I'm a longtime fan of LL Bean's t shirts but the shirts I recently purchased are not acceptable for hot weather. They do not absorb sweat - instead the sweat just hangs on your body. If you're not going to sweat, the shirts are fine.

I love these T shirts with pockets and have many but the color selection has decreased. No more bright colors, particularly yellow. Several nice blue but not always available. Collar gets frayed too easily.

Normally L.L. Bean t-shirts have a similar "feel" regardless of the particular color of the shirt. Not so with Bean's latest iteration of the carefree, unshrinkable tee. While all of the shirts are embossed with an inner label reading "100% COTTON, MADE IN VIETNAM" my recent order consisted of three shirts in different colors. The shirt in the color "sapphire" has the traditional breathable, smooth finish and is a winner. The two other shirts were in dark gray and light blue, and both of these had a fabric that has a soft, spongy consistency, and a clammy, polyester-like feeling when worn. Please note that I am not disputing the fact that the shirts are cotton, only that something about the way the cotton fabric in these colors is treated results in them having a different feel which is less comfortable and breathable, in my experience.

I've purchased several of these tshirts but the last three had collars that lost the shape and look wavy

One of the problems with this shirt is the collar. It does not lay flat and after one washing it looks a bit streched and wavy. The Black faded after one washing... as much as I liked the feel and the fit of the shirt I think I am going to look for a different company going forward.

My husband has llBean tee shirts that he love, so I didn't hesitate ordering these online. However, the neckline was much higher and tighter than his other tee shirts, and he felt they were very uncomfortable so we had to return them.

Great material is being used and so far the color hasn't washed off either nor shrieked.
However, the fit isn't very flattering; the shirt is rather stiff so it makes one look rather boxy. Take that how you like.
Although, you might like that fit!

Well made but fit like a Large and very long as well as wide. I wish you would bring back the "slightly fitted" version.

The quality of LL Bean merchandise has went "bye bye" when their lifetime warranty did. This shirt is not half the quality of my 10 year old collection of Bean tee's and henley products. The only thing that is good is the color and fit. The material is thin and the collar is somewhat different. I've purchased higher quality tee's for 30% to 40% less from a Minnesota Company and a working mans company. I guess that when your brilliant board of directors cut the warranty, they also cut quality too for profit? Old Leon Leonwood wouldn't stand for it today!

I have bought T-shirts from LL Bean for a long time - over decades. The older ones seemed to me to be better in material and resilience. The new ones I just got, that I have been asked to review, do not seem as good in keeping their shape, or in cleaning.
That is, the newer T-shirt models they do not resist stains as well. I already have two stains on the light-blue T-Shirt. I noticed I dropped something on the front at lunch and laundered it immediately but the stain persisted. Also the collar of the new Tees stretched out quickly where the older ones I had retained their shape much longer and better.
The newer Tee's material seems thinner, but I actually like it better, and I like the colors of the new T-shirts better.

My favorite colors were white and light oatmeal. I purchased a lot of whites andI used the white as undershirts. Why did you discontinue? I purchased fitted version, but this option too has been discontinued. Why?

Overall, this is a nice shirt. However, unlike others who say it's too large, I found it to be way too small. Size XXL Tall. Sleeves are way too short on my long arms and torso is tighter than I like.
I've noticed all the clothing I've ordered from LLBean lately has fit too snug. Hope they go back to the generous sizing I used to get from them.

My husband cannot wear the t-shirts because the neck is too small/tight (he doesn't have an unusually large neck). It is very uncomfortable. Apparently the t-shirts are well made because he isn't able to stretch out the neck to make them wearable.

I've purchased theses tees before, and been very happy with comfort, fit, and durability. However, even after several washes, I'm still detecting a chemical smell on the black short and long sleeve shirt. Questioning if something has changed here with dyes or fabric or ???

At 5'11, I'm not exceptionally tall, but do have a longer torso than average. I like to wear my t-shirts untucked, and struggle to find t-shirts that fit right - non-tall t-shirts end at my waist. I prefer not to keep my stomach and back covered when I bend over or raise my arms. On the other hand, I find most tall-sized t-shirts are so long that they could double as dresses (or they're just huge around the chest).
I first bought one of these a couple years ago. These t-shirts are just the right length. HOWEVER, after a few washings, the collar began to "pucker" (ruffle). I thought perhaps I'd pulled too much on the collar or gotten a dud, and ended up buying 3 more over the course of the next year. Every single one does the same thing.
I'm stuck buying these for now and ironing the collar, until i find something better, but considering the price, I expected more of Bean.

Collars puckered after first wash.
Neck seems disproportionately smaller than rest of shirt.
Returning.

I've bought a dozen of the same shirt in navy a few times....it's great and I thought I'd pick up a few in gray. The gray may be 100% cotton but it's a different weave or in some way a different material resulting in a heavier shirt. I expect it to be A LOT warmer than the navy come summertime and it's a little scratchy to boot. I've had a similar experience with sweatpants from a lower quality retailer but I didn't expect it from Bean.

Liked the heavyweight material used in the body of the shirt, seams are nicely done as well. The main drawback of these t-shirts is the collar or neck area. It is undersized and lightweight compared with the rest of the shirt and after a few washings the collar itself is wrinkled and certainly not a good look. I will be returning the two shirts that were washed about a half dozen times.

I have a whole drawer full of LL Bean pocket Tee's both long and short sleeve. I really like them except for the collar. Really awful. Check it out. You have other complaints also. PLEASE fix. collar is very poor but I like every other thing about LL Bean pocket Tees. I would recommend to a friend but with a collar warning.

The quality seems lower now than in the past. For example, the neck collar got discolored after ust a couple of washings.

Had purchased these t shirts before and the material on this order seemed a little different in quality. There a little heavier and not as soft as others that I purchased. They also fell a bit larger then the large size I bought previously.
