I recently ordered my 4th set of LL Bean percale sheets. Something has changed with them - they feel slipperier now and seem lighter weight compared to the same sheets I have ordered over the past several years. Not sure if this is a bad thing, but they are not the same fabric as before, and when I washed them for the first time there seemed to be much more lint in my dryer lint filter than before.

I bought these sheets, my third set, and this new set came with a sateen finish, definitely not percale. I washed them four times in a row to get rid of that finish, somewhat. The previous sets were soft and cotton-y right from the start. Not sure what changed but please go back to the old style.

Fitted sheet does not fit securely to mattress and becomes detached at the corners.

I bought these just over a year ago. They showed signs of wear very quickly. I had to throw them out when they ripped. For the price, I would have thought they'd hold up better and last longer.

Fabric is great. The sheets are VERY large. They're too big for my bed, so they're constantly slipping off and bunching up. My mattress is an average depth but still not deep enough.

These sheets seemed great when I first put them on the bed but after a couple of nights using them they get saggy baggy. I prefer tight fitting sheets.

Gift so I do not have a full review! Probably okay and color was perfect!

I purchased this sheet set in July of 2019. The sheets have been very soft, cool, and breathable. But after 3.5 years, the fitted sheet has become very thin and is starting to have small rips in many places. While I do think that the sheets were great, I can't recommend such an expensive sheet set that will only last about 3.5 years. I expected these to last at least a decade.

These sheets are soft but too big for my king bed. They don't fit the corners snugly at all and so they're always bunched up.

I first purchased LL Bean 280 thread count Pima percale sheets around 12 years ago when I remarried. I purchased 3 king sets. I love the crisp feel of the sheets and they softened somewhat as the years passed but still remain a nice thickness and crispness. They have worn like iron. About 2 or 3 years ago I had to replace one of the flat sheets due to rust stains from old washing machine. I noticed immediately a difference in the feel of the fabric. Very slick and not as substantial sheet. I thought the slickness would disappear after a couple of washings but it hasn't. I have also replaced two sets of pillowcases last year due to fraying. The fabric is slick also. I need to replace another set but am hesitant to purchase this item again due to this change in the quality. My 12 year old sheets are holding up well but I notice that there are several recent reviews from people complaining about the bottom sheet ripping. The pillow cases I purchased last year were made in China. It is possible that my 12 year old sheets were made in the US using different manufacturing methods and that would explain difference.

Bottom sheet seems a bit loose on my queen size bed, but it may be because of my mattress. Otherwise, the sheets are great.

I purchased these as a Christmas gift based off of a New York Times review - at $159 for a set of nice, cotton sheets I expected some level of luxury. These are almost scratchy. Disappointed but hopeful they will soften with time. LL Bean products do tend to stand the rest of time so there's that!

The queen size top sheet is smaller than usual, width-wise, so the corners can't be tucked in at the foot and the sheet pulls out every night. The pillow cases are skimpy, too.

I think they are soft but the Mr. thinks they are noisy and scratchy.

Fabric is thinner than I thought. It also wrinkles easily. Comfort is fair.

Comfortable, but one major drawback. Any tiny bit of body oils show up in a disgusting manner on the sheets and pillowcases, and require extreme frequent washing. Won't purchase again.

I have a thick mattress on a high, wooden bed, but. . . .the fitted bottom sheet is too loose, and the top sheet hangs below my L.L. Bean quilt. I've already washed and dried the set, so won't return, but I'm not a happy camper.

As other have noted, the sheets have a plastic-y feel out of the box. This went away after the first wash, and they became silky and lovely to the touch. They were very thin, but still nice to sleep on. My biggest frustration with the sheets though is that the elastic on the fitted sheet is so sad and weak, we constantly had to be pulling them back onto the bed. The mattress is not overly thick, definitely seems like they should have been able to stay on. Returning.

I had heard so much about these sheets but they are not very soft, actually they're scratchy. I can't use the pillow cases because they irritate my skin.

These sheets have great reviews but I don't like them at all. They do have a silky feel which is great but they are very thin. I don't see them lasting longer than a year. I can see my hand through them. They also feel crispy. Like I can almost fold them like a paper bag. For the price, this is a hard pass.

Ordered these based on the NYT Wirecutter recommendation. They are good quality but not soft at all, even after several washings in hot water. I'm keeping them as backup sheets but using a softer set for daily use.

I read reviews of these sheets and they sounded great. The pillow cases are really scratchy against my face. I don't notice it as much on the sheets. The sheets fit well on my deep mattress and the pillow cases are plenty large.

Not quality percale. Still roughness to the fabric. Not cool fabric. Nice color. Will not order another set.

I'm not impressed. They do not feel crisp and new like other LL Bean sheets I have purchased. They feel like sheets I've had in the house for some time. They are nothing special.

Not the softness of percale I remember. After wash number 3 the pillowcase still feels a little rough on my cheeks. I wonder about sizing on the fabric. Not the softness of my pima pajamas either. Elastic all around not my preference. Bottom sheet too loose. Durability not in question. I hope they soften in time.
