We bought this shirt a month or so ago. I do NOT like the collar snap downs. I like to undo the collar for washing. I am afraid I will rip the snaps out when i undo them!!!

the mid section is more snug compared to the flannel tropicwear. the small loop in front of left shoulder continues to be missing. I found this loop to be very useful.

I bought this to replace a couple of very similar shirts from LL Bean that I've worn for years (they held up, well, but were just getting tired.) I like that the pockets have become deeper, and that the flap with Velcro can now be closed over a pair of glasses. However, the right-hand pocket has an extra "change pocket" for small items inside. Because that pocket is at the rear, when I try to put anything into the main pouch, it catches on the small pouch & won't get in.

Great material and nice shirt, but medium was to tight. I am 6'1 175 and frequent the gym. The medium just fit a little too tight and didn't feel like the old model which was perfect for me in medium. Returning and will try a size up.

I have been buying these shirts for years they wash & dry well comfortable to wear love the colors the new ones are tapered more so there's a slimmer look to them but still fit fine I like the stitching on the sleeve it adds to the look I would recommend goes nice with jeans and shorts.

I love the shirt. It looks good plus it's extremely comfortable. My only objection is it seems to retain the wrinkles from the original packaging. Even after washing and drying 3 or 4 times, I can still see wrinkles in the sleeves and along the front. These are the exact same wrinkles I saw when I removed it from the plastic bag and unfolded it. Maybe they will eventually go away.

Too bad they chose to make the logo so prominent. It detracts from an otherwise nice shirt.

In all fairness the material, quality and delivery are great but the fit is not so hot. I guess i have a different idea of what XL should fit like. Will i wear it? Sure, but bang for the buck? Like everything else, way over priced.

Bean' s "Slightly fitted" equals one size smaller than their historical sizes.
These are FANTASTIC SHIRTS but how about NOT making everything "slightly fitted" or at least offer traditional fit and sizes. If purchasers work out or do physical work most of your sleeves can't be pulled over forearms, bicep/shoulders way too tight and I'm only average fitness. I have six of the earlier versions of these GREAT shirts and the new version fabric feels much thinner I worry won't last as long.

The sleeves on this are so small around they fit tightly around my biceps with my arms relaxed. I'm a big guy, but no body builder. It's a shame because this is a really nice shirt. Bean shirts usually fit wonderfully but these sleeves just aren't workable.

It's cool it this hot humid climate but the material isn't a soft as the first of this type I bought a number of years ago. It was a synthetic material but has a much softer more comfortable feel.

Not as well made as prior generation. Fabric is too light and I'm not a fan of the snap down collars. I probably have 10 versions of this shirt in the prior version. I'll be looking for something else in the future.

I ordered this shirt because it said the shirt was a traditional fit relaxed through chest sleeve and waist however when I received the shirt it states on the label slightly fitted. Shirt is nice but not what I wanted.

When I saw LL Bean advertising 3xl shirts I had to order a couple and I got the Polo Shirts. Outstanding product great fit. Then I ordered 2 Tropicwear shirts in 3xl tall. No consistency in sizing between the two styles. Beware of the slim fit in tropicwear! Not a 3xl tall

XL is a bit tighter than previous versions. My dimensions are the same.

I bought this item in early July 2024. The sizing on the updated version (slightly fitted) is drastically different from the previous version (traditional fit) - by inches. (Note, I own several of the previous iterations of this shirt L/S and S/S.) It is also inconsistent with other S/S shirt sole by LL Bean (e.g., their slightly-fitted seersucker shirts, which fit perfect). Also, the shirt is out of stock for the year in the size I apparently need. I will be returning.

The shirt fits fine. The style is my favorite. The PRINTING on the front and sleeve is most annoying. Who needs to know it is SPF50 as it is stamped on the sleeve? The Bean logo is printed above the left pocket instead of embroidered, which my other six shirts have so beautifully sewn.

As a life long LL Bean customer, where quality has been it's trademark, it appears to me that it has become a retailer where you pay more and get less.
The Tropicwear shirt is primarily Polyester (Cheaper) and not Nylon. It feels slick like "Disco" wear not LL Bean outdoor/fishing wear. It it's construction and stitching looks and feels like a discount knockoff of what LL Bean used to be. This is not the first time has occurred but appears be a trend in its short sited path to profit.

Snap collar buttons are way below extreme quality products I have experienced from LLB over the past 25 years. From now on, button down.

I normally rock 2XLTs from LLB but thought I'd get some extra summertime room with these. Wrong! If anything they may be slightly smaller than the 2XLTs, and have dumb features like zippers and velcro everywhere and a bizzare "SPF50" logo on one sleeve. Really? Absolutely nobody cares.
Also get in your mind that nobody ordering a 2- or 3XL wants "slightly fitted". Good grief.

Not the quality of previous versions of this shirt. The fit tends to be on the small side, and the design is not the same as previous versions.

This years version of this shirt is no where near the quality of the previous edition. This shirt does not come any where close to the previous design. Will not buy again.
