Very, very soft and comfy. I love, love, love all the pockets--six!--and the sage green color. The shorts are stretchy and not tight-fitting, and I'm 5'5" and about 116 lbs, so I got the size 4 and it fits well. (At about five pounds more not long ago, I got the size 6, and while they're a bit big now, they are so comfortable that I'm keeping them. I don't mind looser clothes--it's hot in SoCal--and I love pockets.) Would definitely recommend them. Cat claws will stick in them and may pull a thread. I'm a doting cat mom and don't mind the pull--the shorts straighten right out again and the pulled thread area's not very noticeable. But if that's an issue for you, you might prefer Bean shorts made of a heavier fabric.

Adding my voice - came to order another pair. I have 2 pair already and love them. I don't want a short with a tie string waist - I hate the bulge that comes from the tie if you don't tuck in your shirt. These are so comfortable on hot summer days! They wash well, and air dry quickly.

I have been wearing these shorts for years. I have them in several colors. I wanted to purchase some more and I see there is not an option to do so. Are these being discontinued? So sad..

I am devastated to see you have no more of the vista trekking shorts with zipper! I loved these shorts. I have three pair and wear all summer long. They are my summer uniform. Please do not discontinue or have elastic waist ones.

Like many others who have commented, these are my favorite active shorts. They are especially great for packing/travel. If they have indeed been permanently discontinued, will you be offering a similar replacement product?

These shorts are the best. The fit is great and they are great for the really hot weather. I've taken them everywhere traveling they're easy to pack and are so comfortable. I could not give this a higher rating. The best shorts I've ever owned.

I was planning to purchase more of these shorts - only to find out they are no longer available in my size. Very disappointing as they are my go-to summer shorts. I like the very light fabric and the many pockets. Perfect for everyday use and hiking. It always seems LLBean discontinues the products I love. Example: Fitness Fleece. I see others feel the same - perhaps LLB will bring them back!!!

These pants were great. I wear them all summer long - There's a pocket for my wallet, one for my keys, one for my phone, and one extra. They are quick drying and just great. They have held up well (although they do pill a bit). I am so bummed. I wish you had sent out notifications before you discontinued.
