My husband says the size runs a little too small. It's a little bit too light to be a 3 season jacket.

After waiting well over a month for this jacket to arrive, I was overjoyed to receive it. Style and such was great till I tried it on. I wear Bean 2XLT on all shirts and jackets but this one is the 1st one purchased that is not true to size. Firstly it looks great on but when you to zip it up its very snug....when you put things in the pockets it actuall makes the jacket feel like a XLT...way too snug in the trunk area. Unfortunatly there is not a XXXLT in the sizes of this item. This was my choice for the warmer weather and theres no other jacket in the catalog that fits the bill!

When I ordered the jacket it was on backorder and I wasn't expecting to receive it until early May. I received it about a week after order... much faster than expected. The jacket is well made. I expect high quality items from LL Bean and was not disappointed. Would have rated it 5-stars, but there was one fairly large negative. The fit across the back and through the shoulders is more narrow than any jacket I have ever owned. I am 6' tall, 235 lbs with an athletic build. I sized the jacket based on the website instructions and the jacket BARELY fits my shoulders. The rest of the jacket fits well so it's still wearable, but it's not optimal. I would have sized up had I known, which is why I'm writing this review... to let others know. Understand that I do have wider shoulders than normal so you may not experience the same fit issue as me, but I've never had a jacket cut so narrow through that area. If you consider yourself to have wide shoulders (if you know, you know), size up when ordering this jacket and you won't be disappointed. Now you can't say nobody told you :)

So, I have been buying LL Bean products by mail in Pennsylvania since 1967. Two items I always purchased were the 3 Season Jacket and the Warm-Up jacket. The 3 Season is PERFECT for spring, cool summer and fall. It is lightweight, water proof, wind resistant and great for cool, windy or rainy weather. But then they stopped making it! My size changed, so I had to purchase used ones on e-bay. I and you should be happy they are selling it again. A really great lightweight jacket.

It's a great jacket, just the right weight, light but warm, comfortable; only complaint, I don't need four adds for LL Bean on the jacked, label and tags on three zippers. Spare me.

Nice jacket. Looks good. Too soon to tell much about durability. Sizing is questionable. I've worn extra large for decades. I ordered this in extra large and had to return it - way too small. Replaced with 2x and it is better, but still tight.

Buy one size larger than normal. Large is more like a medium.

Good quality jacket, however, I have always ordered an XL in most LL Bean purchases and this jacket I could barley get it zipped up. Finding that true of other LL Bean items purchased recently. Tried my older LL Bean jackets (XL) and they are almost too big. Will return.

Great new jacket. I think what you have here is the classic LL Bean "Warm Up" jacket, but with a smaller "bomber" style collar. I say that because in the past I had a "Warm Up" jacket and I think it was exactly the same item except for the collar. I am 6-1 and weigh around 163, so, yes -- skinny or athletic if you will. I ordered a medium because "Tall" sizes are usually too "fat" for me. This -- just as I remember the "Warm Up" jacket I had maybe 10 years ago -- fits fine in the length but is made for someone with much more of a stomach than I have. I wish they offered a "fitted" version but I guess LL Bean knows their audience. On the one hand, it's a lot of extra material (for me) around the middle; but on the other hand, this jacket doesn't have much insulation, just a thin layer of fleece in the chest area, leaving the arms with no insulation, only the outer nylon and the inner lining. Because of the ample size though, I find I can fit a very light down vest, even a down jacket, inside this. Thus on very cold days I could wear that combination and be nice and comfy. They call this "bomber" I assume because that sounds cooler, but I think a more useful name -- since it's nylon and not leather like a classic "bomber" -- would be Baseball jacket. It reminds me of the jackets you see baseball managers wearing in the dugout on cool nights. I've realized that, as in the photos, it probably looks a bit better unzipped. With your hands in the pockets you can push the jacket together crosswise and take up some of that extra material, if you're skinny. Anyway, overall, nice design and well made. I hope it's a hit and LL Bean sells enough of them that in the future it makes sense to offer a fitted version for the many LL Bean customers who are quite active and athletic. In the meantime, this is a nice jacket for spring and fall nights here in Southern California.

Not the best of my LL bean purchases in terms of quality. The blue ends on the sleeve are not LL bean quality and stitching is average. The warm inner layer could have extended onto the hands / sleeves as well. Overall fitting is ok. The color looks brighter in the picture. In reality it's dull.

I purchased this jacket in 2022. It is a nice jacket, perfect weight for spring and fall in Michigan. However, the teeth are falling off the zipper and the jacket is no longer functional. I ordered another identical jacket. Hopefully this one will last longer. If not, I will be looking for another brand.

I was looking to replace my great L.L. Bean shell (item #299787), which very unfortunately is no longer available. But nothing that I could find seemed to be the same kind of light men's jacket. The chat agent recommended this bomber jacket as the best option. I can't see anything wrong with the jacket itself, but it is definitely not just a shell - with a fleece lining that makes it too heavy for warm months.

I have many pieces of clothing from LL Bean and I'm satisfied with everything except this jacket. The stitching is very poor and the material is extremely thin and cheap.

The jacket seems to be of high quality, but it could use some more room around the midsection. I am of average build and the medium size fits me well in the shoulders and the sleeves, but I find it a little too tight when zipped (which has also been the case with other jackets I've bought at LL Bean, so I assume it's an intentional design decision). I would have bought more than one in different colors, but due to the unfortunately tight fit, I think I'll just make do with the one I have. Not worth returning, but not worth buying more either.

I bought this jacket because I liked the style and color. It's to replace a LL Bean fleece lined warmup that faded badly. I thought it would be of similar weight and insulation thickness, but it's not much more than a lined shell. The inner breast pocket is bigger, which is a huge Plus, and I really liked the color (wish they offered this color on the warm up jackets), but the jacket is just too light weight, so returned it.

As it is 95 to 100 degrees now in North Texas I cannot review this jacket for anything beyond fit, which it did. When October or later arrives I may be able to wear the jacket and determine how warm it is.

Nice jacket but ran small so had to be returned. Customer service wanted me to pay for return even though it wasn't my fault. Not a good business policy.
