I wear 2x and buy the occasional 3x for outwear if I need to wear a heavier layer underneath. This was too small through the hips and the upper arms were very small with just a t-shirt under. No way I could put a sweater under it. Poor sizing. Returning.

The hood elastic is inadequate to keep it in your head in even a slight breeze.
There are no underarm zippers to provide ventilation in a warm rainy situation.
For this price there should have been adjustable elastic for the hood and vented underarm zippers. Disappointing.

pockets only have a small velcro closure and it's not very secure. Zippers would be preferred. Quality is just OK.

Had to return it because, as other reviewers have stated, the hip area is too slender. There is no room to put anything in a pocket & with a layer it would be straining. If the hip area was a tad wider, I would have been happy with it. I really wanted this rain jacket to work!

I have ordered and returned several rain jackets from LL Bean. The BIG problem is the sleeve length. Petite sleeves should be shorter than regular womens sizes....they are not. Very disappointing, as I would have been a happy customer except for that. Please consider that issue.

I've bought LL Bean medium petite jackets for years and they have always fit. I am on the small side but like the medium size to allow layering. Sadly this jacket was too large overall. The sleeves were very long to the point the cuffs would have to be rolled up twice. The elasticized cuffs were too loose to fit snugly at the wrist mitigating the length. The jacket itself was also too long. This was more like a regular medium than a petite and I checked the size on the jacket to make sure I had not gotten the regular by mistake. It was also IMO heavier than "lightweight", possibly because of the size. Loved the color, true teal, a welcome bright color on rainy days but will sadly have to return.

I wanted to love this jacket (a Petite M), but the arms are too long and the velcro makes it awkward to open and close the front and access the pockets. The hood flops too far down over the face and has no drawstring. I will be returning the jacket.

As others noted, the jacket has been made to be more fitted in style. It also seems to have been resized smaller than expected. I had to let my much loved, many-years old version go and was hoping to replace with the same. Had to return and went with a different company in the end.

Disappointed because it does not have drawstrings around the hood or bottom. Only two pockets and those with only Velcro.

I ordered a medium petite. The sleeves were tlght over a sweater and were extremely long. I could not believe the jacket was a petite as the selves hung below my hands.

I like the jacket, but I don't care for all of the velcro, especially down the front zipper and over the pockets. It makes it difficult to slip in and out of. I also find it a little warm as it does not seem to breathe. I'll be using it for rainy days but probably not to slip into on a breezy day.

The arm holes are too small. I usually wear a small/medium, and got a medium. My arms are slim, so this was a disappointment :/ Returned.

Overall this Medium a bit smaller than the usual Medium. The sleeve holes under the armpit is too small to wear one layer under it . I'm slighter on top than bottom, under 140 lbs, a bit disappointed with this size. I like the lightness of the jacket but am returning it.

The good points: Gunmetal Gray (a mid-toned, blue-based, cool gray) is a rich, complex shade with an almost opalescent finish. The hood provides adequate coverage without flopping down over my eyes, and the zipper looks like it might hold upwhich has not been the case for Bean zippers over the last few years. That's where the love ends. Above all, a foul-weather jacket must perform and it needs to FIT. This jacket protects for a short while in a light rain, but it doesn't fare as well in heavy rain, and torrential downpours are what New Englanders have experienced the last 2 months. The fit is poorly executed for my small waist and big butt. I consistently take an XL in LLB apparel, but I sized up so I could layer year round. I ended up exchanging all the way up to 3X, which has the same design flaws as the smaller sizes. It's so billowy at the waist it bunches and creates an unsightly fold across the bust, yet it's tapered at the hem, super fitted on my narrow shoulders, and very tight on my full upper arms. If I wanted a single-season jacket, I could have kept the XL for summer, but I wanted a seasonless shell, and the 3X won't even let me layer over a moderately thick sweater. The floppy elastic wristband is so loose it stands away from the skin, so moisture and wind creep up my forearms. Finally, the product description omitted the fact that there is velcro all the way down the placket. I really wanted to like this jacket, and I could have gotten a ton of use out of it this summer, where I can count on one hand the number of days the sun has come out. Unfortunately, this jacket is a hard pass for me.

Two issues, 1) found similar at another store that I liked better for substantially less money, 2) pocket design could have allowed a cell phone to slip out easily.

I am a bit disappointed with this. The underarms are tight, fit does not feel 'right" and not comfortable at all. Not like other LL Bean jackets.. I ordered an extra large, since I am busty. Not one of my favorites things from LL Bean. I have been a customer for many years, and I do not care for this.

This item was very flimsy and felt cheap. The waterproof material was lacking. It fit tight across the shoulders. I returned this item

I normally wear XXL in misses but since that size wasn't offered I went with the 1X in the plus size. Everything fit well except the upper arms which was way too snug.

The cut is incredibly tight. The sizing needs help. Go up a few sizes when you order this. Customer service was top notch on the return

I'm sad that this jacket had to be returned. I ordered it to take this on vacation so I ordered a medium which I normally wear and a large just in case. The medium was very small all over and the large was snug in the hips. It seems as though in many clothing items the fit around the hips is getting snugger and snugger; I used to be a consistent medium at L.L. Bean and now I never know what will fit in what won't.
The jacket would be perfect for drizzly and cool summer days, it is well-made, lightweight, and the teal color was very appealing. I have never purchased an item in XL but I really liked this jacket, so I'm going to try the XL.

Disappointed...while this still may be good quality..I will never know...size so far off. I usually wear a large in most things and in the past have found LLBean products to be generous or spot on in size...I ordered an XL anyway to be sure since it looked a bit fitted and because I actually like my jackets a bit roomy and wanted room for a sweater. This jacket was so fitted..no room for a sweater, but the sleeves were loose and ridiculously long. Sadly I had to send back.

I had high hopes for this windbreaker but ended up returning it. Sleeves were way too long. The elastic on the wrist way too loose. My wrists would have had to be at least twice their size for the elastic around the wrist to have worked. Loved the teal color.
