Does not breath. Good for colder weather with layer under. Water repel good.

Like the jacket for rain and wind, however it doesn't not pack into pocket as stared in description. Also pockets are difficult to use because of the way they close. Just not quite the quality I expected from LLBEAN.

I was suspicious about the waterproof claims of this jacket, so, before I took the tags off I let water pool on the sleeve and it repelled! Then I went for a hike in the rain and it didn't repel. I think it is a wonderful windbreaker (hence the three stars otherwise would have been less) but saying that it is waterproof is a huge understatement and misleading. I do feel very stylish in it.

I will be using on an upcoming trip. The arms were very long in petite. Had to have them altered. I've had coats in regular size with shorter arms. A bit disappointing.

Gunmetal gray is a nice change, and very pretty. However, the Velcro is a turnoff for me. It picks up everything but men & money. I didn't realize or read carefully that snaps were replaced with the annoying Velcro. Back it goes! If Velcro is acceptable for you, I would certainly recommend this jacket.

This jacket is probably adequate for my travel needs, lightweight and packable, however I was disappointed in that it is not the same quality as a previous one I had for many years. The hood has no way to adjust or tighten and the fabric seems cheap. Have not yet worn in heavy rain so can't say about the waterproofing.

This is a great jacket, but the gunmetal grey is just not what the LL Bean gunmetal grey has been in the past. It looks more like a navy/black. Other purchases of LL Bean jackets with this color name were true to color.

For reference, I work with horses and am often out in the rain for a long period of time. No other rain coat has ever worked for me. This was probably the most waterproof jacket I've tried in a while - but that doesn't mean it is completely water proof. After about 2 hours in the pouring rain, my shirt and bra were wet, but I wasn't soaked underneath which is a plus. I will be keeping this one and possibly treating it with some additional waterproofing. If you were wearing this and just going from your car to inside, you would be perfectly dry. I'd recommend this to anyone, but I would definitely layer with it if you'll be out in the pouring rain for a while.
Fit - very comfortable. There's a nice mesh on the inside and the sleeves are elastic so water doesn't sneak in that way.

This seems like a great jacket, but my normal size medium wouldn't fit over my hips. I have never had problems with LL Bean jackets or shirts before, but this jacket was very much too tight. C'mon, LL Bean, women have hips! This jacket is being returned and I'm not reordering because I'm not confident a larger size will fit any better.

I bought this for an interior tour of Alaska. It does keep you completely dry but the Velcro closure which seems like a good idea turns out to be a very annoying feature. If you have it unzipped the Velcro sticks to everything.

nice but runs small. I hoped to layer, but a bit too tight for that.

I bought this windbreaker in a 2x which usually allows me plenty of room. It was very snug so I returned it and ordered a 3x. It wasn't much bigger. I was disappointed because I really liked the quality, design and fabric of this windbreaker.

Jacket looked great, liked the fabric & the grey color but bad fit for me. Too big on top & too snug across the stomach & hips. Sadly returned it.

Nice looking and appears waterproof but sleeves are much too long in the petite size.

The description says "best with midweight layer." Petite medium is my normal size. It fit ok with a long sleeve tee but was not roomy in the shoulders and was too fitted with lightweight fleece over the tee. Gunmetal gray was darker than I thought but very neutral. Sent it back because it was not that flattering, a little too small for layering, and I disliked the velcro in the front and at the pockets. Another star lost for the LL Bean logo on the chest. I am ordering less from LLB because of the prominent logos on your new items.

Ordered size M based on other LLBean clothes I have and had to exchange for Large to be able to layer a sweater under it. Description had said there was room to layer. Having worn the size L. not more than half dozen times, the netting around the front pocket is torn away from jacket material. Disappointed with the quality and the fit.

It's a bit snug. I like the color but disappointed regarding the fit. I will keep the jacket but I can't wear a heavy sweater underneath. I purchased a windbreaker and had it for years and the fit was great and I was hoping for the same result.

Nice coat, but the sizing chart was wrong and the jacket ran small. I was charged postage for returning it and there were no more in my real size when I tried to reorder. Found a similar coat on a different site that was much cheaper. It cost me $6+ in return postage and I walked away empty handed. Not a great experience.

Petite sleeves are too long and wrist elastic too loose. Because I liked the design and teal color I had the sleeves shortened and elastic tightened. I also would have appreciated a two way zipper even if it bumped up the price.

I like the design and teal color of the jacket. However the sleeves are way too long and loose around the wrist. I ended up keeping it and got the sleeves shortened by 2 inches and the elastic at the wrist tightened. Would also have appreciated a two way zipper even if it bumped up the price.

The jacket is nice but the Velcro is annoying. It sticks when I am zipping the jacket or putting things in the pockets. The outside pockets are not secure for glasses, cards and money and all has to go in the inside zippered pocket. Thanks for that.

Nice fabric, pretty turquoise/teal color, great raglan sleeves make for ease of movement. But WHAT IS WITH THESE SLEEVES? They are ridiculously long! Granted, I get a Petite XL due to my big chest, but really? These sleeves would fit a person 6 feet tall! Missing: drawstring at hood and waist, 2-way zipper. (Should come standard on all LLB coats). The Velcro is a pain, too. I'll keep it for windbreaker characteristics, but hood is useless.
Pics: hood without adjustability. Gorilla sleeve, with and without 3x roll-up

I have a windbreaker (LlBean) that is several years old, that I bought end od season because I really needed one, but I was never crazy about the color. When I saw this in Teal, I knew it was time to replace it. The old one is a Petite Large, and this time I ordered a Petite Medium. Lo and behold, the sleeves on the Medium are 1 1 1/2" longer than the Large. The Large sleeves were a perfect length. In addition, the Medium's hood was just the right size, fitting over my head but not the face. The new (Medium) has to be folded back so that it doesn't obstruct my vision. It's also bigger than the old hood. In spite of these issues, I'm keeping it because I love the color. How does LlBean make a jacket a size smaller, and it ends up bigger in the sleeves and hood??

The three star rating is because of the color. I got the jacket for my wife who wanted a gray jacket. This gray is bluish and almost black. We returned it and ordered a black one.
