I own a lot of Vera products and have a good bit of knowledge of them. I bought this in Go Wild when it launched and was pretty excited about it. Pretty sassy and fashionable. I really was hopeful because it would have been the perfect accessory to my new travel set of Plum Crazy/Go Wild. However, the day it rained- two days after I purchased it- it wouldn't stay opened. I'm 5' 1 and very petite, and it barely protected me from the rain. I got soaked on the way to work which wasn't fun. It wasn't a particularly heavy rain either. So it's considered a light umbrella with the same usefulness of a parasol. The pop up and close button was nice...in theory. However, it only works half the time. And usually it decides to pick the time when it's raining. Because when I left work and tried it again- when it wasn't raining- I was finally able to close it. I asked others who had Vera umbrellas if they had similar problems and the reviews were mixed. Certainly, it's not the sturdiest umbrella out there of its size. I wish the top opened bigger and the handle was sturdier. Vera please update! Until then, this looker isn't work the high maintenance. Exchanging for something that won't turn on me.

I purchased this umbrella. It opened once coming out of my office building then closed going into the guard shack at work. Exited the guard shack and it won't do anything. I was not a happy camper. So it's pretty pricey for only opening and closing 1 time before breaking!

Very cute but the umbrella is VERY cheaply made. I used it for the first time and it flipped up within a minute. I fixed it and tried to put it back up to use again but it was completely broken and wouldn't stay open anymore. Yeah it's cute but save your money. And bring a second umbrella with you everywhere you go because this one will break.

Pretty but turns inside out easily. The ribs are plastic and bend easily. Older Vera Bradley umbrellas don't have this issue.

I bought this umbrella for my daughter to use for school when it rains. She said it flips. So one day when she came home it was broken. The spokes broke. It is pretty. I buy backpack, lunch boxes ,wallets for my daughter here. It really disappointed me and her. I do recommend backpacks, lunch boxes , bags ,and wallets. But I dont recommend this

My umbrella, which I received in the mail from an online order, does not stay open. And, since I just moved, I doubt I'll be able to find my receipt for a return.

This umbrella is adorable! Unfortunately, it's also cheaply made and the handle length is crazy short. Unless you're 5 feet tall, the umbrella practically hits you in the head when you use it. One summer storm in Florida and this umbrella is toast. Returning.

Got my umbrella as a Christmas gift, was able to open and close it ONCE and now the button wouldn't work any more. I don't seem to be able to open it manually either. So disappointed!

This is the worst umbrella I ever owned. The spokes broke almost immediately. It's definitley not worth the price. Sad that it doesn't hold the usual Vera Bradley quality.

I received the cute print umbrella as a gift from my mother. I used it very little. Now that I live in South Florida I have an opportunity to use it more. After I opened it yesterday the mechanism refused to close. My husband had to jam it down (it took a long time) to close it so now I have a pretty, almost new umbrella that needs to go into the trash. So, no, I cannot recommend the VB umbrella.

I used this umbrella twice. The next time I tried to open it ,it would not open. The auto open/close refused to work. It was jammed and would not open. I wrote to your company about this problem and received no response. I'm really disappointed that you don't stand behind your products enough to even warrant a reply.

I have two Vera umbrellas but unfortunately neither held up to careful use. I have never had other umbrellas break like these have (I even avoided using them on windy days). Very disappointing because they are so cute & cheer up a rainy day.

I have purchased many VB umbrellas in the past so I wanted a newer pattern and bought one in Plum Crazy. What a disappointment to see how the quality has changed from what was a great product to a mediocre product. The handle is so flimsy and small that it is difficult to hold on to and the metal used is thin and weak! The open and close button does not work consistently. Please review this product for quality and stability!!! Buyer beware!

This umbrella is cheaply made for the price; it is not sturdy enough-not even the handle.I can buy one that is 50% less of the price than the VB umbrella and have similiar parts. I bought the Thirty one brand umbrella which its sturdy ,similiar design, little bigger than this umbrella and is a few dollars less.Ladies don't even bother to purchase this if you are going to use this product frequently.
