I really wanted to love these pants. They were just what I was looking for to wear while hiking on forested land. When I wear cotton knit pants on my hikes, the annoying burrs from plants in the area cover the fabric and take a lot time to remove. That doesn't happen as much with these pants. However, I do have a couple of complaints. First, the seam on the leg hits just at the top of my knee and rubs with every step I take. After a two hour hike, my knees are red and very sore. I may have to cut the pant legs so the seam is higher and make them into capris. I really need long pants, though. Second, I would prefer Velcro instead of buttons on the pockets. It would make it easier and quicker to get things out of the pockets. I would also like a pair of lighter colored pants to make it easier to spot ticks and other bugs.

These pants are super great. You can wear them hiking or dress them up for an everyday outfit. They are extremely light-weight, comfortable, and machine washable. Make sure to not let them sit bundled up too long after being dried because they get very wrinkly. I will be buying another pair in the future!

Very good, especially for travel. Great pockets for keeping items safe. i did hem them as I didn't like the bottom.

I like everything about these pants, except there is no pocket that can easily accommodate my cell phone. I don't have an abnormally large smartphone, but the only pocket I can put it in is my hip pocket. It's not a great spot for the phone. Having said that, don't rule out these pants. I wear the pants for lawn-mowing and other gardening. They are super for the purpose. They are lightweight and tough and they'll keep you cool in really hot weather. That's really important for me. They wash and dry beautifully. I'd love to get another pair in a khaki color, and I hope next year they'll give us a cell pocket.

These are great summer pants because of their extreme light weight. I found these to be much longer than the slim Vista Camp Pants, and ended up altering them to be capris. The waistline is very loose, and after I'd tightened it to fit I had a great deal of dangling cord to figure out what to do with. I'd say these are perfect to wear to the beach or hiking.

I do love these pants. The material is very light weight which is great for warmer weather when you want to hike in the woods but protect your legs from ticks, etc. The pants do run big. I actually prefer this when I'm hiking. It gives me plenty of movement. Unfortunately, I washed them and discovered they had snagged and now there a rather large snag on the leg. I have no idea how that happened. They were being washed with a bunch of t-shirts and shocks (no zippers, pins, etc..

I first purchased the petite small and even the elasticized waist was loose. After reading reviews I decided to return and take my chances that the XS might fit better. Just arrived and the fit is right. So definitely - they run a size too big! I'm usually a 6 petite in pants from Bean and the XS petite fit perfectly. Other than the fit - I can't really give them an honest review yet. Haven't put them to the test yet! Feel nice and light and comfy thus far.

I based the size I ordered on others' reviews. I feel the pants run long. At 5'6", I feel like the medium length is still too long for someone my height. I would prefer it if the legs didn't bag around my ankles quite so much. But with the ankle ties, this is not such a big problem. Also, I feel they run large. I am not skinny, but I could have fit into a Small rather than a Medium, I think. I easily wore long underwear under these when hiking in the spring, and I had ample room to spare. Pluses: the fabric is very lightweight, comfortable, and fast drying and they wash well. I love that the side pockets have zippers. The only real negative for me is the stretchy tie belt at the waist. It is too long, and it is pretty stretchy. With more wear, I think the tie belt might stretch out and won't do the trick of holding up the pants. I wish they'd replace this tie with a wider, less stretchy band. Overall, though, I do like these.

These are just GREAT pants. They are lightweight, just stretchy enough without bagging out, and do not bind or squeeze anywhere. They are loose enough, yet flowy enough to move well with most activities. They perform excellently for hiking, gardening, working-out, and socializing. I have even worn mine to work with an eyelet embroidered top. So why not 5 stars?? I find the fabric to be a bit fragile for all of the outdoor activities that I would like to take them on. They wash perfectly in cold water, but I never put them in the dryer. They dry extremely quickly on the line, and I do not want to chance shrinking them or weakening the nylon fabric in the dryer. I shrunk a pair of (non-LLBean) pants in the past by drying them, so I line dry all my nylon pants now. If the fabric was just a bit stronger, I would bump these up to five stars. However, I still plan on buying another pair soon, and I would also love to see more spring-summer colors.

Good quality. The only question is the bottom of the legs. The straps can tighten the cuffs, but then where does one put the excess strap?

The fact that you can make these pants shorter; the fabric is very nice, and lots of pockets if you are hiking. I just wash them and hang them, I am not putting them in the dryer. Much better than jeans.

These are comfortable pants and the lightweight fabric dries quickly. Would love same cut in other fabrics.

I bought the large and they are quite loose but not overly big. They are so comfortable and a great weight fabric. I ordered the cropped version in a medium and hope they fit a bit better. Would purchase again.

These are good, go-to pants for the weekend, shopping, lounging, etc. They ran too large for me, but I decided to keep them and order another of the same in small

These are the perfect multi season hiking pant. They breathe and wick moisture better than any hiking pant I've owned.
I took the drawstring out as I felt the elastic was sufficient (and slimming!) and the fabric breathes lovely.
My only complaint was that some of the stitching came out on the outer double seam on the first wear, but it's not something that hindered the structural integrity and really takes a keen eye to spot anyway.

I bought the sale color, Rust, to try these pants and I'm almost thrilled. The fabric is wonderful...Super light-weight and cool, and has good stretch. The length is good, but if you want to cinch the ankles for bug protection, you may want the longer length to make up the difference. My only suggestions would be to make the waistband a bit less than 2.5" wide and to make the draw cord a bit wider and less stretchy. (When I cinch the waist comfortably, I have 12" hanging from each side of the bow tied at the waist...And I don't have a small waist.)

Loved the dusty olive color, the well-placed and roomy pockets, two with zippers. Lightweight fabric. The size L was way,way too large on me. I am between an M and an L, so to be safe I usually go for the larger size. I returned the pair via mail, and am anxiously awaiting my replacement, which I now see is on back order! Until July! Next time, if I am unsure about which size, I will order two pairs and return one. More costly, but also more certainty.

I bought these pants in the sale color, and while they fit great, I was very disappointed that there was no drawstring on the ankles as shown in the illustration of the pants on the webpage.

Them all spring and summer. This is not the first time I've purchased these pants. I own them in every color wish they would make more colors.

Love the pants but not the pilling. The petite length was great for me. I normally buy petite medium in clothing stores but the small fit me perfectly. I noticed the pilling on the slate pair that I bought a year ago.

These are great work pants during the summer and are baggy. I would recommend ordering a size down just because of their loose fit and although they are tie waistband, they don't tie all the way right if you order too big.

These pants are great for summer hikes, but like with many L.L.Bean pants, I wish the rise were higher. Low rider pants went out of style ten years ago, so I have no idea why L.L. Bean still has so many low rise styles. I'm sure older and younger shoppers alike would appreciate a higher rise on their pants, especially styles that are meant for activewear.

But I have not worn the pants because they are too big. I know, I could have returned them but that is one reason I don't buy online very often. I hate the hassle of returning & just take my losses & try to remember to not buy online unless I'm positive that it will fit. I did spend a lot of time going through the reviews & thought I picked the right size but the legs are so full they look like clown pants on me. I did buy a pair of pants last year that stop right below the knee & they were perfect. I thought these would fit the same way but just too much material. Still like LLBean clothing though when I do find something that fits.
