First, I really like L.L. Bean for their very good quality items (especially when on sale) and usually terrific customer sevice. Having said that, I just wasn't a fan of this very lightweight jacket. I would have preferred more of a bright salmon color or tangerine. Also, I found the sleeves to run long and I didnt care for the fit (close to body)
It just wasn't for me this time.
But, I love their parkas!

Very thin and not warm at all. Sad to see that LLBean would list this as a mountain coat.

Quality was just ok. Very thin. Fit was odd and not flattering, almost like a men's jacket. Collar was larger than I'd imagined. Returned.

Quality was ok but this jacket was paper thin. I ultimately returned because it was not substantial enough. Like a cardigan of rain jacket material. Don't recommend for warmth. Maybe if you just like the outdoors-y look?

After I received it tried it on and it fit perfectly. It's a little thin for nyc in November BUT my mountain fleece jacket makes the perfect base layer.

Why or why is LLBean letting competitors eat your lunch with a tall women's line? Love this jacket but it is not long enough! Cuts me at an odd spot! Please consider talls!!!

Had to return it. I bought the XL based on my 43 inch bust measurement, per the size chart. The jacket was way too big. In the past, I had purchased Llbean tops in a Large, and they were too small. So I'm totally lost and now reluctant to buy clothes for myself from this site.

Much smaller than expected. Order up if you intend to wear any clothes underneath, even a t-shirt!

I was looking for a jacket that was insulated but not too heavy for walking my dogs and running errands. This jacket appeared to fit the bill but when it arrived, I was disappointed to see how little insulation it actually contained. I wouldn't call it a "puffer" jacket. It honestly felt like there was no insulation whatsoever and I kept trying to feel if there was anything in between the liner and outer shell. After reminding myself that this was supposed to be some kind of new lightweight insulation, I tried wearing the jacket for several days in 40 degree weather, with and without a mid-weight layer underneath. I felt colder with the jacket on as opposed to wearing just a hoodie - the cold air went straight through the ultra-thin material to my body. Now, I don't mind the cold but it honestly reminded me of my summer fine-mesh motorcycle jacket that is designed for maximum airflow except that I didn't want or expect that feature in a winter coat! It's the most bizarre experience I've ever had with a LL Bean product. Despite the flattering cut, I will be returning the jacket. Based on the other positive reviews, I think it's very likely that I may have received a bad/poorly made jacket that slipped past QC.

Not as warm as described. Not puffy at all. Had to wear the matching vest to be warm at 40F degrees.

I have a pile jacket that I combine with an LL Bean windbreaker and it works better than this puffer jacket and the windbreaker. It is not warm and I was surprised how little wind protection it added to the windbreaker. I was actually warmer with the other combination.

I would expect a fully closeable pocket, or at least a set in internal pocket. These snaps aren't it, and I"m concerned about their longevity considering I purchased a shirt jac with similar fastener that broke and damaged the fabric is was attached to on first wash. I also think the cuff is very cheap looking but at least it's functional.

I purchased my usual size (petite XS) after I had good luck with a longer coat in a similar style this winter that fits and looks great. The petite version of this coat, however, is NOT petite - it is cube-shaped and wider than the regular version, and the arm-holes are much too large and low. This means they got incredibly lazy and just chopped a few inches off a larger regular size to call it "petite". I would expect this from fast fashion, but not L.L.Bean. Short women are not shaped like cubes just because they are short. Maybe they got confused and used a pattern from one of their tents??

I was excited to order and receive this jacket. Turns out, the sleeves were very small, especially considering this was plus size. For clothing with no stretch at all, seems like it would be manufactured with wider sleeves. Sadly, will be returning this product.

I sized up in this jacket and it was still too snug in the arms and chest, unlike many other manufacturers' coats of the same size. Seems like they are trying to skimp on material. If so, they should just not offer plus sizes. Or, price them a little higher if necessary, instead of cheaping out on the quality. Now I have to pay to return it, in the flimsy paper bag they stuffed it in.
Won't be ordering from them again.

Seems 'puffy' in the photo. Not puffy at all. It's more like a windbreaker. Tried it outside. Not warm.

I always order petite large and this jacket didn't meet LLBeans standards. Way too large in bust and arms and snug around the hips. Was disappointed. The fabric and color was nice. Central Wisconsin

I love this jacket! It's light as a feather (truly), smooth as silk (not shiny), slides on in an instant, is a wonderful windbreaker, and a perfect warmth for this time of year. The wonderful sand color makes *silver fox* come to mind, perhaps because the jacket feels like silk. I couldn't be happier; well, if it had a two-way zipper that would be the ultimate perfection.
