i feel ridiculous feeling so strongly about this / writing this, but i have never hated a set of sheets until these, haha. they are horribly scratchy, even after multiple washes...i've actually had to switch back to old pillowcases because i can't fall asleep with these ones scratching my face! when i first got these sheets i washed them and then had a guest sleep on them, before i had tried them out...i'm mortified that i made my guest sleep on such uncomfortable sheets! i bought them because of good reviews, but now that i look more carefully it seems like more recent reviews are negative...based on ll bean responses it does seem like these have been updated recently...i definitely do not recommend them in their current state.

These sheets feel like sandpaper! I wanted to return them but didn't want the hassle as I was just getting around following surgery. So I washed them thinking it would help. I was WRONG! Hemstitching at the top is even worse. I see "Pima Cotton" and think soft and comfortable. What happened LLBean? Yours sheets were once the best for the price. Can't believe I spent $149.00 for these. At this price point I expect much better. I can get softer sheets from the lower end, big box type stores for a fraction of the price. Unfortunately they have been laundered, the packing disposed of along with the return stickers and I'm not paying to return them. I was planning to purchase the flannel sheets next but now I'm not so sure.

The fabric is very soft. I loved the color. A couple of months ago I noticed that the fabric was fraying and getting very thin in the middle of the sheet. I purchased it at the end of 2016. I was disappointed that the sheet didn't hold up to the quality that I have always had with LL Bean.

I bought these because I am a HUGE fan of LL Bean's products but these things are very uncomfortable. I should have heeded the reviews that said they were rough but I figured based on the positive reviews and the rave report of a national Consumer Magazine the negative reviews were outliers, they were not. PROS: - They fit well - Seem well tailored CONS: - Very scratchy even after washing, I made the bed, my wife ran her hand across the bed and said "NO" - Price - 2 versus 4 pillow cases as found in many sets

I grew up with ll bean cotton sheets and they were always so wonderful. These feel like actual sandpaper on your skin. Especially on the pillowcases, it's impossible to ignore the painful scratchy feel to the cotton. I am so disappointed and don't even want to use them.

I was very disappointed in these sheets. I washed them first and they came out a wrinkled mess. I have had percale sheets before that felt smooth and soft to the touch but these do not. I do not look forward to sleeping on them tonight. I will learn to live with them but not happy about my purchase which is something that I have never said before about L.L. Bean products...

I plan to return these sheets, washed them twice hoping to soften them but they're still scratchy.

We purchased this sheet set after much research and review reading and were extremely disappointed. My husband had to remove the sheets in the middle of the night just to try to get some rest. These sheets are crisp and itchy, not luxurious and soft like we wanted. We understood that pima cotton is a type with extra-long fibers, I just didn't realize I'd feel those fibers crawl across my face like insects when my cheek slid across the pillowcase. We tried the "hack" of washing with a vinegar rinse, but nothing could get that sandpaper feel out of the sheets. I wish we would have spent more time reading the 1 and 2 star reviews.

Utterly disappointing. On the first wash, I followed the instructions listed on the tag, but ended up with terrible brown stains throughout. Not even Spray-and-Wash would get them out. I tried to discuss with customer service, but they blamed my washer. Seems interesting that the only time I've ever experienced this staining issue is with these sheets. Look elsewhere

I've purchased a set of these sheets about 2 years ago for a twin sized bed that hardly gets any use. The fitted sheet unraveled and developed huge holes, and LL Bean wouldn't even send me a replacement. Made in China and not durable anymore, be warned!

I have a Tempurpedic King size bed. I called L.L. Bean after I put the fitted sheet on to inform them that it was too big. I told them I have a regular King Size bed, not a California King Size bed. The rep told me it shouldn't matter. It definitely does! How is a 1-sized sheet designed to fit 2 sizes? It can't. The sheets are too big and whenever I tossed and turned, the fitted sheet would fold underneath my body and then pull up around the corner closest to my upper body. I would have to re-adjust the corner elastic fitting area around the mattress every morning after waking up. I can't believe this isn't a problem with other customers. I puzzled why this product received such great reviews. So glad L.L. Bean has a great return policy and exceptional customer service.

