I got these yesterday, washed them and they tore as I put them on the bed. Ended up having to remove them and go wash the old sheets. Wish I hadn't washed them so I could return them.

I made this purchase after a certain viral review. I was looking for a durable and comfortable set and based on what I read these seem ideal.
First, these sheets wrinkle very easily. I washed them before I used them and was suprised to see all the ceases. Do people iron their bed sheets? I don't.
Second, the texture is stiffer and rougher than I'm used to. Even after a 2nd wash, the sheets are not particularly soft.
Third, (and I know I risk embarrassing myself) the pillow cases quickly showed darken stains. This occurred in a matter of days. This has never happened before and didn't disappear after a 2nd wash. (Yes, I bathe on a regular basis.)
I can't recommend and will not purchase another set. I'll stick with the much lighter and more comfortable microfiber style sheets. They don't winkle, keep me cool and are far cheaper.

Returned these sheets. I'm not even a prima Donna and they were too scratchy for me to be able to sleep. They stick when you try to turn over. Honestly, worst sheets I ever purchased.

I bought these sheets expecting high quality. First, the bottom sheet was WAY too big despite my bed having a thick mattress. The sheets slid around. But I kept them. They have a mice percale feel. Fast forward 11 months and the bottom sheet started having small tears in one corner. I wish I'd immediately returned them. Now, 2 months later (13 months after purchase), the bottom sheet has worn thin all over and has a Silver Dollar sized spot that is threadbare with a hole in the middle.
I wash my sheets in cold water once a week. There is no reason for a $189 sheet to rip like this except poor quality.
Now LL Bean says I have to pay $6.50 to return them and they MIGHT okay the return. They might not. I've shopped at LL Bean for decades but will not again. No recognition of customer loyalty and poor quality. Do not recommend.

My first disappointment with these sheets was the color. They are called mint green and they look like mint green in the photo, but it is more of a blue color. The sheets felt a bit crinkly, but I figured they would soften up after several washings. They didn't. The bottom sheet does not fit well. I can only tuck under the mattress at one end at bottom of the bed - they are ok on the 2 sides. Can't get all 4 corners to fit on the corner. The elastic is not sewn in...it is loose inside the seamed track for it, so since it moves around, one side is always too tight. The top sheet sort of "sticks" to the bottom sheet. You can't drape it onto the bed and pull it where you want it, you have to lift it up and place it in the right place. What really disappoints me is that they had the Good Housekeeping Seal.

After less than 3 years the pillow cases have begun to fray very badly. Given the company's reputation and price I was expecting a higher quality item from LL Bean. I have similar sheets from other brands for longer that don't have this issue.
I can't recommend these sheets and would encourage others to look elsewhere.

I expect sheets to last more than 5 or 6 years. I had THREE bottom sheets develop large tears. Because I purchased them more than a year ago, Customer Service said there was nothing they could do, nor would they entertain the possibility that their supplier might be at fault. I expect better quality and service from LL Bean.

Received the sheets and notices rhe flat sheet had a tear in it. It was a defect that looked like a slice in the material where the threads just didn't connect. I'm surprised it was not detected by the quality control process.
I elected for a return and received a full refund which waa a breeze.

I was really disappointed in these sheets after reading good reviews. They had a plastic artificial feel and slept hot.

These sheets do not stay on my bed. I was hoping they would have reinforcements to stay in place. I am tired of buying expensive sheets when they don't stay in place. They are not worth the money.

I bought these sheets to replace a set of L.L. Bean percale sheets that I had used for many years. The fitted bottom sheet is way too large, much larger than my previous sheets. I never imagined that the specs for a "full" size mattress would have changed.

I bought these sheets in May, and they've been my favorite but now the fitted sheet is torn. I'm so heartbroken that I spent so much and now it's already ruined.

Worst sheets I have ever purchased!
Due to Wirecutter recommendation, and the fact that I had Bean Bucks available, I ordered these king size sheets! In the past, I have loved the sheets from LL Bean, but not these!
1) The fabric is too thin! Previous sheets I have ordered were from Portugal and thicker material
2) Way too large for my king size mattress; bottom fitted sheet bunches up and does not fit snugly on the mattress; top flat sheet hangs almost to the floor! These description stated these were 'crisp'!
3) Even with my Bean Bucks, I still paid $83.38

We purchased a king-size fitted sheet for our 14-inch mattress. However, the sheet is incredibly large, making it impossible to achieve a snug fit. As a result, it bunches up and comes off at night. Every morning, we have to pull the fitted sheet back over the corners of the mattress. I would have returned the sheet, but unfortunately, I washed them before using never expecting such a poor fit. Very disappointing based on the price.

