I bought a medium since that was the recommended size, and it was okay until I wash it... Carefree Unshrinkable Tee? No way!! it shrunk quite a bit... I will exchange it for a large.. The Finish and color are great love it. I recommend buy one size up

L.L.Bean sizing is like none I have ever encountered before, I wish they'd take the sleeves of the large maybe even the XL and put it on this shirt. Does anyone in product testing wear watches anymore?

No shape. Way oversized for 2x. More like a 3x. Neck was tight for a bigger size

I first bought a large and it was to big. I returned it for a medium and it still fit big in the arms. I paid shipping twice and am now just stuck with a shirt because I don't want to pay shipping a third time to return it.

Although the colors are dull and drab, the material and construction are good.

Bought 3 ls t-shirts. Different colors, same size. Each one fits differently. Same review I gave the last t-shirts the same review. I would think LL BEAN would monitor their vendors closet. This has always been a problem with the t-shirts.

Quality of unshrinkable tees has changed. I have been purchasing these tees for many years and in the last year I have found that the ribbed collar waffles after a few washings. This did not happen before, but has happened with the last 3 tees purchased.

Unshrinkable, not the sleeves. Nice material, soft, good fit at the neck. I like them snug for cold weather, would like a bigger, taller collar. I'm stretching out the sleeves, but it might be a losing battle?

Very nice fabric, but way, way too wide for someone with an even slightly slim or normal build. LL Bean, please offer these in a tailored or slim fit! Twenty-somethings, teens and those with average builds deserve quality shirts, too!

The white color appears yellow when placed next to other white clothing.

I have been buying Men's Carefree Unshrinkable Tee, Traditional Fit, Long-Sleeve shirts for over 20 years. This purple shirt is noticeably smaller and tighter. The description says 100% cotton fabric but that does not include neck- and wrist-bands which have some kind of lycra incorporated. I hate "tight" anything and these parts never get any looser. Probably great for most people but I liked how the cuffs would loosen after a few hours of wear. It may be just this color, I hope so!

The shirt fits well and did not shrink. It is very warm and comfortable. The only negative is that there have been 2 long strands of stitching that have come loose, and I have only worn it 4 times. We do not have a agitator washer, so don't know what is going on. I do like the shirt though

On first look, this is a good, high quality product, as expected. Unfortunately, I appear to now be somewhere between an XL regular and L tall. With other brands, I can usually wear either an L or XL -- fits just fine. I'm finding the current Bean line fitting a little tight and, as has become typical, the sleeves are barely long enough out of the bag. I'm sure this will shrink some, likely putting it in the give-away box due to three-quarter sleeves. I think Bean shirts are no longer for me. Larger sizes are way out of proportion. I'll bet they fit some people just fine. I'm about 5-10, 190 so, nothing particularly out of the ordinary.

I almost always like the look and feel of L.L. Bean products and this long-sleeve tee-shirt is no exception. the color is vibrant and the material is thick. The problem is that after two washes, there is already a hole worn in the cuff; and I have had this problem before with this brand. I used to buy their turtleneck shirts but ran across the same problem. These are not exactly the lowest priced products in the marketplace and so this problem of quick wear should be looked into. The confusing part here is that the material seems to be of high quality. I have, by contrast, very thin and cheap tee-shirts that sometimes last a year without the seams fraying or holes appearing. Is it possible that the manufacturing process is not equal to the high-quality fabric? I can't say what the issue is, but I'm rooting for this brand, and so I hope one day they figure this issue out. (Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong. If so, I can't figure out what it is and why other brands seem to work out differently for me.) All that being said, if one were in a fix and needed something sharp-looking for a short duration, this product would then be a good deal.

It is a great shirt, and I have many of them, but the color wasn't the one I wanted. It was a darker shade of blue than it looked on the website. I had purchased an early one, and it turned out to not be the same color. I think the earlier one was called ocean blue, but I could be wrong.
I love LLBean and have purchased at least 50 shirts from them over the years. They are so consistent on the sizing. I always get large, and it always fits. My only complaint is that sometimes the images in the catalog and online are not truly the color of the item. I'm guessing they have really bright lighting when they take their pictures which makes the color look lighter than it actually is. I know that sounds picky, but I'm a detail-oriented person and that's why I like LLBean in the first place.

I bought three of these shirts with confidence recently because I have at least a dozen LL Bean t-shirts (long and short-sleeved) purchased over the years which I still wear regularly.
Thankfully, I ordered Tall so the sleeve and body lengths are okay. However, these shirts are small (tight in chest and waist) and this seems to be a pattern with Bean's shirts. (A few years back I purchased four thermal/mini-waffle shirts, which promptly shrunk and remain uncomfortable to wear).
I am unsure what the problem's root cause is with the recent purchase: If is the sourcing nation; the run of material used; changing product dimensions; or "unshrinkable" cotton that is, in fact, shrinkable. I wash my clothes in cold water and dry using a cool setting. I have lost 30 pounds over the past 18 months so weight gain is not the issue. The fact is, my old Bean t-shirts of identical size fit better and more comfortably than these new ones (but they're beginning to show wear & tear).
I truly hope the company is not taking the less-expensive route and compromising the quality of its products for the sake of cost. Several of your competitors have done that over the years and they no longer enjoy my business. I will gladly pay extra for quality and a consistent, reliable product. I'm down to just three companies for my daily/active/outdoor gear --- Bean don't fail me now!

Nice long sleeve Tee Shirt...
But even when following laundry instructions, the collar seems to curl or "pucker".

The fit in the body and sleeves were fine but, the length was short. Wish it was about 2-3 inches longer. The tee washes well with no shrinkage.

The long- sleeved tee is not the same material as the short-sleeved tee. The short- sleeve tee is soft pima of a quality that is hard to find in a tee. The long -sleeved tee version is not the same quality, although probably better than other brands out there (but I returned the llbean one I ordered).

Bought a large which is my usual size and it was huge. Returned for a Medium which fit - until I washed it (cold water/tumble dry on medium setting). All three shrunk including the arms and wrists. Now I have to return them for the large, which I hope shrinks! Boy, they got this one wrong.

I am on the slimmer side with a long torso. Thought I would get the tall version for around the house.
Had to immediately return the product.
The fit was not at all flattering. Like I put on a giant sack. The arms around the bicep area was just way too large.
I also thought for something that is sold as tagless, there would be no tags. I guess technically there was no tag around the neck, but there is a tag around the side stomach/torso area.
The material was nice and heavy however. Good for a winter indoor shirt. But sadly the fit was just off that I had to return the shirt.

I've been buying these shirts for years but I noticed a difference with the last order (and also the short sleeve versions) - the material doesn't seem to breathe. So, when I wear them and get warm, the shirt stays totally dry but my body gets quite wet with sweat. The sweat runs down me in beads. That said, everything else about the shirt has the same quality (fit, durability, look, etc.). So, I would still recommend them but with that caveat. To be fair, I don't see this mentioned by anyone else, so, maybe it's just me?
