These pants are amazing for summer! They are extremely cool and easy to throw on. They do run large!!!! Order down at least one size. After a couple of washings the fabric began to pill terribly!!!!! I never dried them in the dryer! Please notify me when this product is made in a fabric that is much more washable!!!! When they are I will buy more but they are much too expensive to be able to wear only 3 times!

These pants are super comfortable. They have lots of pockets including zipped side pockets. Now the reason I didn't give these a 5 ... After washing these on gentle cycle and hanging them to dry, they start exhibiting piling. Eventually the entire pants have pilling all over. Don't get me wrong, they are one of the most comfortable pants I own, but they start looking shabby way too soon. Even with pilling, if you get a dark color, it may be fine if you don't mind the pilling part. Still, these are casual wear around the house, walking outside or gardening pants. They were fantastic when recovering from a fracture. I just wish that LLBean would get the fabric needed to stop the pilling!

The material and fabric are perfect for the trip, unfortunately LL Bean needs to offer plus sized pants in different inseams. The rise is too high and the inseam is too long but I expected that.

The pants were high quality and made well. I chose them because of the elastic waist band w/ draw string so I could customize at the waist. Unfortunately I couldn't tighten the drawstring to my liking because it was made from a stretchy material. When stretched enough to fit, then the tails of the drawstring were too long. The pants were fine, they just need to change the drawstring.

I love the pants also have them in Capri style. Only problem after a few washings the material starts to pill.

I ordered two pair of these pants. At first I was thrilled. I loved everything about them: perfect fit, no wrinkles, light weight, etc. Then I wore one pair out to do some work in my over-grown garden. Then one unexpected problem showed up. I found three snags on the one pair after a short time outside. They didn't tear but individual threads pulled up into a loop on the outside. They are a fine weave with no obvious threads to catch on anything. One loop is over an inch long. I hope to find a tiny crochet hook to pull them through to the inside. I don't remember feeling any kind of tug for having been caught by blackberries or twigs, but that's likely what happened. I wasn't doing anything I would consider heavy work (I'm 86). I'm afraid they are really vulnerable to snagging. The other pair is intact and I don't plan to use them out in the woods. They should be fine in town. Just thought your other customers should know of this potential problem. Without the snagging problem, I'd give them 5 stars.

These fit me strangely - they billowed in the thighs but were major crotch-cutters. I got both this style and the cropped style and had to send both back. Otherwise they seemed like decent quality.

Mixed feelings: the features and fit may not warrant keeping these, at their price point. The waist is large and at least on me it does not sit lower in "favorite fit", as described by item info. The length is a bit short on a 5'8" frame, and tho cinching the elastic at the leg hems helps that, they should have had cord locks for a quality look. You have to knot the elastic cord for it to stay put. Fabric is very light, airy almost, probably good for us FL residents but that same fabric tends to cling in low humidity. I am not sure that I can recommend these, but choice is "yes" or "no".

I own 6 pairs of these pants, and have had them for more than a year in the case of several pairs. The Pros: very versatile - making them very nice for both casual wear and travel; very comfortable, which is the main reason I keep buying them. The Cons: I really dislike the way these pants PILL UP, even though I wash them on delicate in cold water, both according to the label, as well as turning them inside out. I never wash them with material that would make them pill up, just with other microfiber or high performance clothes in a small load and then line dry them all. I never put them in the dryer. I have also had a few of the seams near the front fray and come apart. I have returned a pair that came apart and ordered a pair to take their place, BUT with the new policy in place for returns, that may not work anymore, as it takes a while for them to start looking old. For the cost of these pants, I just wish that they would stay new looking for more than a year. Is that really too much to ask for an LL Bean product? It never used to be. That being said, because these pants fit me so well, I still give them 3 stars and would recommend them. I just wish that I was able to return them for a longer period of time, as the material just seems defective after a while. Are we still able to return these given that they don't hold up? Thanks for any help with these pants.

I bought 3 pairs of these pants to travel to Ireland with in the fall of 2017. Two years later they are still VERY comfortable. I packed two pair and wore one on the plane. I still use these pants exclusively when travelling. In Ireland it rained or drizzled most of the time we were there and these pants dried quickly which I had hoped would be the case. My only complaint is that after only 2 washings the pants began to pill. Two years later I can no longer wear them to work or out to eat because they are so pilled they look bad. I wear them for everyday use and not extreme sports or hiking. The quality of them are just bad which is disappointing because LL Bean used to have good quality clothing. Would I buy them again? No, since for the price I expect them to wear well and these have not. This is a bummer for me because it is very difficult to find petite length pants in nylon hiking style but due to the quality of these I will have to keep searching now. I hope Bean execs read the comments here and see how many are commenting about the quality issue. maybe they will fix the problem. I read comments about the pilling issue prior to buying these and hoped maybe I would not have that same problem...but I do. So buyer beware.

I love the fit, feel and comfort of these pants (I own 4 pair); however, the top stitching does not hold up, the fabric pills easily especially at the bottom/hem of the pants, and the metal tip on one tie of one pair of pants came off after washing. I have not worn these often, wash them on cold and hang to dry. The quality is disappointing!

