The boot fits like a glove. It is very manageable on/off despite the many laces. They loosen easily and back tab helps.

Looks better on than in photo. Great sale price for real leather. Works well for cool wet days hiking. Comfortable with wool blend boot socks & leggings. Difficult to get on/off especially with a high instep. Loosened laces for easier use, but one big negative is the laces are way too short if not tightened up.

Though these don't come in Wide, I gave them a try because so many comments said they run wide. The sale price was great so I had to take the chance that they'd fit. I have regular rain boots but these seem like they'd be warmer. I have wide feet, high insteps, and fat ankles so boots rarely ever work for me. I did have to unlace them quite far to get them on and they barely work with thicker socks. I got black and really like the contrasting lighter rubber banding.
These worked better than expected and I look forward to wearing them. I volunteer at a local barn so often work in muddy and wet conditions so that's what they'd get used for most.

I needed a boot with a wide toe box due to medical issues with my feet. Also a boot to wear that would grip snowy & icy sidewalks while I walked my dog which a rain boot doesn't always do. These boots met my expectations which I am thrilled about and feel secure in wearing them. As long as I loosen up the laces and use a shoe horn, I have no problem getting them on especially wearing heavier socks. They keep my feet dry as well. Maybe not the most stylish however they keep me and my dog happy. A 4 instead of a 5 due to degree of difficulty in putting them on.

Love these lightweight boots. They're almost like high top sneakers.

These boots are well made and comfortable. My only complaint is that they are hard to get on.

I love the look and river rock/loden color combination. These are basically sneakers disguised as boots. They are not really suited for long walks or hikes as they don't have enough support. Even 1.5 miles was too long. They are suited for sloppy weather around town. They are a little tight across the top of the foot, which I hope stretches and loosens with wear. They are warm and comfortable as long as you don't expect to hike in them.

I got these for a steal in super sale. They do run slightly small, as recommended I usually wear an 8.5 and got a 9 and they fit well. I've only worn them once in slightly wet weather so cannot speak to the waterproof nature of them yet. I got the grey and black which I like. My only complaint is that around the shin they press slightly making them a bit uncomfortable, but I am hopeful and do think they will break in. I have tried loosening them but that doesn't make a difference. I do not have big shins

Great boots, run a bit on the larger side and color not quite true to the pictures

Love the boot but it cuts into the top of my foot due to I have a high instep. I am hoping they stretch out if I wear them more.

Have not worn these yet, just tried them on, but these seem to be well worth the purchase! Was expecting them to fit wonky or be big in the toe area based on other reviews but they aren't at all. The only issue is that the seam where the upper part of the shoe meets the lower part at the end of the laces. It's sewn sort of small, so on one foot it is slightly uncomfortable at the base of my toes. Hoping since they're leather it will stretch. Other than that the lining is very nice, not too scratchy or thick. Wished they had them in the other colors though, the gray toe area isn't my favorite. Wouldn't have minded if it was black instead of gray.

I wish I could keep these but they are over an inch too long for my feet and the toe box is huge so they truly do look like duck boots unfortunately they make my small feet look clownishly large and will go back. But the quality seems outstanding.

I have anted these boots for ever. So when I saw the clearance price or 39.99 I jumped at it . Dispite som negative reviews of the boots looking like clown shoes .
They are wide which is exactly what I need. I wear a size 8 ,but have wide short to box. These boots were comfortable out of the box on a walk with my dogs. An warm despite the 18 degrees!
However these are the hardest shoe/ boot I have ever owned to get on. You need to loosen the laces almost all the way down and then use a shoe horn.
I took a star off for how difficult they are to get on.
They are beautifuly made and I'm sure will last for years.

