The sleeve cuffs are very stiff at least on the cream colored one. I haven't tried any of the other colors maybe those are different. I'm not sure but I would think they're all similar.

I had a few of these that I bought three or four years ago and have loved wearing them. I decided to buy more in different colors, but am really disappointed with the change in quality. The old ones were lined in places, twice as thick, warm, and kept their shape. The new ones are thin, clingy, and made using a cheaper material. I am not willing to pay LL Bean prices unless it is what I have come to expect as LL Bean Quality.

I have been an LL Bean customer for almost 30 years. It has been my go-to company for on line shopping as well as shopping at the brick and mortar stores of Freeport, Maine, and Albany, New York. I have never been disappointed by their products and all these years until now. I like the looks of the sweatshirts so much that I bought two one in rust and one in gray. I am careful with my clothes and they usually last several years. I cannot recommend these sweatshirts due to the wear that occurred on the bottom of the pocket area. The fabric wore through and the black quilting shows through.

While the sweatshirt is very soft and warm, the collar drives me nuts. I do not like it zipped all the way up as it feels constrictive on my throat; however, with it partially zipped, the collar refuses to fold down nicely, and constantly jumps up. I keep hoping with each wash that the collar will soften up and behave, but it's yet to happen.

Body fit is good but the arms are horribly tight....overall fit not in sync. Done with women's clothing have better success with men's.

I don't understand size inflation. I ordered a women's small but it's clearly in the medium range. It's a nice pullover but the sizing then makes it look sloppy.

I've purchased this pullover numerous times, so much so that I've managed to gather six different colors, starting with the first one purchased years ago. In fact, that first one was 80% cotton. It is worn and faded now, but I take it camping because it's warm and fits well. The last pullover purchased just this year is not warm nor does it fit well. The cotton has dwindled down to 51% cotton, 49% poly. It is longer in the torso and looks ...well, it doesn't look good when I wear it in spite of the pretty color. But color doesn't make up for the ill-fitting, chilly polyester feeling when I try to wear it. What a shame. LLBean had something good. But quality went the way of the polos...scarce if not missing. What's happened to LLBean?

I have one of these quilted 1/4 zips and I love it. I received a new one for Christmas. The fit isn't the same. It fits in the body, but it flares at the bottom, giving it a baggy look. Hopefully, next year the fit will work better.

Did not like the color enough to justify the high price. Return cost me 8.95. I'll be only shopping companies eith free returns from now on.

This shirt is made of pretty stiff fabric. It was too long & pretty fitted. I've sent it back.

I bought 4 of these last year. After a little while one of them showed fraying fabric on the elbow and now another one is starting to have little tiny wholes in the inside elbow. I'd expect better for this kind of price.

Really loose around the hips. Zipper keeps the collar from laying flat. One side of the collar stands up. Weird how this made.

I did not like the fabric at all. I was expecting sweatshirt fleece type material and it was some kind of nylon. Sent it back.

First, the positive: I love the style, fit and warm fleece sleeves. The side panels are slimming. It's 95% cotton instead of inferior polyester.
However, the quilting is not fleece, it's just two layers of thin cotton fabric so it's not warm, and the material between the body and kangaroo pocket is one woven cotton layer, allowing even more cold air in. It's not suitable for outdoor wear in winter unless wearing a coat over it.
I'm very disappointed in this top for the price point, and LLBean for cheapening what could have been a perfect pullover fleece. If the quilted area was made of cotton fleece, I would give it a five star rating. Sadly, I bought two in navy, one turquoise and the full zip in turquoise before realizing they are not something to wear outdoors in brisk weather or to take the dogs out for five or ten minutes in cold weather.
I can no longer rely on LLBean for warm, good quality cotton pullovers. LLBean, please go back to the high quality for which you gained your reputation or you'll lose more customers!

First I got a large. It shrunk alot. So I ordered an XL which shrunk down to the large size I needed. Unfortunately it faded a lot. It already looks old and I've only washed it once!

I really appreciate that LL Bean offers tall, small sizes. Not many places do. But on this shirt, the bottom waistband is too wide after multiple wearings so now it looks baggy.

Nicely made and a good selection of colors, but didn't like the fabric. Was looking for something more like a traditional fleece or sweater fleece and this did not meet the need or expectation. Returned and was grateful for LLBean's excellent return policies.

There isn't much stretch to this garment. I hope it's no too small for the person I purchased it for.

Love this quilted sweatshirt, BUT: I have a forest green one from a couple months ago (perfect!) and just received one in larkspur which I also love, but the latter is much larger, like it's a tall XL or even a plus size. It is too long, too big and even the cuffs are too large. I'd already washed it to get out all the wrinkles before I discovered the sizing. First time ever I've had a problem with LLB.

I am a decades-long, very loyal LLBean customer. My two daughters smile at all the LLBean clothes in my wardrobe. :)
And I have been very disappointed recently with quality of quilted/fleece zippered items with collars. The heavier fabric and the current design does not create an even collar on both zippered sides, the collars stand up very high and the fabric is too heavy for the collars to roll down. In addition, for this particular item, the cuffs at sleeve and bottom are very thick/bulkiynot comfortable.
The above comment applies to this quarter-zip quilted sweatshirt, but the collar issues also apply to a fleece vest I recently ordered (after purchasing *many* LLBean fleece vests in the past that did not have this issue).
I trust LLBean will be able to correct this issue, so that I can continue my decades-long enjoyment of warm cozy high-quality LLBean products.

Quilted fabric is attractive but makes the fit too bulky even without anything in the front pocket. Had to return it.

Washed the sweatshirt before wearing it. 3-4 small holes appeared on the left sleeve. I dried it on low heat so that should not have happened. Quality not as good as the one I previously ordered in a different color.

I loved the color and fit of this, however after about 6 months of wear, the fabric in the elbows got very thin and holes started to appear.
I wore this infrequently and usually to work in an office setting. I might expect the wear and tear if I wore this hiking, camping, or in otherwise more active ways. I would expect to be able to continue wearing it to keep an in-office AC chill at bay without holy elbows.
Do not recommend.

I normally wear a size XL In most garments. This sweatshirt runs a tad small in my opinion. After washing and drying it is a size smaller. After one wear I have to pass it on to someone. Very disappointing. I find that LL Beans siziyruns small.

I wore this pullover just a few times and noticed small tears in the quilted pocket area. I hadn't even washed it yet. Very disappointed in the quality for such an expensive pullover. Returned it for a full refund.
