I would love this shirt if it didn't have the white seam tape on the inside of the collar. I don't like that the white shows when the collar is open. The tape looks tacky and cheapens the look of the shirt. If this had been obvious in the catalog photo, I would not have purchased this shirt.

buttonholes are too small for the buttons. Consequently, one can spend all day buttoning and unbuttoning. Unfortunately, the problem worsens after washing.

Bought dark indigo last year and it was great. Bought LIGHT INDIGO shirt this year and it STINKS HEAVILY OF SOLVENT TYPE CHEMICALS. Must be whatever was used to fade the denim indigo. Have washed shirt 4 times, including twice with "Very Hot" water temp and baking soda added to detergent. Smell has faded so I think a few more washes will get rid of the stink, but be warned about issue with LIGHT INDIGO color. Otherwise, fabric and fit are good.

I really like the cut and color of this shirt, but it smells terrible, like garbage. I am washing it a 3rd time in hot water in hopes of eliminating the smell. Not sure what to do.

I returned the denim shirt immediately. This email reminded me that I have not heard from L.L. Bean that you have received it. The buttons were much too small for my hands to manipulate. I knew I would never wear it.

Shirt was described as light indigo but the shirt I received was closer to navy. It was a nice, soft shirt but I didn't like the color. I returned it.

Very thick material~ will only wear I. Winter and rough

Very disappointed with this shirt. Runs small. Sleeves and shoulders are very tight. Hip circumference is too narrow. Not true to size.

Opened short from sealed plastic and it smells horrible!!!! Like a mildewed basement. Short is not wet though- I didn't even try it on, sending back

I'm disappointed that it shrunk and I can not wear. I bought a large and typically wear a medium. I wish I could return it.

I washed this before wearing, according to the directions. The thread shrank, all the seams pulled, and it looks awful. The fabric is fine!

I have enjoyed many Bean items of clothing over the years but this one was returned on a dime. Just wanted to warn others that the odor of the fabric is really dreadful. You might think, well, just put it in the washing machine, but I really have doubts that would make a big difference as I once bought another denim item (not Bean's) that had a terrible smell and found that washing it several times did NOT satisfactorily remove the odor. So I did not want to take a chance on that, plus the fit of the sleeves was off, so I already knew I would need to return it. If a garment smells as bad as this one does, do you really want to put that on your body? I ordered a Medium which should have been a perfect fit --I've had other Bean shirts over the years--but the sleeves were a good 1 1/2 inches too long, and my arms are not short. The shoulder fit was fine so it isn't as if the shirt was too large overall. All in all, this was a very disappointing purchase and I do not recommend purchasing this shirt.

I too am returning this shirt due to the odor. It was very offensive and permeated my laundry area and all the clothes washed with this shirt. I soaked the shirt and washed it two more times to no avail. Very disappointed. If it didn't smell bad, I would still return it as the buttons are impossible to do.

I really want to like this shirt. Fits true to size and is a good weight for adding an extra layer. It has such a strong off gassing mothball like odor I'm not able to wear it. I washed it and hung it in the fresh air thinking it would go away. A few weeks later, it still smells horrible.

Tight at shoulders and arms. I think the cuts at Beans are saving favric at the expense of comfort.

Worst shirt I've ever purchased from L.L.Bean. The strip where the buttons go down the front is about 3 fabrics thick and the buttonholes are very small, making this shirt very hard to button. Plus that strip is "one sided" instead of stitching going down each side (picky detail, I know). One other thing I don't like is that after a few washings, the corners of the pockets, sleeves, and collar turn up, which makes it look like the shirt needs to be ironed.

It's really an awful smell. There are other reviews that mention this but they were from 2022. It's still a problem.

Not happy with shirt. Material heavy and not comfortable to wear. Very wrinkly when washed.

Tight fit on upper arms. Returned first order, ordered larger size. Same problem.

The shirt is just what I was looking for, but the modern LLBean has made the buttons so tiny that I absolutely cannot button it up so I'm returning it. Preview shows I'm giving it 1.5 stars but I gave it one star, the lowest rating available because designis so poor

Poor quality, smells like it was washed in sewage. I returned it.

Everything about this shirt was horrible. Too bulky, wrinkles horribly in the wash, buttons don't fit through the button holes. Very disappointing!
