I think I need the wider size, unfortunately. It's too snug even with laces loosened.

Need several pair to wear for 3 mile daily and 6-8 mile every other day walks: major ortho surg last year. Usually wear 7 in a street shoe, purchased 7.5. Length okay, had a thumbs width in toe, though left shoe was very slightly shorter. Medial instep sags slightly and heel slips a little. Tried several sock styles and snugging laces but did not resolve issues. Purchased both the Guide 16 and Echelon 9. Toe box is rounder than the Guide, but still too snug; maybe it stretches out idk, but with the other issues, it's just not the right shoe for me.

I bought them awhile ago , thinking similar echelon 8 and not as wide for orthotics wish they were like 8 ! Because love the 8 .

I can't give a proper review because I couldn't wear the shoes. They were too narrow, even though I purchased them in "WIDE". I had to return them.

The shoes are what I expected, minus the color. They're a dark gray.

Unfortunately these shoes didn't work for me so I sent them back. I'm thinking that although they were pleasantly springy, they were not really stability/anti-pronation shoes. Maybe I should try the Guide model. But also, they were too high around the ankle and so cut into my ankle bones and they didn't accommodate my orthotics well.

I wear size 8 sneakers usually, and these were the right size in 8 wide (I need more space in the toebox). They feel clunky and rigid, and arch support doesn't do much for my high arches. Overall they seem well made but just not right for me.

I have had 3 pair of Saucony Echelon 8s. They accommodated my orthotic and my foot which is wide in the front and narrow in the heel. The Echelon 9 is not the same shoe.. The toe box is narrower and after putting my orthotic in, there wasn't much room for my foot. I wore them in my house for about 15 minutes and had to take them off. I tried again on another day and had the same result. They were squeezing my toes which is not a good thing since I have hallux rigidus. I sent them back. I wish they had left them alone. It's difficult for those of us who need orthotics. You would think they could have left a shoe that takes orthotics alone. I am now back to square one and looking for shoes. Maybe this is a good shoe for someone, but not for me.

The insole was lovely and cushy but once I removed that and put in my orthotic the cushiness was gone. It felt like I was walking barefoot on the pavement. Sorry, I couldn't keep them.

These are a huge difference in design from all of the shoes in this series before. Super disappointing. These used to be my go to shoes for 12 hours on my feet. These ones fit narrower and have an odd curve to the bottom of the sole. They feel big and clunky and are not good for my long shifts. Please give me back my old echelons! :(

I bought this shoe based on Saucony's personal recommendation. Saucony told me that the straight last and extra roominess would accommodate my significant bunions. Even in the extra-wide, it didn't. I didn't find it that much wider than many other models. Even worse, the depth to be fairly shallow causing the uppers to impinge on my bunions. The shoe also feels heavy and clunky. The shoe didn't live up to Saucony's promise.

I have worn echelons for many years! Usually wearing them from the moment I wake up till the time I go to bed. It's the only shoe I could wear that did not cause foot, back, and hip discomfort. I will say the Echelon 9 come in many color choices was the only positive. The Echelon 9 design has completely changed. My feet are sore all the time and I long for the old design.

Saucony adequately designed for the inside of the foot, even enough for a bunion, but then pinched the small toe.

Returned 8.5w (too small)and 9.0w (too big). Past 4 yrs, 8.5W was perfect with orthotics. 5K runner. Back to hunt for the perfect shoe. Not this year for Saucony.

I think there is a problem with the left one and unfortunately I didn't discover it until on holiday. It is unwearable, which is a shame as it's the only runners I have with me. I have had other saucony and have not had an issue.

I ended up returning these shoes because they didn't work with my orthotics. I wore many pairs of the Echelon 8 for years and was very happy with that shoe. These shoes do not compare at all. The footbed isn't as deep as the 8 so my orthotics came to the top of the shoe, I couldn't even get my foot in. I have CMT disease and have a very hard time finding shoes that work, the new and improved model was a big disappointment.

The only thing positive about these shoes is that they accommodate orthotics. But they have no return, they area heavy, and the fabric does not breathe well, making them uncomfortable for walking or running. Such a disappointment!

These sneakers were so difficult to get on my feet due to the very hard heel portion, that I just can't keep them. When on they felt comfortable but my one foot kept getting swollen, so I guess I need to return them.
