I have not tested backpacking yetbut for what basic storms I have worn them. They are light weight and water repellent. Full review coming this summer.

Great quality, solid pants. For most of the part is really rain-proof, from drizzles to moderate rainfall. However, in my most recent cycling experience in heavy rain (40-inch precipitation, been in it for 15-20 mins), humidity will start penetrate the one-layer pant and get to the legs. At the end when I got it off it feels as if soaked, though I know it still keeps water off.

Great rain/wind pants. This is my second pair. I especially like that they are light and easily packable. In addition, they fit over my regular pants if needed.

The waist size is perfect but a bit too long even though there is velcro and zip, it doesn't fit.

Great pants, good fit. This is my 4th pair. One for each of my kids and an extra for me.

This pants seem very useful for keeping out rain, but if you fall in them or get them dirty, it is very hard to get the dirt out.

Water resistance is good. Tested twice in the middle rain and it works well. The only downside is the pants run a little smaller especially the waist.

Waterproof capable pants, I just regret that waist adjustment holds by a small line as opposed to elastic.

comfortable, durable. A great all around rain pant for warm or cold weather. I highly recommend these pants.

They serve their purpose and perform well at keeping me dry. The fit around the waist is great, my only issue is that they're too long and don't have any other shorter option

Really nice pants, it's a bit long at the bottom. Would be nice if it had zippers at the bottom to secure the pants from dragging on the ground as you walk. Very comfortable and nicely made material.

I've had ample time recently to wear these rain pants. They kept me dry, and kept the wind gusts off my legs. So, they function exactly how you want them to. My only gripes are the almost too relaxed fit (WAAAAY more relaxed than they reasonably need to be even over multiple layers) and the waist tie being a little thin considering wet/cold hands are likely to be handling them. But...they do the job I need them to do and that's probably only 5-10 days a year.

Nice to wear, light and resistant. Definitely waterproof for wet climates, less wearable in summer hikes.

I have a part-time job as a horse crossing guard, the same as a school crossing guard except longer hours, but still I stand outside in all weather. My last pair of NorthFace rain pants lasted close to 20 years and these will, too. They are perfect for the job with zip pockets and the all improtant zip cuffs to allow for easy on and off over shoes.

i've ordered two pairs of these one size up and also my regular size. Over the course of two years both have ripped and the north face logo on the right knee have peeled off.
