I purchased three of the Carefree Unshrinkable, and one developed a spotting down the front, and nothing was spilled or splashed on the shirt. I am not happy with the shirts.

I got these shirts to work in the yard. While the fit and texture are fine, the shirt doesn't breathe. It's like wearing a plastic shirt, with sweat building up inside and nothing reaching the exterior. The shirt must be treated with something to keep it "carefree". Big disappointment.

What ever happened to the great American T shirt? Well, it's gone for good it seems. Shirts now have morphed into something too thin with too elastic a weave. Plus, they are just not particularly comfortable anymore, because they are scratchy and hot wearing. I do not want a form fitting, elastic, hot shirt for layering or showing off my pecs, I just want a shirt which is cool, with a thicker, coarser weave. I returned it.

first time I ever had a problem with size. Ordered Large/ extra long. Fits like medium/ regular length. Too tight around neck and arms. Cannot tuck in. Useless to me. Quality is never a problem. Checked label says it is what I ordered. Tried wearing it for the day as it was a gift and thought it would, perhaps, relax.

I got these tees for my husband because they have pockets. The edges of the neck is too close to his throat. It's a bit uncomfortable. This is the only negative comment from him.

I have been wearing their pocket tee's for 20 years now. I wear them around the house until they fall apart. They are great Tee's but the latest is by a new venodor. A Large Tall is actually a Medium Tall and an extra large is actually a Large Tall with an extra large waist. In other words they don't fit tall shoulders like they did in the past.

I've purchase many t-shirts (more than 50) from Bean during the last 10 years and have always been pleased with product and value. I regretfully write that I will no longer purchase these shirts in light of the roughly 30% increase in price in a time period less than 1 year. Bottom line is that these shirts are now over-priced. Who needs a "stain resistant" feature on a dark blue or black t-shirt? Give me a good, everyday, t-shirt that is comfortable and price it reasonably.

I have purchased many a tee shirt for my husband from LL bean, and recently have found the quality of the material in the tee shirts does not seem to be of the same quality. The bottoms of the shirts seem to curl and they shorten after washing. The collars stretch out... Not very happy with these shirts anymore.

They look good. They don't wrinkle, but whatever they put on them to make them wrinkle free makes me sweat like no other tee I have ever worn. And, the sweat does not penetrate to the outside of the tee. It is like wearing a plastic shirt

I have been purchasing LL Bean T-Shirts for a long time now because I need tall sizes. I still have t-shirts I have purchased from LL Bean years ago and I have noticed they are longer than the one I recently purchased. It's a nice shirt but unfortunately the size does not work for me anymore.

These are generally very nice, sturdy t-shirts, but please be aware that to ensure the "carefree" characteristics, the fabric has been treated with something that prohibits the shirts from breathing and from absorbing moisture, so they are very hot in warm weather. If you drop water on the outside, it beads up and rolls off, but it also does the same thing to sweat on the inside. It's almost like the opposite of fabric that wicks moisture away from your body. Fabrics that wick moisture move it through the fabric and away from your body, where it can then evaporate. Even plain cotton t-shirts get sweat-soaked, which eventually evaporates. These shirts trap any moisture between the shirt and your body, so it cannot evaporate. It just stays on your body and runs down into your pants! The shirts literally never absorb water, so they trap sweat and are very hot. Even when I'm not sweating, they seem to make me very warm - it's like body heat can't penetrate them either. If you live in a warm climate, I don't recommend these at all.

Why not keep the quality up and increase the price if necessary. I have been buying LL Bean tee shirts for years. These latest ones feel thinner and lighter. I weighed one of these new shirts on my kitchen scale compared to one I purchased a couple of years ago. New one was 7.75 oz compared to 8.5 oz for the two-year-old model. Very disappointing.

evidently the sign of the times for llbean is making shirts tighter than ever and for me more uncomfortable -- the fabric also does not seem to breathe as well as my older cotton ts

The neck opening is a bit too snug for me. My biggest issue is that the fabric doesn't breathe well. I get sweaty much easier in this shirt than in other 100% cotton t-shirts.

This shirt fits well, does not shrink, and the pocket is great. The trouble is when I sweat wearing it; it feels like I'm wearing a plastic garbage bag. The fabric does not seem to get wet but sticks to my body; thus no thermal cooling. The fabric is 100% cotton, but seems to be treated with a chemical to prevent shrinkage or to keep wrinkle free. It is great to wear casually - just don't sweat!

These are very nice tee shirts, fit well, good quality, great color selection, even somewhat water-repellent. But, they do not "breath" well enough for a guy like me who, if he's moving, he's sweating. Very uncomfortable. On the other hand, my wife loves them.

I have bought these shirts before and have been very happy with them but this time the fabric is different. After just one washing they feel soft and will not iron flat. The colors also faded out ever so slightly after this one washing. Sad, this is not LlBean quality I was used to, I'll be looking elsewhere next time.

The shirts are nice...but each has the seam coming out and threads hanging down....it is difficult not to pull the threads or fix them...so the whole seam comes undone.

LLBean offers only one type of men's T-shirt with pocket but this doesn't live upto the LLBean quality! It is soft but non absorbant. Thus a good workput or work in the sun makes the situation so uncomfortable that one has to take it off. I am disappointed. Why doesn't LLBean understand that with regard to T-shirts sweat absorbancy cannot be compromised. Having a wrinkle-free quality (which itself didn't work well) cannot be at the cost of breathability, absorbancy, etc.

Well - the shirts USED to be a good fit - now they are poorly fitted and after just one washing the shirt lost all shape. What a shame - I wonder what happened?

For what were supposed to be 6oz cotton t-shirts, I thought these were on the thin side. We are considering returning them.

My man finds these shirts comfortable except for when he is on the job. He's a renovator and carpenter. He has found that when he's working, the shirts capture perspiration and don't let it evaporate, so they're not too comfortable for time on the job.

While this t-shirt is labeled 100% cotton, it does not breathe as well as cotton. It feels more like a poly-cotton blend. I can tell when I wear the t-shirt at the gym.
