I've been buying this same t-shirt for years, but in the last year something has changed. The fabric does not breathe anymore, so whenever I wear it, I end up being covered in sweat and very uncomfortable. It says 100% cotton, but it can't be. Very disappointing as this had been by favorite t-shirt.

These shirts are a bit disappointing. They run large and are heavy and shapeless, not at all up to the quality I've come to expect from LL Bean. Wearing one of these shirts is like wearing a cloth sack.

My husband is a larger man, so choosing the 2LXT shirt is always best. He can tuck it in and have nothing exposed. He's a 40 waste, so not extremely heavy. Everything about this shirt is extremely nice except the neck. LLBean dropped the ball here. You cannot take a larger man and still keep the same small neck size on this shirt. Needless to say, the shirt looks like its choking him and gives the impression he's in a tight shirt around the neck. If LLBean would fix this neck size to a slightly larger opening this shirt will reflect a 5-star rating. Otherwise ladies please be warned, the neck is extremely small for the larger cut man. We are keeping it and stretching it to see if it will give over time? IF it doesn't I'm returning this second shirt I ordered but haven't yet opened.

The comfort of these tshirts are completely dependent on your surroundings. cool, breezy, and shaded? They're great! But one the humidity rises and the sun comes out, it's like wearing a garbage bag. Somehow it manages to trap all the heat in your body and reflect it back at you. Sweat puddles up and your day is ruined.

These use to be my go to t-shirts but not this year. Very few color options. Need more standard colors (red, blue, green, etc.). Not a fan of the heather colors. I'll check back next year.

Wanted this T-shirt to use as sleepwear. Asked rep, who indicated very soft and pliable. I found it stiff, rough in texture, and not soft at all. LL Bean discountinued the more expensive gray T-shirt that I found perfect. This did not work as a substitute.

Well I tried these because Bean did not have any of the similar tees for women they used to have. Sadly I had to return them because they just were too long for me. Please bring back unthinkable tees for women.
Only good for men

Fit and initial quality are fine. HOWEVER, the deterioration of the neckline is visible within 8 to 10 wearing and washings. I purchase the Unshrinkable-T to wear under another shirt OR alone; instead I find them useable only as old work shirts to be worn only around the house. Given the price, I would expect something more durable.

I used to buy the Large size in the 'Slightly Fitted' style. Since that is no longer available and knowing from earlier experience that the regular Large is way to blousy for me, I ordered the shirts in a regular Medium. Unfortunately, the Medium was too tight across the stomach and chest. Guess I'll have to find a different short-sleeve tee.

T Shirt fits well and is soft and comfortable to wear. However, the neck of the t shirt wrinkles in the front and appears to be stretched out. I bought a couple a year ago and both shirts wrinkled. I bought one more this year, thinking the original was just a bad batch, but this wrinkled, also, after being washed and never worn. I would not recommend this item.

I have bought the t-shirts for years and have always been satisfied until recently. The ones that I have ordered in the last year do not compare to the other ones. The neck size is larger and they stretch out of shape too easily. Not happy with this. I will look for other t-shirts now.

I mistakenly washed the T shirts in hot water in the first washing and they shrunk considerably. The internal instructions
in the shirts state (wash in cold water) In my opinion,
sweaty underwear should be washed in hot water. No more
white,expensive T shirts from L.L.Bean for me.

I have bought these T-shirts for years, I have some that are over 10 years old and despite the many wash and dryer cycles they don't feel anywhere close to as thin as this new one. The new version is so thin, I can feel it when folding laundry without paying attention.
Please bring back a decent weight T-shirt!

The material is much thinner and lighter. Where is the much better quality as shown before? I switched over from another brand name for the same reason and now it seems I have to look out again.

in all probability, the T is as advertised. However, it is bulky, oversized, and unwearable under most sweaters, sweats, etc.
Would have preferred to have more disclosure about its bulkiness.

This carefree stain-resistant fabric does not breathe the way clothing should while worn during exercise. New tee shirts actually trap heat & moisture inside and quickly become uncomfortable to wear once you begin sweating. Version sold in 2012 was a much better product!

These shirts would be fine, except for the "stain resistant" nature of the fabric. It repels moisture, which includes, surprise surprise, sweat! Which makes these shirts very uncomfortable on warm days. And they never feel good even on cool days, just tolerable. LL Bean's pima cotton t-shirts are a world apart, just amazing, but they have a very limited color selection and are more expensive. LL Bean used to have a good basic t-shirt, but since switching to this fabric, they're awful. Avoid.

Ordered a medium shirt based on the sizing chart provided above (Chest 38-40), when I tried it on it was huge.... when I contacted customer service to exchange it for a smaller size the representative told me that for this shirt a medium is actually a 44 (???) and a small is a 40. Just a heads up for others looking at this shirt. Quality seemed good, but sizing was way off. Now I'm out the $7 to pay for the exchange because the chart was wrong.

I purchased 16 of these shirts between April and May 2015. Fit and color were fine. They have held up quite well after 2 years of wearing them every day.
Two problems: The button collar type has no pocket like the standard t's have.
The second problem is they don't breath. If you work hard and sweat the shirt stays dry on the outside but all the sweat stays between the shirt and your body, which is quiet uncomfortable.
Therefore, they are not suited for men who work hard and sweat a lot.

I have been an llbean customer for many years and am generally very satisfied with my purchases. I recently purchased an unshrinkable t-shirt. When I tried it on the neck felt very tight. When compared to the same t-shirts purchased in the past, the neck was a full two inches smaller. Perhaps something has changed in the tailoring process to satisfy a much younger customer set but I am no longer going to be buying my t-shirts from llbean. Not sure where to go since I wear a tall shirt.

I have been buying t shirts from LL Bean for over 20 years. I must have bought more than a hundred of them. And I always was very satisfied. I ordered a large and it fit perfectly. For this order of six shirts, however, it is clear that the company has changed the sizing. The six shirts, some short sleeve and others long sleeve, are all larger than in the past. The are wider and longer. Frankly, I cant wear them without looking like a clown. It would have been appropriate to inform me that this change had been made. Unfortunately, I will now need to look elsewhere to obtain a consistently sized, good t shirt.

I have been buying these shirts for many years and have always been satisfied until last two orders. The material is somewhat scratchy feeling. It is certainly not soft and smooth as in the past.

I have been buying these t-shirts for over 20 years. They have been a relied-upon item for all of that time. BUT UNLESS THE QUALITY IMPROVES TO ITS PREVIOUS LEVEL, I WILL NOT BUY THEM. When these arrived, they felt lighter. I washed them; wore them. Still seemed lighter. Looked through them in not bright light -- WOW "I can see right through a LL Bean t-shirt?!" Last year's not so much.
Then, did a closed-eyes test with my spouse comparing last year with this year: "thinner, lighter."
I would very much like to see a tangible response from the company on this one.
Kind of sad to see a great item decline. Wouldn't it be cool to see the company say something like, "yes; we noticed. Next year, the reliable quality will return."

I have purchased these t shirts for 20 years and won't purchase again. Collar height has been lowered, material is thinner. Why pay $18.00 for a 5 dollar shirt. Very disappointed.

Have been buying these pocket Ts for my husband for years. But a few years ago he started complaining that the hem threads were coming out leaving the hems flapping. I sewed some and got tired of that. Returned some and I appreciate that LLBean's guarantee works but WHY are the hem threads not as good as in the past? I see this in LLB's Ts for women too. My cheap Hanes Ts still had original hems after 10 years when the shirt itself rotted away and they became rags.
