The material is very thin. It would be good for summer, but certainally not for winter. The waist was somewhat loose and the drawstring was REDICULOUSLY long. Could loose a foot of it, not proportional to the pants. However, the fit is comfortable.

I ordered 2 pairs of these pants last year and wore them regularly. This year I ordered 3 pairs because the first 2 pilled and snagged badly. I do not use these for hiking or camping so they are not exposed to the great outdoors. I like everything else about them but they last at most only one season.

Really like these pants but had to replace the elastic in the leg bottoms because the elastic gave out.

I reviewed these before and said they were fabulous, and they are, to a point. They are EXTREMELY comfortable, look nice, roll up into nothing to pack, and drip dry overnight, which made them great for a recent European trip. However...as others apparently have noted, they pill badly on contact with anything even a little bit rough. I assumed they would be indestructible as the Vista Trekking pants are, and the material feels superficially similar, but they are not. I have fallen on rocks in the Trekking pants and cut my knees THROUGH the pants, while leaving the pants undamaged. In these camp pants, all I can remember doing was sitting on some stone steps outside a museum while eating a sandwich; this was standard travel stuff, nothing exotic or demanding of a pants fabric! They also snagged on a bit of Velcro on my laptop case, and a couple of threads had to be snipped, but that damage was invisible. The pilling looks bad. For pants at this price, and labeled as related to the Trekking pants, I would expect something pretty close to indestructible.

The black pants are a good dark shade, the material is soft, the pockets are plentiful, but the pants did not work for me. I'm sure others appreciate the seams across the legs but they bugged me. I got the trail pants instead, even though the black is less saturated. I would have liked belt loops for a fabric belt on both styles of pants, but I'm keeping the trail pants because the fabric is similar to the cycling capris, which are seemingly indestructible after a few years of wear and many washings.

These pants have a cute casual look, and are very comfortable. I usually wear a M, but ordered a S, and they fit well. The fabric is extremely light, maybe too light. I am sending them back because the length is far too short for me. If only a medium tall were offered. I would recommend to a person who doesn't require a long inseam.

These pants fit loose enough to move well whether on the trail or just in town, and they still look slim and don't get baggy. But, and it is a big one, they pill. Where the seat belt hits, where a purse hangs, it does not matter - any rubbing ends up with pilled up sections on the pants. That was extremely disappointing because they are so comfortable in hot weather.

I am 5'2" 134lbs. Hips 37.5". I ordered size small because of reviews saying the pants run large. They did fit, not too tight. The stretch was nice. They were cute on, but I wanted a good day hiking pant. The side cargo pockets were pretty useless, not big enough for a phone, I guess a kleenex would fit in OK, but not a hanky or plastic bag (for picking up trash). The main reason I returned these is because the pants pulled against my legs/thighs when I walked. This is not an unusual problem. The pattern is designed wrong. A walking pant should not pull anywhere as that adds extra effort when walking. I thought about trying a medium, but I think it would fit too large. Sorry I can't comment on the length, I didn't pay attention and don't remember. However, I do agree they are cute on and for hanging around.

I purchased but returned the Vista Camp Pants. They were not as flattering on me, as in the picture. I prefer the L.L. Bean Southport Cargo Pants instead.

I bought the medium following the measurements listed and it literally was falling off me. I notice that LL Bean seems to be supersizing their clothing over the past few years? Aside from that, I liked the pockets but didn't find them too functional and too shallow to hold a cell phone without it falling out. The button details with the cloth loops look nice but are hard to do/undo. The loops at the bottom of the pants could use a cinch instead of having to tie them manually for easier adjustment.

Stretchy in every conceivable direction so comfy as can be, but the fabric is super lightweight and feels like it will snag easily. Odd cargo pockets are wide and shallow - my Samsung phone didn't fit in either direction. The drawstring is elastic. Returned them.

These pants fit great and are comfortable, but you have to be very careful not to rub up against anything scratchy, as they pick very easily. The whole left side of mine look like an old sweater. :) They also wrinkle a lot. If they weren't so darn comfortable, I wouldn't order them again.

The only good thing I have to say about these pants is that they are comfortable. The pockets are too small for a modern cell phone; they have buttons instead of Velcro, and opening them is harder. They are too expensive for the quality of the fabric.

I bought a pair of these about 6 years ago and loved the cut and feel of the fabric. I was however, disappointed in the piling of the fabric, especially in the upper leg area. In reading some of your customer reviews, it appears I am not the only one noting the issue. I am considering ordering a pair of capris, but am wondering if you have improved the fabric.

I have worn these pants for a few months. The fabric has pilled and multiple pulls. These pants are NOT made for outdoor activities. I chose to purchase from LL Bean because of it's reputation for quality. I am very disappointed in these pants.

I wanted to love these, however, besides the great fabric, these pants just did not work out. I found the cargo pockets useless, why do women's pants lack useful pockets?? My small phone did not even fit. Also, that seam across the thigh, so uncomfortable, why is that seam even there? Where is the gussett?

These were very unflattering style-wise. Baggy, shapeless. Also the size guide seemed inaccurate. Based on teh guide, I bought a large but I was swimming in them. I don't normally buy from LL Bean so I don't know what my size "should" be (I'm 5'4", 160 lbs).

I wish I would have returned these pants. They are very baggy in the legs and down through the ankles. Good around the house, but not outside the house. $80 is a lot to pay for ill fitting pants

These pants are too loose everywhere but the waist. The waist is too tight and I am trying to stretch it.

In the past 18 months I have purchased 5 pair of the Vista pants. They are very comfortable, wash easily although I hang them to dry. However I should have paid attention to those reviewers who said that they pill. Yes they do and it is very disappointing. I would not buy any more until they change the fabric.

They wrinkle! You have to hang them almost wet and then pull on the seams to straighten.

Pants are light weight and comfortable. Will be good for hot summer days. But the back pockets and pockets on the legs are useless. Unless you have a small flip phone, you won't get much in them. Come on designers! Women want and need usable pockets not cute decorations.

I loved these pants for the first several months I had them. They fit great and were perfect for working outdoors in Hawaii. However, after about 8 months they developed a fishy smell that I couldn't get rid of, even after washing them several times, including with tea tree oil, and leaving them out in the sun for several days. It might have been sun exposure that make something in the pant break down?

So comfortable and thought I'd go buy more until I washed them. They pilled and I can't get the pills off , disappointed because they may be the must comfortable pants ever. Just doesn't look good when a brand new pair of pants looks 20 yrs old after the first wash and yes I followed instructions for washing & drying.

I ordered per the size chart, but the pants were oversized. I was going to return them for an exchange, but the cost to return them seemed too high and the return process would take too long for me to be able to use these for an upcoming hiking trip.
