I purchased 16 of these shirts between April and May 2015. Fit and color were fine. They have held up quite well after 2 years of wearing them every day.
Two problems: The button collar type has no pocket like the standard t's have.
The second problem is they don't breath. If you work hard and sweat the shirt stays dry on the outside but all the sweat stays between the shirt and your body, which is quiet uncomfortable.
Therefore, they are not suited for men who work hard and sweat a lot.

I have been an llbean customer for many years and am generally very satisfied with my purchases. I recently purchased an unshrinkable t-shirt. When I tried it on the neck felt very tight. When compared to the same t-shirts purchased in the past, the neck was a full two inches smaller. Perhaps something has changed in the tailoring process to satisfy a much younger customer set but I am no longer going to be buying my t-shirts from llbean. Not sure where to go since I wear a tall shirt.

I have been buying t shirts from LL Bean for over 20 years. I must have bought more than a hundred of them. And I always was very satisfied. I ordered a large and it fit perfectly. For this order of six shirts, however, it is clear that the company has changed the sizing. The six shirts, some short sleeve and others long sleeve, are all larger than in the past. The are wider and longer. Frankly, I cant wear them without looking like a clown. It would have been appropriate to inform me that this change had been made. Unfortunately, I will now need to look elsewhere to obtain a consistently sized, good t shirt.

I have been buying these shirts for many years and have always been satisfied until last two orders. The material is somewhat scratchy feeling. It is certainly not soft and smooth as in the past.

I have been buying these t-shirts for over 20 years. They have been a relied-upon item for all of that time. BUT UNLESS THE QUALITY IMPROVES TO ITS PREVIOUS LEVEL, I WILL NOT BUY THEM. When these arrived, they felt lighter. I washed them; wore them. Still seemed lighter. Looked through them in not bright light -- WOW "I can see right through a LL Bean t-shirt?!" Last year's not so much.
Then, did a closed-eyes test with my spouse comparing last year with this year: "thinner, lighter."
I would very much like to see a tangible response from the company on this one.
Kind of sad to see a great item decline. Wouldn't it be cool to see the company say something like, "yes; we noticed. Next year, the reliable quality will return."

I have purchased these t shirts for 20 years and won't purchase again. Collar height has been lowered, material is thinner. Why pay $18.00 for a 5 dollar shirt. Very disappointed.

Have been buying these pocket Ts for my husband for years. But a few years ago he started complaining that the hem threads were coming out leaving the hems flapping. I sewed some and got tired of that. Returned some and I appreciate that LLBean's guarantee works but WHY are the hem threads not as good as in the past? I see this in LLB's Ts for women too. My cheap Hanes Ts still had original hems after 10 years when the shirt itself rotted away and they became rags.

These used to be my go to t's because the material was great and they would wear well. They are now making these out of a different material and it itches and I hate it. Never understood why you would change a good thing. Change it back.

9 months old, seldom worn and never for more than 8 hours before washing. It went in the Goodwill bag.
Collars darkened and frayed and curled up. I have bought literally dozens of these Bean t-shirts of the past 10 years, and these one failed the quality test.

Great T-shirt for autumn, winter and spring here in Florida. But pay attention to the reviews that talk about sweating. In summer, this is about the most uncomfortable shirt I have ever worn; the fabric does not permit water to wick through it, resulting in sweat and fabric plastering themselves to one's skin. After more than a dozen launderings the anti-stain treatment does not lessen. Chose a different item for hot, humid climates.

Ever since LL bean decided to add the chemical coating it totally ruined one of the best brands of t-shirts . The t-shirts (XL Tall pocket tees) were perfect for someone that's tall. I couldnt find many other shirts having a good fit and material. I recently ordered on to see whether or not they still fit. And, to my frustration, the shirt has been ruined.
LLBean: You've seen the many reviews of people having problems with this chemical coating. PLEASE revert back to the older shirts. At least offer the shirts without this terrible coating . It ruins it.