I have two pairs of these boots. They are my favorite WALKABOUT boot for almost all activities....as someone reviewed, so ugly they are cute!! I HAD a gray/navy sole pair and I have a canyon/red sole pair. They're not too hot to wear most seasons, except during the dead of summer...however, the bottoms are VERY thin, the traction is great, but did I mention the soles are VERY thin!! Just walking in our yard, I stepped on a deer antler that is my dog's favorite chew toy...not even walking 'forcefully', just meandering along, and the tip of the brow point literally went through the sole, through the insole and into my foot a good 1/4"! I had a HOLE in my foot that took 3 weeks to heal using antibiotic and healing creams. Tread was so thin too they had gotten too slick for wet woody walks or dry slick grassy meandering. I threw those shoes in the trash, even though I had a good year's wear left in the uppers, if not more. I love the design and the fact that you can wear them in wet conditions, WALKABOUTS in morning dew, but the depth of tread is totally insufficient for the boots these boots could be. I'm nursing my canyon tan ones a bit and watching more carefully where I set my foot, but why not do something different with the soles next time around!! Really, they are way too thin! I wasn't even willing to send them along to Goodwill in case someone else did the same thing....too slick too soon, too thin to easily result in another puncture wound!

Purchased these in June for fall hiking. Bought my regular size 6 med. in the beige color. They fit fine until I laced them. Something was rubbing against my outer left ankle. It felt sharp as if it were one of the grommets but my ankle in the boot was nowhere near the grommets which were at the front of the boot. I felt & looked around the entire inside of the boot; even took the laces out, pulled the tongue forward and found nothing that could cause this rubbing. I had heavier hiking sox on when I tried these boots on, but I still could not pinpoint that sharp feeling. Sadly, I had to return them. The boots were beautiful, soft, well made...just this "invisible" sharp pain that prompted me to return them. Maybe I'll try to reorder them. Possibly one "odd" pair that got past quality control?

I bought these boots with high expectations to wear in the cold, snow, rain. When I received them I didn't like how they fit. I wear an 8.5/9 and got a 9, they fit lengthwise but they seem really wide at the toe box, narrow at the ankle, and just felt weird. I wore them around the house trying to get used to them, with the expectation that I would return them. Flash forward a month and I hadn't gotten around to it, an outdoor trip came up in cold snowy rainy conditions. I didn't have any other suitable shoes so I decided to risk it with these boots. The weather was mostly in the 50s but got down to the 30s-40s with snow. My feet were never cold, they never got wet, even walking on snowy trails all day. I wouldn't say they are rain boots or snow boots exactly, but they worked perfectly for semi mild conditions. I only slipped in the snow/rain once, so that's saying something for the traction! I wore regular socks, but with how they are too roomy, they'd easily fit thicker warmer socks. They looked good as new even after the snow turned to mud. I wore them the whole weekend even without having broken them in, and no blisters or uncomfort, except a bit where the top of the tongue is. So I guess they worked out in the end and I'm going to keep them. Love the color.

Boot is good but would rather have elastic or speed laces (hence the 4 stars). I have a hip problem & while boot is comfy, this boot's design seems to aggravate my hip so I can't wear them for their intended purpose of walking for an exercise program in winter. I'll try an orthodic insert to see if it helps. Loved the sale price & that boot is waterproof.

These boots are soooo cute. Even though they are a half size too large. I wish LL Bean would h give more wide options in shoes and boots for women if so I could have went down a size. That said I will keep them. I always buy a 9 from LL bean unless a wide option

They are very stylish, warm, and comfortable but I have trouble putting them on and taking them off my feet because of the stiffness of the soles. I have to use a shoe horn because it's a struggle.

Durable. Handy to have for walking in the rain. Maybe it's just the socks that I wore, but one day they were uncomfortable.

Love them except I wish there was a little more depth ( room from top to bottom of footbed) in toe box.

The review stating that the boot top is narrow and hard to get your foot into is spot on. This is almost a "three bears" story.........narrow in the leather upper and large in the rubber foot. I sized up as instructed but then swapped a 9 for an 8. Regardless, these will sell out.