Wow these are terrible quality. There must have been a manufacturing change because these were well-reviewed but they are thread bare. Absolutely terrible. I can see the mattress pattern through the sheet and they are so flimsy they don't really stay tucked. I expect better from LL Bean.

These sheets are off-putting by being coated with some type of substance that makes them feel slick and thicker than pure cotton sheets should. The sheet feels like a non-iron cotton fabric rather than 100% cotton. In both the washer and dryer, the sheets shed a mysterious sort of lint composed of bright white, short dry fluffy fibers. These fibers are not the usual cotton lint. These fibers are very fine and slick and are surprisingly difficult to completely remove from the dryer lint screen. Much of it is more like a dust that will pass through the screen when you try to remove it. After the first dry, my lint screen was completely caked in this stuff. Really, no significant lint should come from percale cotton sheets. What is this substance? Several washes and dries later, and it is still coming off. It's gross. Furthermore: $200+ for sheets and pillow cases now Made in China.

I bought this set in Sept 2024. After two washings, I noticed faded splotches on the pillow cases I contacted LL Bean and was disappointed that I had to return the entire set and $6.50 would be subtracted from my refund.

In November of 2023 I purchased a set of these 280 Thread Count sheets and pillow cases and now, barely a year later, a huge hole has developed in the fitted sheet and the edges of both pillow cases have frayed and come apart. I am really disappointed in the quality of these sheets as well as LL Bean in general. Their level of quality and detailed workmanship has gone done tremendously lately. So much so that I am seriously considering closing my Bean Credit Card and buying elsewhere. It's really sad that they are allowing this to happen as I have been a customer for many years.

I really thought I'd love this sheet set because it was recommended by Wirecutter. However the fitted sheet is way too big for my king size mattress and the elastic corners did not hug the mattress. As a result it was not a tight fit and constantly needed pulling and tucking. In the end I've decided to return them as I couldn't bear the discomfort of the constantly rumpled sheet. I've never had this problem with a fitted sheet before.

I bought these sheets 2 years ago and the fitted sheet just split to the point that they're completely unusable (see pic). Can't even return them - since been over a year, customer service says I'd have to send the full set at which point they may or may not replace them and won't send the rest of the set back if they don't. Huge waste of money- these aren't the quality LL Bean tries to market and they definitely don't stand by their product after a year.

Whenever I have ordered from L.L. Bean, I expect and I get superior quality. Until now.
These sheets are not as advertised. I am very familiar with Pima Cotton, Supima Cotton, percale sheets, etc..
These sheets do not have the feeling of cotton. These sheets are uncomfortable to sleep in (a slimy feel), very thin, and have the distinct feeling of rayon or some similar material.
I am very disappointed in the quality of these sheets, and I will never buy sheets from LLBean again.

I have been purchasing these 280 count sheets for almost 20 years from LLBean. As one of my sets was getting frayed, I purchased a new set. The hand feel of these new sheets is slippery and slick with none of the heft and softness of my older sheets. I thought about upgrading to the pricier Egyptian sheets but see that there are similar comments. It's sad to see the difference as I considered my LL Bean sheets a joy to sleep in.

I was so excited for these because I'm used to high quality from LL Bean. My husband washed them, but they weirdly didn't smell like clean sheets normally do (they smelled like nothing). When I went to bed, my face was immediately itchy from laying on the pillow case. I have extremely sensitive skin, so I thought maybe it was just me, but my husband, who does not have sensitive skin, thought the same. Neither of us slept that night and I was itchy the entire next morning. $180 for a set of white sheets is not cheap and I expected way better than this. There has to be some sort of additive or treatment during manufacturing because these sheets feel nothing like cotton. I can get softer sheets at target for less than $80.
We will obviously be returning these. I'm not sure how they have so many 5 star reviews.