These shirts appear to be very well made, feel soft to the touch and fit nicely, except for being a little too tight in the neck. I have to agree, however, with other reviewers who have commented that they are not as comfortable as they could/should be, as a result of the treatment that is used to give these shirts their stain resistant characteristics. Even after washing, the shirts don't breath like an untreated T and they repel water--it literally bounces off of the surface of the fabric. I feel the results when wearing these shirts on warm days. Because perspiration, like water, is repelled by the fabric, sweat beads up on my skin under the fabric, rather then being wicked away by the cotton fibers. Not pleasant! I may be able to live with these shirts during the cooler months of the year, but I'll shelve them during the summer.

I have a few of these and would buy more except for the ill fitting neck. Shirts really require breaking in. Lots of pulling and stretching of the neck and washings before they stop pinching. They are tight out of the bag and tend to stay tight even when washed in cold water. And I do not have a particularly thick neck. Most other comparable T-shirts have a neck that's not so high and not so tight. Colors are frequently interesting but recently red choices are not so good. Bring back Mountain Red which works with everything. More color choices please and please fix the neck

I buy three or 4 of these T-shirts almost every year. The last year or so the ones I have bought have ended up with sagging out of shape necklines after 3-4 washings It is like the neckline material will not hold its shape. Something changed in the last year or two because I never had the problem before. See pictures for examples.

My shirt is a light tan, nothing like the white shirt I ordered. Not returning though, but stay away from "white" if you are looking for a white tee. Also, this tee seems more baggy (M) than other colors of this same shirt that I have purchased. I see other complaints about this color.

I ordered 4 of these t-shirts in white and they are everything LL Bean described them to be with the exception that they have a yellow cast after they are washed. My whites are pure white but these t-shirts look yellowish beside them. I wash all of our clothes in a gentle detergent as per Manufacturer's instructions and the t-shirts have only been washed with other whites. So if you don't mind a yellow cast, then the shirts are wonderful. I imagine the coloured ones would not be affected.

This T shirt used to be of good quality. After production moved to Viet Nam the quality of the stitching is not very good.

I have loved these T-shirts for years, but these new treated T-shirts are horrible. They need to stop treating them for stain resistance chemicals because they have ruined them.

This shirt achieves its properties with a chemical that renders the cotton more like a synthetic. Try mopping up water with it, and compare it to plain old cotton. Worn, it is less breathable and amplifies body odors in the way that a synthetic tee does. Oh, right, it doesn't wrinkle or fade. It'll last forever, too -- mine sits in a drawer. The Adirondack tee is much better.

Bought these a few months ago. Soft and comfortable like the write-up says, but the "Butter" colored tee has faded after just a few washes and is now not wearable

Just got my gun metal grey Tee w/pocket and wish I had didn't. Lousy gun metal color. Too blue-grey looking. YUK. Hate blue/grey. It's the worst of the "greys". Darker, more natural-looking grey would have been better. Also, not crazy about the finish. A bit shiny. Not very flattering. I noticed Bean offers some T's in a heather material/finish. Not too many color choices, however. Some dark colors like black, charcoal and navy, perhaps. The heather may be a better choice than those that are not. Got a black Tee coming that was back ordered. Not looking forward to it's arrival. Nice too see the Tees are made with some length but I think they're still a bit too long.

I have purchased many LL Bean products and this t-shirt twice over a two year period. The initial purchased shirts were really great fitting and wear a long time, in fact I still wear the initial 3. But this years purchase I find have too much elastic in the neck to the point of seeing curling of the fabric below. I sent one back and have been sent a new one, but the replacement is just as bad as the new one in green color that I purchased. And now the new gray one is doing the same. I think I will probably send all of them back. Too bad such a great product has either been designed differently or changed the fabric to such and inferior product.

This shirt is very uncomfortable. It is tight around the neck and flows out like a tent around the waist. I finally realized that it is cut for a skinny man with a big gut. I have a slight athletic build and the shirt fits terribly.

I used to shop here more...This tee is an example of how so many good companies are selling less quality. Just fair and not much better than discount department stores. Too bad. For lasting quality, you have to order the more expensive shirts...they are still good.
