I loved the older version of these and love the new one even more. The new version is just a tiny bit more substantial and have a silkier feel. I wash regular cold cycle in a sweater bag and dry on a clothing rack.

Nice material and trust it will be a good addition to my hiking attire. Will use it in Europe this summer.

This shirt is a well constructed lightweight Merino T-shirt. I don't mind the small LLBean logo on the front. I didn't like the visible stitched-in Logo loop on the back exterior of the shirt at the back of the neck. I can't remove it without damaging shirt. There is only so much advertising I am willing to do, so I don't see the need in doing it twice. Also overkill on the packaging; a cardboard box, within a box, within a paper shipping bag? A simple plastic wrap like my other clothing item came in would have been appreciated.

I usually wear a small, but this was form fitting. I won't be wearing it as an outer layer, but under other shirts. Wasn't too thrilled with the laundry directions, but it is wool, so extra care is definitely needed.
Otherwise, it seems fine.

Very soft and very comfortable. I did size up because I wanted to wear this as a shirt as well as a base layer. I knocked off a star because I don't like the logo to be on it.

Pure merino wool is wonderful -- much superior in performance and feel than poly blends from other suppliers-- and I'm glad Bean still offers these garments. I use this one, which I also have in gray, as underwear all winter.

Nice lightweight layer. Feels good against my skin, fits good and love the color. Also love the length on this shirt.

So far so good. I like the fit, color, and raglan sleeves. I wish the logo wasn't so prominent. I like wearing wool shirts year round. I'm not happy with my latest Smartwool shirt and decided to try LLBean. Very happy with it.

Fits well (size S; I am 125 lbs., 5'5"), washes well. Yet to be worn, purchased for a trip to France as, being wool, this top will wash and dry well. I'm not wild about the logo over your heart.

Pros: Raglan sleeves, lightweight
Cons: Very fitted, so much so that it felt clingy and could not be worn by itself. Also felt like the fabric would snag easily. While I usually favor a raglan sleeve, the seams on this one chaffed under my arm. The fabric did not feel nice next to my skin. I wanted this to be something I could wear alone or in layers, but it felt more like a spandex top than a wool shirt. I can see why people like it, but it wasn't for me.

I typically use the item for a while before writing a review. Sadly after wearing this ONCE while traveling (nothing more strenuous than carrying a backpack through an airport and sitting around for hours) the shirt has a hole just under the collar. As to comfort and helping to moderate body temp (sweating or cold) it was marvelous. When I began the trip it was 53 degrees and I was extremely comfortable with just a light long sleeved top over it. By the time I arrived at my destination it was 80 degrees and I had shed the top layer and was incredibly comfortable in just the top. I experienced everything from moderately chilly to warm and stuffy and with the help of the top was not overly hot or cold. (And as a woman getting closer to midlife changes, help with temperature discomfort was priceless!) Although I would not describe it as velvety material it was certainly comfortable wearing it next to my skin (and I consider my skin to be more sensitive than the average person, suffering from eczema and allergies, I cannot abide certain materials and textures) . I was very pleased and prepared to write a stellar review until I saw it had developed a small hole, almost as though it was moth eaten, right by the collar. But how could this be when I had kept it stored in its original packaging until wearing it for the first time a couple days ago? Sadly I think the quality is not what it should be. The shirt really is not much thicker than tissue paper. I did purchase the top on sale (in preparation for winter) but if I had purchased at full price I would be far more upset and probably return it. As it is, I will probably try to mend it and still wear as a base layer but I am sorely disappointed it won't be as versatile as I had hoped.

I bought the t shirt for hiking less than a year ago, wore it at most a handful times. Today I put it and ready for another hike and noticed 2 small holes right in the front. I dont recalled brush my belly on any branches in trails or pull on it hard could be just manufacture defect that did not notice before. Wonder if I can still return it. Please advise

The quality was fine, but the shirt was not in "P" size so it was too long. Also I usually wear med. and this one was too tight.

Fabric is very soft and the pink is nice, but this thin wool is very staticky, it keeps attaching to my skin.

This fit well when I first received it. I ordered a large. However it was put in the dryer by accident when it was washed and shrunk at least one size. Beware of putting it in the dryer. It was very thin material. The merino wool was very soft and would be a good base layer in the late fall and in the winter. I have very sensitive skin and am allergic to other forms of wool but am able to wear merino wool without a problem.

I decided to invest in the cresta base lauer short sleeve t-shirt. I thought it would be cozy and wear well over time. Unfortunately I was wrong. I've had this about 2 years and worn it about 4 times to snow shoe (not much snow the last couple of years). Followed the washing instructions and used a front load washer. The garment now has holes like it very old!!

I purchased this shirt for a backpacking trip, expecting superior quality because it's from Beans. I wore this shirt twice to test it out before my trip and it developed a hole in the back, under my hip belt. I took it to a store to exchange it as their return policy made it seem like this wouldn't be an issue and that they stand behind the quality of their products. I was told grudgingly that even though it looks like an accident caused it, I suppose we can exchange it. So, I got the second shirt just before my backpacking trip. After one day of backpacking, my shirt has new holes, still in the hip belt area, but this time in the front of the shirt. I understand this is a base layer shirt, but I read so many reviews from experienced backpackers about wearing shirts like these (lightweight, base layers made of merino wool that dry quickly and help regulate your body temperature during strenuous activities) that I had high expectations for this shirt. Other than the durability, I loved this shirt, but this product truly makes me question the quality of products from LL Bean and any future purchases. I used to justify the price of their products because I believed in the high quality of said products. Now, I'm unsure about future purchases from this brand. I purchased a similar shirt from another brand, and it held up just fine.

I know this is supposed to be light, but it was so shear that you could only wear this t shirt under another shirt. It does not work as a solo layer. I returned this and the black one that I ordered.
