I jackets like this...you can layer up and don't have to wear a heavy bulky coat!

Holy Smokes!!!! I had no idea what i was buying when i ordered this. It may be thin but it keeps me warm. I live in New Hampshire. Yup... burrrrr and this does the job on cold days. Not windy days. However!!!! I layered this with my normal winter shirts and my heavy winter jacket. This combo even kept the wind out. I have broad shohlders and rather busty. I knew it would be a smidge small putting it on, however, it moves fine.

I bought this to replace an old LL Bean pull over jacket of a similar weight . I wore it to death and loved it, so was happy to purchase this new one. I bought mine a little large as i may want to put another layer under it and I have plenty of room for that. I may take the advice of another reviewer and purchase another in a smaller size to wear in the spring and fall when you just need a little top layer and something light, like a t shirt under it. Being 5'2" the regular size is long on me, covering my bottom which is what I wanted. I love the small zippered inner pocket in the pouch. I can put my glasses in there and they will be safe from rubbing against my keys and phone. The zipper and hood is designed perfectly for coverage and warmth. Brilliant! Over all a great addition to my outerwear options.

I picked this coat for cold weather hiking and walking because it's warm enough for cool weather on its own and can be worn in very cold weather with layers. It fits well with a baselayer and medium weight sweater under it. I also chose this coat because although it is not the regulation florescent orange for hunting season, it is bright enough to make me visibly not a turkey or a deer in the woods and more visible on the road. (Why doesn't LLB sell hunter orange and high viz gear?) The DWR finish works well in all but the heaviest of downpours. I wouldn't exactly call it a performance coat, but I've noticed that even when I'm sweating I don't end up with that swampy feeling. And because it's not down, it washes and dries effortlessly. My only complaint is that the hood, while close fitting around the face opening, doesn't have a drawstring so while the jacket as a whole keeps the wind off, it blows into the hood which means you really need a balaclava on cold blustery days. Some people complained about getting it off: just grab it from the top and it comes right over your head, usually without totally destroying your hair.

Bought this for winter layering - so far the weather has been fairly mild (40s-low 50s) and I'm really pleased with how warm this is. The jacket itself is extremely lightweight, so it doesn't feel like it would be so warm, but it is! First full day of wearing it was while I was moving, so I was in and out carrying boxes in mid-40s weather and was totally comfortable. I feel cold pretty easily and I'm really impressed. I've gotten multiple compliments on the jacket's look and I make everyone feel how thin it is. Get it! In other store's sizing, I'm usually a size medium. At LL Bean, I wear a small. The small is comfortable to wear just over a t-shirt or over a sweater or sweatshirt.

I love this jacket! I actually ordered 2 different sizes, the Regular large is perfect for wearing with a T-shirt or a long sleeve shirt in 45 to 50 degree weather! Then I ordered an X-large petite that is roomy enough to put a light fleece or sweatshirt on underneath for 25 to 30 degree weather! I ordered the petite because of sleeve length!

Weather permitting, I walk 3 miles every morning in my neighborhood. The average temperature these days is 34 F. I wanted something warm with a hood that looked good. My size is petite which limits many of my choices. This jacket is great and fits my needs. Wearing the jacket makes me feel more than ready to take the brisk walk that starts my day!

I'm of athletic build and the medium fits me great. The deep zipper is helpful in taking it off and on. I wear this solo or with my shell and it's perfect for temps around 20-40 depending on my level of activity.

Love this jacket! Perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities. Originally ordered a large but happily had to exchange for a medium. Would definitely recommend.

I ordered the red and blue because I wasn't sure which color I wanted. I kept both. I get compliments every time I wear them, especially the red! They are both my 'go to' jacket.....great for weekends and running around. Ordering them for Christmas gifts!

Perfect for misty windy weather (today) or as a layer under my Parka in subzero blizzard (tomorrow!). Thanks for the inner zipper cell phone pocket! That's great and the muffler style hand pocket makes this perfect for dog training! I can hide a lot of toys in there! Also the red makes me feel safer roadside or during hunting hours. Love it!!!

I got this in the blue. It's a VERY NICE WARM PULLOVER! I got it a tad large as I could have gotten away w/a M. I wanted it bigger so I can wear some layers under it and that I do. It does have a drawstring at the bottom so it can be pulled tighter to make it more form fitting. I tend to wear this more then my coats now. It's an easy "to go jacket." Take it and slip it over your head and out the door you go. I find it to be warmer then some of my winter jackets probably due to having no open front on it and the drawstring at the bottom of it. I wear this Everywhere! Even around my house now w/my flannel pants on at night relaxing....It's very versatile. I love the LARGE front pocket on it.....while lounging around, I stuff it w/my Kleenex, and chap stick. When outside, I put my cell phone and wallet in it so less I need to take to the stores.... The hood goes right up close to my face so it does keep the wind out on a windy day. Again, I wear this allot! It's one of my fav. outdoor jackets to now wear. The zip goes down LONG enough to get it over my shoulders and my head. Again, Easy in it/Easy out of it. It stuffs into my small locker at work as well.... No complaints on this one! AAA++++ PERFECT!

When I saw this in the catalog I just had to have it! I had a Bean pullover over 20 years ago. This is a newer version of that. I don't like bulky coats when driving around and this coat keeps me warm. We have recently received a bit of snow here in NH and wearing this around with long sleeve shirt underneath is just fine. Enough room for a sweater too. I love this coat!

Flattering fit! Easy on and off when I need to add or remove a layer while hiking. Beautiful color goes with everything. Works great as a warm, light weight outer layer for shopping around town.

I got this coat in blue and absolutely love it! I wear a size 18-20 normally and bought this in a women's 2XL. It fits great! It really does protect from the wind and is perfect for temps in the 40s...maybe even a little cooler if worn with layers.

Bought the red. Incredibly gorgeous cherry red! This is a dream jacket. Warm without bulk. Such great technology in a jacket.

Was standing outdoors today for 6 hours in 40 degree weather with 20 mph winds. Had a base layer and a lightweight fleece and this on top and was warm! Windproof, much more than I expected. So happy with this!

This pullover is great! It's very light but it keeps you warm from the wind and light rain. I love the kangaroo pocket up front. Need different colors!

I haven't worn it yet but tried it on and it is so comfortable and lightweight. I can move in it , instead of being all bulky. It is also very stylish. Love it! I think it will be great for our western NY winters.

I like this pullover for the great dark coral color that somehow manages to be bright.I am 5'4" and I find that this jacket hits me midhip which is a very flattering length. I ended up sizing down from my usual large to medium because I did not want my stomach to look poochy.I didn't order petite,but chose the misses size and found that for my height this was the right length and my arms are covered to the wrist.The navy trim is cute as is the box quilting pattern.I thought it was nice to take quilted material into sweatshirt design instead of the stodgy riding jacket style. (I did not look good in the colorblock print).I look much better in one solid color....

I love this and the bright color it is. Very comfortable and wear all the time. I want it to be cooler here just so I can wear this (I live in Atlanta). I bought the XS and am 5'4, around 125.

This jacket is the best. Lightweight and warm. Fashionable as well.
