This is my third pair of women's intraknit thermal merino base layer bottoms. I sleep in them and wear them around the house instead of turning up the heat. Amazing that you've figured out how to have a medium that fits someone who's eternally between a "small" and a "medium" (124 lbs, 5'3"). They are really, really sturdy. I got these in advance of a trip to the S. Hemisphere winter.

Super lightweight base layer that keeps me warm while snow camping and treking. I was worried I would never find thermals that would actually keep me warm but these do more than that. If I am not in the snow I start sweating. Perhaps that isn't a good thing for all but for my job that requires me to backpack in the snow these are perfect!

Super warm. Great for cold ski days. I also use them country single digit days under shell pants.

Loving the intraknit base layers, the higher waist is perfect and they move well for downhill skiing.

I've used these pants for my base layer for skiing and snowshoeing and LOVE them! Perfectly sized and comfy. Price is high but no other complaints!

I wear my Intraknit Themals under my pants, by themselves at home. They wash well air dry fast and I also have the matching top with contrasting white sleeves which is just perfect.

Extremely comfortable to wear. Does an excellent job of keeping you warm without being to bulky to move. Fits well under the jeans.

I love the quality and warmth of these Smartwool pants. The merino wool feels soft, durable, and does a great job keeping me warm in cold conditions. Warmth and material quality are definitely standout features that justify the premium feel. The XL is a bit snug for me. Smartwool base layers and thermal pants are designed to fit close to the body so they can wick moisture and trap heat efficiently. That snug fit is intentional for performance but if you prefer a looser or more relaxed fit, that can feel limiting.

I like the design. Thickness for Antarctica but not bulky to wear under snow pants. Comfortable without compressing me. I think it will work for me.

Plan on using them for everyday life on cooler days. So far very comfortable. I bit long for me, and the waist is a bit tight (I'm very narrow through the hips Asian body type), but I think they will be great for cooler days

I have a small waist (26) and large hips (39) and the M fit perfectly. Waist was nice and high on me. I'm 5'4 and found the length fine. Would be good for someone with longer legs than me though. Great layering piece that kept me warm and comfy.

The weight is just right for moderate to cold conditions. Breathable weave allows for plenty of circulation and comfort. Fits true to size.

Love these so much that I bought another pair. I am super sensitive to wool being itchy. The first couple hours were rough and then they were great and they keep me warm and dry after sweating.
