I've bought LL Bean sweatshirts for years and they were always sized consistently. I had to get a larger size in this style to get sleeves long enough. It was boxy and too big in the body, but I wore it anyway because I needed a navy jacket. I bought two more six months ago in cream and lavender. I noticed the navy one had worn through along the zipper seams. Then, I noticed holes in the two new ones. I'm returning for a full refund.

The zipper is very hard to get started. Usually LLBean product zippers all well easy to use and durable, so I was surprised. I sent it back.

The band on the bottom was too wide and very stretched out! Too bad because the sweatshirt design was very nice.

Returned. The metal zipper only has a fabric facing on one side, leaving the unfaced side to be very irritating to my neck even when the zipper itself is open. I'm very disappointed, not up to LL Bean's usual standards of quality, and I'm still in search of a sweatshirt fabric cardigan to replace an old one that has given up the ghost.

This sweatshirt shed terribly. Left lint on my other clothes even after washing. I returned it for a refund.

I liked the color and the fit was ok too, but the cuffs and the band around the bottom just didn't correspond with the material of the jacket. The cuffs and bottom band were very coarse and unforgiving, not a good match. I love L.L. Bean products and I will always be one of their loyal customers.

While this jacket might be cute, the zipper is almost non-functional. Every time I unzip it get stuck 3/4 of the way down. It's a huge struggle and takes a lot of finagling to get it undone. It's a terrible disappointment for the price.

Purchased the heather gray and royal blue colors of this quilted sweatshirt in size XL and LOVED them! Nice soft fabric, washed with just a tiny bit of shrinkage. Kangaroo pocket is good as a hands warmer or to hold a tissue. These two carried labels stating they were made in Vietnam. Loved them so much I ordered this one in the slate blue color. What a disappointment! The sizing was much smaller in this XL than the others I ordered. The body fit was narrow and the sleeves were much longer and narrower. Its' label stated that it was made in Sri Lanka. Since it did not fit at all like the other two from Vietnam, I returned it to LL Bean. I wish the customer service reps at LL Bean could, with accuracy, tell a customer where an item being ordered was made.

It was a nice product. However, it was too long and large all over. I was very disappointed. I ordered a small and it felt like a medium. I used to buy Bean for true sizing. I would never be warm in this it was so big.

Not a good fit and the sleeves were too short. Nice looking jacket but too big at the bottom.

While a long time fan of LLBean's quality garments, I have to say I was devastated to find that their quality no longer rules. I've purchased their zip up sweatshirts in the past and they lasted for years. This one- I was lucky to get 1 year out of it. Unless you treat it gently and wear it unfrequently, it may last you a while, but if you are like me and need something more rugged, forgetaboutit.

I gave it one star only because the first one I received did not lay flat at the bottom binding. There seemed to be extra material. I returned it; then decided to try another. The second one was much better. Love the jacket except for the defect. Read the other reviews and other people had the same issue. Give it a shot, it is worth the effort. I am sure that I will get a lot of use out of it.

I have wanted to purchase one of these jackets for awhile and was really excited to see it offered in lavender. I ordered in May, but because it was back ordered, didn't receive the jacket until late August. I wore it today and will be returning it. Since it is a zip front I assumed it would be sized to allow a shirt to be worn underneath. The armholes were too small and it was so tight across the back that I could barely lift my arms. I have purchased several other jackets from LL Bean in the same size and never had a problem. For the price of this jacket I was extremely disappointed in the sizing/quality.
Especially after waiting several months for it to come on back order.

The seams wear through after a few washes revealing a blackish underlayer. I saw this flaw in a review and thought it must have been a fluke, but I always washed it inside out just in case. But, unfortunately mine is doing the same thing. Now the elbows are wearing through as well. For as infrequent as I wear it, I am thoroughly disappointed. For 79 and from LL bean I expected higher quality. I recommended it to my mom since she wanted something she could get custom embroidered for my graduation. Would not recommend for long lasting use at such a price.

I qm very pleased with this sweatshirt. It fits me perfectly, is a neutral color so easily coordinates, and is very comfortable.

I wanted to love this but it continued to shrink despite the high polyester content. I thought the polyester would just make it a little more durable but it didn't. It started out oversized, shrank (becoming unwearable) and developed small holes in the fabric. Beware.

This product's color faded quickly and got wear spots within just a couple months. And it's not even that warm. Not buying again.

Online picture shows ends of sleeves falling a couple of inches below the bottom of the waist, but mine were 3" above the waist. Neither the sleeves nor the waist height & width fit my usual XS frame. Recently we have been having problems with other sweaters too - including different colors of the same model & size being completely different actual sizes.

I purchased this sweatshirt around September 2020. I've had this sweatshirt less than six months, and there is already a hole at the top of the zipper, and holes/fraying along the tubing on each side of the zipper. Although the company has a one-year guarantee, I'd have to pay $6.50 to exchange/return the product. I don't think I should have to pay that for a defective product. This is an $80+ sweatshirt. It should not be deteriorating within 6 months.

I liked the fit of this jacket very much and own two. The first, in Navy, was delivered
late January, 2020. It had developed worn spots along the zipper --thought I might've caught it on something but liked it enough to order a second one in Deep Admiral Blue. The second one was delivered Nov. 10th, 2020. I've washed it 3 times and line dried it. Nevertheless, it has developed worn spots in EXACTLY THE SAME PLACES as the Navy jacket, as demonstrated by the pictures. (Color also fades quickly.)

I am tall and slender with a long torso. This shirt in a Medium hit me just below my hip bone, which is my usual preference. It was a wide kind of boxy fit on my frame, but with the length and the overall look of the shirt I was willing to overlook this. I noticed that the zipper made the shirt not lay flat when it was zipped -- it curved out, almost as if the zipper was too long for the fabric but sewn on anyway. Fast forward to my first attempt at washing/drying a few weeks later. I followed the label directions to a T because I didn't want to risk ruining a sweatshirt that cost over $80. Didn't matter. Even with the cold water and low temp dryer it shrank in length probably an inch (based on where it now hits on my hips). It didn't shrink in width, so now it just kind of hangs awkwardly at my hips while being too big everywhere else. Worst of all, the too-long zipper is now even more of a problem and makes the sweatshirt bump out when it's zipped up, looking like about a 6 month pregnant belly. Obviously not the look ANYONE is going for. I have emailed customer service to see if anything can be done; I'm not sure if this was a flaw with this particular sweater. In any case, DON'T put it in the dryer, and if you're long waisted perhaps look elsewhere.