I felt that the pants were very comfortable and did fit well. With the name of camp pants, I felt that they would be more likely to shed the wrinkled look. I washed and dried them thinking that the wrinkles were from shipping and that they would look better. Then, when they still looked wrinkled, to find out that I wasn't allowed to iron or steam out the wrinkles was disappointing.

The fit is great. The material is light, stretches but returns to shape. Loved the pockets. However... there is a weird seam (that does not stretch) around mid-thigh! There doesn't seem to be a reason for the seam. It is binding if you sit or climb without first hitching up your pants into a bunch above the seam! And it's terribly unattractive. The cropped version does not have the uncomfortable seam and are fantastic!

these look like exactly the pants I want---except that they "sit lower on the waist." Please consider offering a variation that you call "original fit."

If it is true to size and flattering. Problem is that pants pill too quickly. I am on my second pair and on the 1st wear they have pilled. Expect more fire the price.

Comfortable pants that you can put on and forget. Terrific for traveling, running around doing errands, walking/hiking. Bought the pants in Oct. The fabric started pilling in April. A bit disappointing to see how they wear. Note I air dry these pants as well.

Love the colors & what seems like a comfortable design, but they don't come in med tall (or tall). Given. Llbean's reg seems to run on the short side I'm disappointed these wouldn't work at all for me. Hope this may change in the future.

...of the LLB pants; I won't buy another and wish I'd returned this pair. They seem to run large. I had to order down a size (am usually a 14 at Bean). Pros: comfortable, good colors, wash well, lightweight, cool. But for me there are too many cons: Very soft but rather flimsy fabric causes anything in pocket(s) to bulge quite visibly and pull the pants downward. The drawstring already hangs below a shirt; tightening it to solve the "pull down" doesn't work, merely makes more cord to dangle. The thigh pockets are VERY small, will not hold most phones made in the last decade. The side pockets will hold an iPhone plus, but it looks like you might have a small bomb strapped to your leg! It's nice that these pockets are zipped because you'll need to do so to prevent the pocket from bulging outward or dumping your phone. For me these pants are too flimsy to work as camp pants. On a trail I'm sure they wouldn't survive brush encounters or rock scrambles.

I purchased two pairs of these pants for post surgery recovery bc of the easy on and off waist. I really liked them at first bc they they fit well and easy styling. As time went on, they started to lose their shape, the fabric pilled and they started to look raggy. I was disappointed after two months of wearing.

I love the overall design of these pants, but the waist design is a bit strange. The waist is elastic and was a little loose on me. I cinched the waist cord only to find that it too was elastic so to gain a good waist fit, I had to stretch an elastic cord and I found I could not get good control over the waist fit with it. Why a regular, non elastic cinch cord was not in the waistband, I can't understand. The elastic cord just makes adjusting the waist very difficult.

I have worn them once for cooler option for trail maintenance. To tie the waist tight enough to keep the pants up, I have feet of the tie to tuck down in the pants. The pants fit well but the stretchy ties on ankles and waist are too stretchy and long. We were clearing debris from an ice storm and I wasn't adequately protected from the inevitable branch scrapes and I even got poison ivy through the pants on a dry day when ivy isn't growing yet. They are called camp pants and I was using them in harsher service but even at camp I don't think these would hold up. These would be good for around the house where you aren't sitting on logs to eat etc. I would love these in a bit sturdier construction with less tie length. I love the elastic waist and zip pockets. By the way I LOVE llbean and their support of the AT and use llbean pack, boots, shirt, my go-to for outdoor gear,

Used these pants on birdwatching trip to Myanmar. They do snag easily on thorny grass and Velcro. The resulting snags won't keep me from wearing them on bird walks but if I had bought them for general wear, I would be very disappointed. They did wash well in a sink and dried quickly. They work for my intended use but need different material that isn't so fragile.

I like the fit and versatility of the pants. I wear them for the gym and outdoors and even around the house because they are so comfortable. I think they are stylish enough to go anywhere. However, the fabric pilled within the year. I don't know if that fabric always pills or if I got a bad pair. Beware.

The material is great, very smooth/light, but I'm wondering if they will "catch" or snag. They were way too big, if I re order I will get a XL. I have slender arms/legs and a fairly large stomach/waste due to prednisone. These were way too big all over waist, hips and legs. I'm 5'7 with long legs, they were way too long, maybe 4 inches with a lot left over to blouse at the ankle. I was not happy with the waist/ankle cording. Its very thin and all stretch. Nothing to tie and hold the pants up on waist. They keep falling down because the drawstring is all stretch. There is about 2 feet of extra of waist string because when I pull it to tie it in order to keep them up on my waist, thats how far it stretches out plus more. Need a material that won't stretch. Ankle ties are same material but fine. I would like these in all nylon or a non stretch light weight cotton and a light Kaki color and a light sage/olive. The LLBean buyers are still buying dark colors. Why? I would give 3.5 stars but its not an option.
