I was looking for a good lightweight rain jacket for hiking and such in Iceland, temps between 40-70F during my time there and it was excellent. There was some rainfall throughout my entire time there and this help up just fine! Only time it got wet was during heavy waterfall mist+rain and even then it dried off quite quickly. My new favorite jacket!

Bean's Mountain Classic Anorak was my go to jacket on a recent road trip through the desert southwest. It proved light, warm and dependable time and again. Highly recommended.

This is a great light jacket. It is perfect for spring or as a layer. My wife and I each have one and love it.

Great true size to fit, a hood is always a plus. The anorak half front zip is very practical. The nylon windproof shell works. The jacket washes without issue, and is water-(resistant) as advertised. I'm not clear about previous reviews of whom had trouble with washing issues and were mistaken regarding the fabrics water-resistance, not water-proof.

I have been a devotee of the anorak since my teenage years. One of my first L. L. Bean purchases was Bean's Labrador Parka (p. 33, Fall 1973). But even the small was too large for an under 5-foot-tall junior high student. It was returned. By my counting, this is the sixth anorak I have owned. I liked the insulated one I bought last winter so much I decided to have the same for the rest of the year. Anoraks are very windproof and snugger than other jackets. The handwarmer pocket is great for gathering things, but it has real utility. It was designed for a backpack belt to be run through it. By doing this, the belt doesn't close off access to the kangaroo pocket. This is because the belt attaches behind the pocket. Pretty clever. I have not found this design anywhere else. A Bean exclusive?

Good light-weight jacket. Wear it with just a tee shirt in 50 degree weather. If wearing with a heaver layer you may need to size up. Resists light rain.

My husband loves his new anorak! He has worn his original LL Bean anorak for at least 30 years, and it still looks great! Don't know if he will wear this one for 30 years (he's 86) but I swear he looks twenty years younger when he wears the new one. The best item LL Bean sells!

Love these jackets so much. I would personally recommend sizing up for a bit of a looser fit since the fabric doesn't stretch too much. I wish they were a little bit more water repellent but overall get a lot of compliments on the jacket and is great for a wide temperature range!
