Perfect ski base layer. All you need under your ski pants or ski suit. I wore this under my ski suit and I was comfy and warm all day long. It managed my temperature and sweat perfectly in the cold and humid weather while skiing in Vermont. I highly recommend sizing up if you have wider hips. I am a size 2 and the small was pretty snug. Might not fit a size 4.

Love this base layer! It fits true to size and hugs my body without the extra bulk. As merino wool should, these keep me warm when it's cold and cool enough in warmer temps. The material doesn't have much stretch to it, but that doesn't bother me, as the sizing is correct. As others have mentioned, the reinforced knee fits above the actual knee which is a bit odd, but not really a big deal to me.

Love the fit, high waist, knit texture and color. My fav base layer! Velcro on snow pants should be avoided tho, they snagged up pretty bad from that little accident.

I live in western NY between several lakes where it gets very cold. All my life I've used wool u til I discovered smartwool. Now my days of cold winters are warm winters and I'm 52. Get your smartwool and forget cold exists. Yay me!!

I bought these for a backpacking trip to Haleakala crater in Maui, where temps could range from 30-70F with high sun exposure. I wanted something light, breathable, warm, comfortable, sunburn proof, and ...also cool? It was an almost impossible list of demands on a single item of clothing but somehow these delivered. When temps were cold, these were warm. When it was warm, these let in air and helped keep me cool. They felt a little itchy when I first put them on but aftera few minutes that went away and it was only, nice, comfortable warmth. I'm 5'2" so they bunch some at the bottom like all do, but not so much that it caused a problem with my socks. The waist is smaller than some leggings I have and might dig in for some women, but worked great for me, and helped keep these babies up. I love these things. I only wish Smartwool had the matching top in navy. Maybe that's coming or just temporarily sold out.

These are a little lower-waisted than I would necessarily prefer, I like high waisted pants and am tall, but still fit well enough. Having never purchased a smartphone base this is lighter and thinner than I expected, but I don't think that will make it less warm since. Will be easy to move in, and will layer great for skiing.

I'm a curvy gal with a smallish waist and large booty, who often has a hard time fitting into outdoor/sporty gear. These are so stretchy and amazing that I think they would fit every body shape! Highly recommend. Such incredible quality!!

These thermals are better for athletic endeavors, especially in the knee area, and for cycling but they are tight enough to warrant sizing up.

So warm and comfortable! I've been a Smartwool socks fan for years, but this was my first pair of Smartwool base layers. Fits perfect and is comfortable for all day wear. Got them for skiing, but I frequently work outside for my job and they're great under my jeans as well.

Fantastic fit and comfort. Soft, stretchy, nice waistband and just the right thickness. Still feel warm and comfortable even when my ski pants leak! I'm 5'6", 138 pounds and purchased the medium.
