I ordered two of these t-shirts in Large Tall. Everything was fine except the difference in length between the two was an incredible 2.75 inches!! Where is the quality control?

Garment is made of nice material, but the fit is all wrong for me. I am a 33" waist, 45" chest and round the biceps, 17". I wear large T shirts from every major brand, and sometimes even XL or XXL from some European brands, but this large T shirt was like wearing a tent. The sleeves were far too long, passing my elbow, the length hit mid thigh, and it was far too wide through the torso. Sending it back.

This t-shirt fits like the old style decades ago. Large fits me fine. With newer ones made I actually take an X-Large. Very unusual. It seems newer t-shirts are "metro" sized. Narrow and skinny like putting on a tube sock over your torso. I return all those. Not this one. Wide, slightly loose, comfortable "working" fit.
The only thing I don't like is the material. New "velvet" like cotton that does not breathe. Slightly warm weather or a little work and you are drenched in perspiration. Worse, it starts sticking to your skin all over. Older t-shirts of mine never did this and I tested it in the same conditions. They breathe and actually hold their form and fit better being the "non-velvet" type cotton.
LL Bean, please return to the older style cotton used decades ago. I consider t-shirts to be working clothes. You can use these for casual wear or to the bar. Just hope you don't have a flat tire on the way otherwise you'll show up like you took a swim in it.
If this were made with the older type cotton used, I would look nowhere else for a t-shirt. The weight or ounce material of it is perfect.

First off, I really like(d) LLBean t-shirts because of cloth quality, and they are not yet those real thin, cotton stretchy t-shirts being sold by many stores today. However, I found that the Tall size t-shirts are a couple of inches too long for my 6 foot frame, and I am thinking about going back to Regular size in the future (but those can get to be too short after about 50 washings which is why I switched to Tall size). The t-shirts do last a long time and keep shape and color.
One other minus is that the cloth on the latest t-shirts I bought (and the ones being reviewed now) really holds the sweat so don't expect a good wicking if you sweat a lot. I live in Florida heat and humidity.
Other than these 2 minuses, the t shirt colors are true and the fit about the shoulders and neck is good. I will most likely buy again in the future.

Looks good in heather gray, but neck surround is thicker/wider than competition...slimmer is more appealing to me. Fit is not what I wanted...it is a stretch t-shirt. No advertising description describes this as a stretch tee which misleads the purchaser. It is not loose around the waist, it is tight which highlights the belly. For a youth, this is optimum, not for majority of adults in my opinion.

I buy this T-shirt all the time. The fit is great it lasts very very well except for the neck collar which will get completely out of shape after a short amount of time
I know this is a common complaint but I hope LL Bean has worked on it. We will see and I would not recommend it unless the collar is fixed. We will see

I have bought several Ts over several years in many different collars. The fabric changed 2-3 years ago which impacted the collars. My shirts older than 3 years are just fine. The shirts 2-3 years old have a smoother fabric and all the collars are becoming stretched out.

I purchased several of these Tees over the years. They always start off great but after a few washings the collar ripples causing the shirt to look worn. If you're using these for work shirts I guess they're fine. But for casual wear they just don't make it.

I Have some of your your unshrinkable tees--after you wear and wash them a couple of times the collars crimp and pucker--their look reminds me of the ruff collars popular in the Elizabethan age, probably not
the look you were striving for--

I would have given 5 stars but LLBean has changed the material in this shirt and it's not as heavy as it was before. I also miss old heather colors.

I have been buying these t shirts at least 20 yrs. Recently purchased 3. After fewer than 5 washes 2 of neck bands are getting wavy. You know, like they are 10 yrs. old. Like most things it seems as if LL Bean is letting quality slip. I will shop around before buying these again.

I bought this shirt in two colors. One fits very nicely. The neck opening in the other was too small and I had to return it. Buying a shirt in two colors should not be a size gamble!

I've purchased several of the Carefree Unshrinkable T's from LL Bean in 2018 and I agree with what a few other reviewers have mentioned. Most of the material on the shirts is a nice weight that will probably last for years, and the fit is excellent, but with each shirt I have purchased, the collars of the shirts turned into the wavy "bacon collars" with the first time they are in the washing machine and dryer. For me, it's happened regardless of the color of the shirt (gray, blue, black, red, olive green, etc) and I followed the washing and drying instructions exactly as the shirt tags say. It's almost like the collar is made of a different material than the rest of the shirt. I still like the shirts and the collar issue hasn't stopped me from ordering more. Yet on a t-shirt that costs over $20, I guess I wouldn't expect the bacon collar issue to occur so quickly. I have a few 100% cotton Jockey and Hanes T's that are over a year old, cost less, and do not have bacon collars.

Material is fine but the neck opening is too big for the size.

Based on one sample, this Tee fits more like a large size than a medium.

Shirts seen to be running smaller than in past orders. I get a 2xl so I can wear a t-shirt or something underneath and it is difficult with these new shirts. Feel as if you dry them and they will shrink and they feel more like an XL then a 2xl.

I've bought these 'Carefree Unshrinkable Tees' over the years but the cotton fabric on my latest purchase seems different. A denser weave, a shinier surface, more smooth, less soft. Not nearly as nice as they used to be. Why can't you maintain consistency in your products?

I like these tees. I have bought several over the years. But the last few I have purchased, the collars will wrinkle after washing. I follow the washing instructions, but even ironing them won't help. It seems the only part unshrinkable is the collar!

I am a female & wear this T-shirt under an LL Bean men's sweatshirt to sleep (not sexy, but super comfy & warm). I like the fit & feel of the T-shirt. I wash it a few times a week. I find that the T-shirt starts to get holes in the material sooner that I would expect for this quality & price. I will continue to purchase until I find something better.

I like these t-shirts for fit. But they don't breathe. I wear them when I am not going to do heavy outdoor work because I don't like the clammy feeling of accumulated perspiration beneath the shirt.

Overall good tee with plenty of room and soft. After one wash the collar wrinkles up. I have two shirts and both did the same thing. I need two more, but will not buy LLBean until the problem is corrected. I can't wear under a polo because of the collar.

I like a medium to heavy weight cotton t-shirt summer or winter........would Beans start specifying the weight......or maybe you did but just did not notice? Need rich brown colors and soft muted greens....olive.....moss perhaps the heathered form might make colors not glare as much....more preppy if that is important any more?

This is a really hard review for me because I want to love these shirts and mostly I do. I've been buying these shirts for years and have probably purchased well over a dozen. They last for years and can be great. My concern is with inconsistent sizing. I've noticed some shirts fit great others are a little tighter and what I see most often, some shirts even in the same color, are shorter in length. If it were not for the inconsistent sizing I'd give these shirts 5 stars.

We ordered two of these shirt, one in navy and one in Bering Blue. The Bering Blue was huge around the torso. If you have a huge tummy, this is the shirt for you. The navy was more of a traditional fit. What a difference! Same size, same item number, just different colors. Very disappointing.