I have purchased these sheets in the past and been very happy with them, so I happily and confidently ordered them again. This time, I am very dissatisfied. The sheets have a shiny/slimey feel to them. I will not be buying them again.

We have slept on LL Bean pima cotton sheets for years. We returned this set because the texture of the sheets was unpleasant. They were coarse and the overall texture of much cheaper fabrics.

I am very disappointed in these sheets. They are far too big for a twin mattress and uncomfortable as they slip off while sleeping.

I never write reviews on items, but I was so disappointed in these sheets!!! They are rough and scratchy and not at all what I was expecting. I read the reviews and ordered them thinking I was getting a great set of sheets for a good price, unfortunately, I got a set of sheets I will probably never use unless absolutely necessary. I could have gotten a set of sheets at Wal-Mart for a lot less that feels better than these sheets!!!! Don't waste your money!

I ordered these sheets based on the reviews. The fitted sheet doesn't have good elastic and even if it did it is way too big for my 15-inch mattress. No one wants to sleep on a sheet that is all bunched up and not smooth. It isn't smooth even before sleeping on it because it is so big. I will stick with Wamsutta Dream Zone 1000-thread count Pima cotton sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond. Best fitted sheets by far and only $10 more with coupon. I'm sorry I wasted money on these.

Only after laundering these sheets for the first time did I discover that the fabric is chemically treated to reduce wrinkling. While the treatment fails to make the sheets wrinkle free, it does make it impossible to iron them to a crisp finish: the worst of both worlds. In addition, the treatment imparts a sickly pinkish tinge to the set of white sheets that I ordered. The fabric also has a very unpleasant hand due to the chemical treatment. Had the website described these sheets as 'treated' or 'no-iron' or any other term that would have alerted me to the fact that they are not simply cotton percale sheets, I would not have ordered them. If LL Bean wants to sell no-iron sheets, then it should have them treated effectively and labeled accordingly. And in any case, LL Bean should offer an untreated cotton percale sheet set.

I am also wondering if these sheets have changed in some way, as I found them to be among the worst I've slept on. They were very scratchy and made me itch, which I've never experienced before. I washed them five times in hopes they would soften, but they did not. I returned them to LL Bean without a problem. The sales rep at my local store was great.

I purchased these sheets based upon reviews and even ratings on other websites and these were not soft or smooth in any way. Very scratchy. I know the difference between percale and sateen...I know I want percale but these were not good.

I read many reviews and was looking forward to receiving my order. When I opened the package I noted the scratchy feel of the sheets. I thought laundering would improve this. While the sheets are crisp, I could never stand the scratchy overtone against my skin. I will use the sheets somewhere but not on my bed. Perhaps over time they will improve.

Bought this set a few months ago. Thought the finishing was very nice, however, the fabric was quite coarse compared to a cheaper comparable percale set from another well known box store. Ended up giving them away.

I have had these sheets for a while and with the exception of the fabric above the hemstitch they don't wrinkle. The fabric above the hemstitch wrinkles so badly that if you don't iron it, what should be about 4" wrinkles to less than an inch. It's INCREDIBLY annoying. If this isn't a problem for you then the sheets are great, if it is DO NOT BUY THEM.

One star for the color, it matches my existing linens perfectly. Otherwise, these are very rough and scratchy. They felt ok in the package so I washed and dried them twice before using. I couldn't fall asleep because these made me itch so badly, had to change the sheets. Will not buy again.

This sheet set is the same quality that I expect from LL Bean. It is like the sheets that I slept on as a child in the 1950's. The thread count is superior and you can feel the difference. I would recommend these sheets to anyone who enjoys a quality product that will last for a long time.
