sole, which means there is no lining left in those spots. I wear an 8.5-9 so I made the mistake of ordering a 9. They are now stretched to the point where I can literally slip my feet into them without even touching the slipper so I have to make it a point to wear thick socks in them to make them more snug to walk around the house in. I recommend these as far as warmth goes, but durability and stretch factor are a little disappointing for the price.

The Wicked Good Slippers are comfortable and warm. However, they are expensive for slippers and stretch out within a few hours of wearing them. LLBean changed the construction a few years ago and although I have purchased several pairs since then, this will be my last. I will be trying a different style or another brand because of the stretching. The slippers become sloppy fitting after 2 or 3 hours.
