Not a fan of the redesign of this shirt. The previous version of this shirt (of which I have several) seemed to be made of a better quality material and had a more comfortable fit.

I returned the shirts I ordered for two reasons: 1) They were incorrectly sized. Extra Large was quite small. 2) You have ruined these shirts by using cheap fabric. I have many of these shirts from the past which were made of much sturdier material.

Bought two shirts because of zipper pocket. First off, both shirts were heavily creased from packaging. I washed the shirts and literally the creases did not come out. Washed second time, same thing so I tried drying in dryer. Still did not go away. I ironed the shirts and had to use a hotter iron than recommended before the wrinkles finally came out and stayed out. They still look wrinkled. Really weird material. I have never washed clothes that after washing wrinkles do not come out.

I've worn Bean's Tropicwear shirts for years and I have always enjoyed the fabric and the fit. However, the new style is a downgrade. The mesh on the shoulders and the neck is irritating and the new fabric does not feel soft to my skin. The side zip pocket is just silly in a fishing shirt. I will just have to wear my old shirts until they turn to rags.

I didn't notice that the shirt is only available "slightly fitted," which made it to tight for me. I've been buying this shirt in Standard Fit since 2010, and I'm sorry it's not available in that size any longer. It was a perfect shirt for hot, steamy weather since it's light, wicks sweat away, and dries rapidly. Like other reviewers, I don't like the stamped-on logo as opposed to the old embroidered logo, and the "SPF50" on the sleeve is pointless and ugly.

You lost me on the chintzy paint LL Bean emblem replacing the nice embroidery in the past.

After reading all of the negative reviews on this shirt design, I chose to order two of them one size larger than normal (XXLT vs XLT). Upon receipt I was greatly disappointed with the fit. The overlap on the front was about 8 or 10 inches, much more than any other XXLT that I own, either from LL Bean or other manufacturers. I decided to return both shirts but reordered one as an XLT just for the sake of comparison. That shirt arrived a couple days ago, and it was too tight, too snug and felt like the fabric was flimsy, just as everyone has been complaining about for the past 12-18 months. What is the problem here? The XLT's are too small, the XXLT's are way too big (they must have been made by Omar The Tentmaker). There is nowhere to go except find another shirt manufacturer of a similar product! I am sadly returning my XLT bright mariner shirt for a refund this afternoon. I suggest that your design people verify that the production people in Bangladesh are using the correct patterns for this shirt style. It appears to me that someone, somewhere, totally screwed up a very popular product!!. If you can't make it right, don't make it at all!!

I bought this shirt maybe 3 years ago in blue, the fit & Style, the fabric was excellent. This offer was garbage in comparison. It's much smaller in fit and cheap fabric. I spent all my Bean Bucks on this poor excuse of the original. Shame on you Bean. Inexcusable! It's being returned, and no doubt it will take almost three weeks to get a refund.

My husband loved the old style of this shirt. Ordered the new one in white as the cream color is no longer an option. The shirt is thinner material and just not the same. Wish I would have stocked up on the previous tropicwear shirt for him :(

Ditto all the other disappointed customers. I have worn the older style for 15 years. Not happy with the change.

Love previous versions of this shirt. Bummed that the shirt was redesigned. Much slimmer fitting and lighter material. Had to return both. Previously purchased and still wear XL but XL in this new style was snug.

I bought a Regular Medium short tropicwear shirt at the end of the season (November) to see if I could now wear medium shirts. I wished I had ordered more, because this is not the same shirt. That shirt was great, but this seasons "new" shirt is terrible. The materials is clearly inferior, and the "new" medium is too small. I do not think this shirt would stand up to working outdoors. The yoke on the back is not designed to cool the wearer. Tropicwear implies outdoors in hot weather. Clingy tight shirts are better suited for nightclubs.

I, like other reviewers here, have been wearing LL Bean Tropicwear shirts for decades. The old version had a relaxed fit throughout with a substantial weight fabric that draped comfortably away from the body. I could order a new one from time to time and be assured it would fit just right. This new version is too tight, too stretchy, too clingy. I was so happy to see LL Bean brought back the color White, after years of none available. I ordered 2 of the white and two in the new colors. However, all of these are being returned. Very disappointing. What were you thinking? Couldn't leave well enough alone?

The new version (2022) of my favorite Tropicwear shirt is 71% polyester versus the previous Tropicwear that was 71% Nylon. So it looks cheaper, feels cheaper and size runs much different. Very disappointed! Bring back the old version Please!

I've worn these shirts for years and love them, and was excited to see new colors (especially coral), so I immediately bought 4 in different colors, all S/S in size XL Reg, thinking they would be the same shirt just new colors. Sadly, I was mistaken, as the new style is totally different and not in a good way. The XL Reg new style (which in the old style fits me perfectly, I'm wearing one now!), was so small it felt like a L (or M). I really thought the shirt was mislabeled, so tried another one but same thing. The so-called 'slightly-fitted' is more than slightly, I could not wear it and had to return all four... Please offer a Traditional Fit version of the Tropic wear shirt, or bring back the old style...

I have bought these shirts for years. I do not like the new design change with "UPF 50+" now printed on the left sleeve. This is unnecessary, doesn't look good, and detracts from the shirt.

Well, i have purchased these for 5-10 years. the husband leaves for a trip in 10 days. The Large has always been a perfect fit. ordered 2 of these new ones without really reading the description. They are 1). Too tight. 2). Too short. 3) A new flimsier fabric. 4) They are going back and we are not happy.
