Mother davric used is a great weight for winter, but too heavy for temperatures over 65 F.

These are pretty good to protect yourself from mosquitos while hiking or gardening. I still get bitten in the back or on the arm here and there, but it's not as bad as when I don't wear it. It's also not too thick that would make you sweat a lot in summer.

Fits great and really works. Just wish it had a zippered front. I use it every day.

I love this hoodie...great at keeping the bugs at bay. The only reason it didn't get 5/5 is because the material is heavier than the one purchased a couple of years ago.

I'm 5'4 and 123 pounds a small Fit perfectly. This lightweight pullover is comfortable. I have not tried it out yet ( concerning "bugs".) I purchased it for a vacation where mosquitoes are rampant. My only complaint is about color. I expected sage to be a light green but it is really more taupe. I ordered a blue for my husband and it is a very pretty blue. FYI.

Comfortable and great looking! I have worn it once and it seemed to help with the bugs here.

It needs to have a closure for the hood. drawstring, button or Velcro. otherwise the hood will not stay on your head and protect it.

Love for bugs, fall hiking or sitting on porch when mosquitos are bad-no bites.

My title says it all. This garment is perfect in every way. I didn't give it 5 stars because I believe it needs pockets. Otherwise, it is absolutely perfect. I mean it. The fabric breathes. I don't get overheated wearing it. I can wear it with confidence. That is extremely important to me. I have auto immune issues. Bites have put me in the hospital. But I am not going to allow that to force me to stay indoors. I am going to be as active as I can. I love the way the sleeves cover my hands even. This garment does it all.

I can't say the bugs stay away from me when wearing this shirt, I also can't say I've been bitten while wearing it either. Overall it's a nice shirt and I enjoy throwing it on instead of spraying myself down with bug spray. What it does lack is POCKETS! I adore many of my Bean tops and sweaters because they have pockets. Especially kangaroo pockets! I find when I'm in the outdoors the more pockets the better.

I liked the shirt, and might consider re-ordering in a size larger. I probably could've made it work if it were less stiff, more stretchy. It's a good looking shirt, and I love the idea of the insect shield.

This is my regular size but the hoodie was too short. Men get a tall option but women don't for this garment. I ended up ordering a men's small. This is much more suited to me both in the arm and body length, but is tight across the shoulders. A women's large is shorter than a men's small and significantly wider in the body. Since it's stretch material, I'm keeping the men's small because I love the insect shield and have been looking for something like this. One thing to keep in mind is when you need the insect shield, you want length to cover your hands and not ride up in back. A longer back side would be nice when using wilderness latrines.

I do not have a big head and this is really hard to get over my head. It has no stretch at all, not even like a t shirt. It's so uncomfortable. On the other hand? I don't get bit. I doubt I'll wear it much it hurts to take it on snd off.

If temperatures are high enough to need mosquito protection this garment is rather warm.

Given that this is insect resistant, it seems like it should be a summer top. Insects are worse in the summer, and in other seasons one would naturally be wearing layers. This top was heavier than necessary, and also the fit was odd, in that the neck was so small I had trouble getting it on over my head. I'm 5'7" 120 lbs and ordered a small, which fit appropriately except for the head/hood issue. I returned it.

This shirt would have gotten a 5-star rating had it not been for the fact that it is too warm for any weather over 70F. The hood is very useful in keeping even the little buggers away from your eyes and the shirt overall kept us from getting stung by mosquitos and from ticks getting onto our skin and hair. And we hiked through Lyme-Heaven in the woods at Lyme, CT!

I liked this hoodie, but the head opening was too small. I don't have a large head, but it would be impossible to get this on and off without messing up my hair.

That shirt definitely runs large. I would recommend sizing down one or maybe even two sizes. The material is stiff and scratchy but if you wore something under it I'm sure it would be fine. I'm disappointed because I really wanted to use it on my upcoming trip to Africa.

Not sure what women in LLBean land look like but I purchased an XL and could barely fit it on. Maybe if you wear nothing underneath it, you could force it but thats not typically how I wear hoodies. Very disappointed because I was excited about the technology of it. Going to try a men's XL and see if that fits. Feel bad for anyone who doesn't fit the idea of being small, including myself.

I really like the cut of this hoodie. Also the color selection. The fabric's super comfortable and a great weight and appears to be very durable; I'll know better after laundering more. The fit of the shirt is just a bit snug - I should have ordered a large. In terms of bug protection, it may work in Maine, but doesn't really help much in keeping away our NH blackflies. I purchase these shirts for 5 people, and hats for two; a lot of money spent badly for bug protection, but still good looking clothing.

Heads up this is a very start by and scratchy fabric. Hopefully will soften with some washes.

No stretch but did lessen the bugs. It is light weight for summer but could be more comfortable.

Absolutely the least flattering article of clothing I have ever owned or even tried on. I don't know how something so basic could be so unflattering, but it is. I think bugs stay away because of grace. They take one look at me in this shirt and say, "She's having a bad enough day as it is. Let's leave her alone."
