My feet are not easy to fit and good support is essential if this 85 year old is going to keep her balance. These are great and the sole is a much better gripper than my last snow sneakers.
They are well engineered to be both "slip on" and "stay on."

I read the reviews for all three snow sneaker boots - laced, velcro, and the pull-on. First, I do require a shoe horn to get my foot into the boot. I agree with other reviewers in their statement that they just can't slip into the sneaker or pull it on. I own a 18-inch long shoe horn. With it, it is easy-peasy to get my foot in. It is faster than tying laces or connecting the velcro (that will eventually stop sticking).
Once my foot is inside the sneaker, I'm a happy walker. I wore them the past two days at an ice arena event. The first day was cold, cold outside. My feet were comfortable with casual weight merino wool socks. My feet stayed warm. My feet did not overheat inside the arena. The flexible ankle facilitated walking up and down arena steps. The flexible ankle allows for comfortable driving. I find them comfortable for walking; however, I have not taken a power walk wearing them.
I ordered a half size larger than my casual shoes from an English manufacturer. This was a good decision based upon order L.L. Bean brand sneakers this summer. If you are a true half-size, I would recommend the half size increase. This provided more room for my toes to move around. My heel did not ride up.

I ordered a wide because I have a bunion and typically wear wide but it is too wide on the entire foot including the ankle so I will be sending it back for a regular width. I have had regular width boots with LLBean before and they fit like a jewel so hoping reg will be good.

I order about 98% of my shoes on Zappos.com and I am a VIP member.
I ordered 4 boots to try on, and right away send back what I don’t like.
I LOVE these LLBean Snow Sneakes! I ordered my usual size, 9, and 9.5 due to the prior reviews. I live in So CA and want these for rainy and chilly days. I wear normal weight cotton ankle socks and my normal size is perfect. If I still lived in my home state MN, and wore heavier socks I’d maybe choose the larger size…the 9.5 boots were doable if that were my need.
Also, the comments about it being difficult getting your foot in did not bother me. They do take a bit of effort to ‘slip on’…but then cuff opening will loosen over time.
Thanks for great service apps!!

These boots are extremely comfortable and no-nonsense. I got them because my new puppy is great at untying shoelaces and nipping toes. These are slip-on with almost indestructable toe boxes, so he can gnaw away with no visible impact on the boots!

I have been dealing with L.L. Bean for decades! This is the first item I have ever been disappointed with. It is VERY difficult to get my foot down into the boot as there is no "give" in the upper portion. I use a "pulley" to insert in the black strip to help. It is a painful process to finally accomplish what should be a simple task. Once in, the boot it is very comfortable and warm. It is somewhat difficult to remove my foot. My husband is working on breaking down the back and sides of the boot.

These boots arrived the day that we started 4 days of snow where I live in Utah and I could not have been happier! We've had plenty more since then and I've worn them on my pre-daylight walks in the neighborhood, trail walks with the dogs, trekking from the parking lot to my office on campus where I work and during my Saturday errands and they are 100% perfect. My feet stay warm and dry and I feel confident about the tread/traction. I always order Wide so I was glad that these came in wide width and I ordered 1/2 size up from there, based on other reviews. They fit perfectly with my orthotics and I have no trouble getting them on or off.

The first time I tried these on, I wore them all day with bare feet, no socks, and they were supremely comfortable and very warm right out of the box. And it was a really cold December day in Maine. I was outside for several hours and never had cold feet. I have sneakers that aren't this comfortable. Any dirty slush that gets on the light suede uppers wipes right off. All in all a great product. The micro suede upper is very soft, not highly structured, which might turn some people off if they are looking for a sturdy hiking boot, but that is not a problem for me.

Great beach boot but definitely hard to get on. very stiff opening and tight for people with a high arch. I wasn't sure I would keep them but I use a shoe horn and once they are on they are very comfortable. I have also noticed they seem to be loosening up a bit after several uses. True to size with a normal sock. Warm enough to not need thick ones.

This boot is very comfortable and fits true to size. The one problem I had was that I have one ankle that is fixed due to surgery. It is a bit hard to get my foot in as the opening is not as flexible as I would like it to be. A shoe horn does allow better entry into the boot. After learning that, the boot was just what I wanted. Zappos is an excellent retailer to work with as I did return the first pair for a bigger size due to the difficulty entering the boot. I usually wear an 8.5 and ordered a 9 first. I couldn't get my right foot in so I went a size bigger. It was hard at first but then it became easier, and, with a shoe horn, entry is easy. I haven't had to wear the boots in cold and snowy weather yet. The boots are waterproof and insulated which I hope will prove themselves to be.

Ordered usual 9W- fit was true to size with thin socks. Definitely need to size up to accommodate thicker winter socks. Shoe is lined with low pile polar fleece with a plain padded insole. I would like a fleece insole for added comfort and warmth. The collar is a stiff polyester knit and does have a little stretch but due to the style I still found the sneaker slightly difficult to put on. I'm going back to lace-ups.

I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I love the look, but the ankle is so narrow and inflexible beyond the stretch fabric that it hurt to put these shoes on. Returned them immediately.

I found this boot too hard to put on. Once I got my foot into it, my sock had been shoved so far up that my toes were smooshed.

I wanted these boots to work. They were the right height, style and warmth for me to wear around town and walking to ski slopes. I can't get my foot in the boot. It did not matter if I had thin socks, no socks, I was not going to get my foot in that boot. I do not have a high instep and have never had this problem before. As many have said before, it is a poor design. The tongue needs to be designed to open in some manner if anyone is going to get these on their feet.

I bought the snow sneakers a month ago and they turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. They are warm, waterproof and good looking.

Very happy with the styling, color and quality.
Usually have concerns with not being wide enough so ordered wide and had to exchange for medium.

The boots fit and are comfortable as well. I have a narrow heel and most boots and shoes slip at the heel. These do not. I really didn't have to struggle to get them on as others reviewed, but I do have narrow heels and trim ankles. I haven't been in snow or rain so I cannot say if they are waterproof. They are warm, attractive and comfy. I ordered my usual size (10M) in black. Love them!

These boots are very comfortable. I was unsure if I would like them but I do! They are easy to put on and I walked a few miles in them to break them in. There wasn't any snow but on concrete they were perfect. I would recommend them.

True to size, a little tight to get on, but would rather have them snug at the ankles to keep snow out.
