I used them on 5-10 mile runs outside with single digit windchills. They kept my feet pretty warm.

These socks are my go to socks whenever the temps drops below 50. A soft wool blend with and light cushion make them perfect for sneaker wear. The compression is light around the skin but just enough to not have them roll down the ankle. I would recommend these if your looking for a cozy sock that can handle an active days worth of movement.

Just used these for a snowing trail run this morning and they were EXACTLY what I was hoping for. Kept my feet warm (even in shoes that weren't ready for the snow) and dry. These are my new standard gear for winter runs, and I've purchased some for family.

I use these for cold weather running. Often running in single digits and below zero. My toes are never cold yet the socks are thin enough that they don't feel awkward. My oldest pair is three years old and still in fantastic condition.

I use this pair of socks during the winter months while working on a lobster boat. They stay in place on my foot while working and keep my feet warm, in insulated boots, most of the year.

They are thinner than I wanted. My other smarteool socks I purchased last year were thicker. My mistake

I really like these targeted cushion socks - just enough cushion for my toes and heels, and the lack of cushion under the arch seems to promote a bit of airflow. The stretchiness over the top of my foot really adds to the comfort and fit. I wear a size 8.5 shoe, but buy size Large socks, as I don't like them too tight, and these are perfect. #SmartwoolLove

Very well constructed: ventilation + cushioning in a thinner weave. Also, when taking off, there isn't any loose fibers sticking to the toes, even when worn all day. That is a sign of high quality. With the ventilation, no sweaty, -fiber filled feet ! Also, todays shoes & boots are so form~fitting that thick socks are useless today .

I don't run, but I used them when biking on a cold day, and they worked great; I also imagine that they would be excellent for nordic skiing, they are incredibly comfortable, and I even enjoy wearing them in my daily life. The fit of these socks are spot on, being very supportive though the mid foot and the perfect length for my size 9 feet. The targeted cushioning gives a bit more warmth than a zero cushion sock would but it's not a lot. If it were a cold run I'd probable use a light hiker but these are good for cool days. These slimmer profile also means the will fit in my cycling shoes on cooler days. Bonus: The sock is a plain solid color from the heel up so can be worn dressed up or down. #SmartwoolLove

Wore for the first time yesterday and don't understand the fit. Have been wearing Smartwool men's large for 25 years. The new unisex sizing is really hit or miss.

I bought these because I was looking for a cold weather running sock. By cold I mean colder than -10C. Unfortunately, these socks are not really any warmer than a summer running sock and I still need to layer thick winter socks (wool) to keep my feet warm at moderately cold temperatures. The other complaint have about them Is that they are TIGHT. More so I'm the ankle and lower calf than the foot region. Pulling them on is a challenge. Having said that they are comfortable to run in. No noticeable seams and they do offer some nice cushioning. I can't speak to how robust they are as I have not had them long enough but I can say that they don't have any holes in them yet which is better than some other socks I have used.
