My wife loves this bag. she uses this bag as a pocketbook. She loves the waterproofing.

I ordered this rugged tote for my husband for Christmas and was surprised and impressed with the quality. However, it did appear quite a bit larger than the dimensions listed on the LL Bean website. As a result, my husband decided it wasn't exactly right for his specific purpose. I highly recommend it, though I had to return it.

I purchased this bag for my daughter who uses it primarily to transport her dog parafinalia when she visits with them. I have a different size, and believed it would fit her needs; it does. I have, obviously been very pleased with my bag.

My daughter uses this bag daily for work to hold lunch as well as any items that would be found in a purse. She loves it. It is well made and can withstand any abuse that comes with daily use.

This is the best bag of all time, and I rarely travel without it. PLEASE LL Bean - bring back the black option. I have no use for olive drab, and plain black seems to be more universal and goes with everything. I would love to buy more! I have the medium and it fits over the handle of a suitcase which is extremely convenient, and it's lightweight while being extremely sturdy. The zipper keeps things very secure but there's easy access to the contents.

this bag is amazing! love it! it needs to come in other colors though! have you considered a solid navy blue, black, or red?? I want to buy more as gifts, but not everyone wants the olive color or camo.

Great bag! Bought many as gifts for the men in my life and now I want one for myself. I don't want camouflage or hunter green. I had the black bags monogrammed- very handsome. Please bring back the black option!

The bag is exactly as described. Good quality material, good size. It would be perfect if it had an outside pocket for a water bottle - just a suggestion, I knew it didn't have one when I ordered it. Again, it was what I expected. I always appreciate that LL Bean describes products correctly and the quality is always good.

honestly I bought this bag to store a lot of my dog's apparel, toys, dishes, etc so that it would be easy for me to just grab the bag when we're heading out the door for a day or two.

More than enough space for intended uses from hauling dirty biking gear to carrying DJ stuff. Have a smaller one that's just as useful, but the shoulder strap is a nice addition.

gave as gifts to my family in lieu of Christmas stockings... it was a BIG HIT!! adults got these and kids got small canvas bags in red or green... so fun and very useful. They all agreed to bring them every Christmas for Santa to fill :)

So this is my 4th L.L. Bean tote in a matter of a few months! I am officially an addict & will be ordering another for myself & my daughter this holiday season. The bag is sturdy, roomy, durable & I love to monogram either my initials or name on it. Gives it a great personal feel & I know that no one else will have my exact bag! Thank you L.L. Bean for making such a great bag in different colors & sizes to choose from!

I bought this as tote bag for wet dirty fishing waders to put in the back of my SUV. The bag is actually excellent and would serve a lot of purposes really well. I just decided when I got it that a hard plastic bin would be a better option to putting my dirty waders in instead of this which I would have to clean to use it for other purposes and then it would be a bit of a pain to clean. However, the construction of the bag is excellent and up to Bean standards. I did return it but would buy it back if I could find another purpose for it. The XL is definitely large enough to hold a large set of bootfit waders. I would opt for the medium first. I did notice the noisy hardware on it as others mentioned but it didn't bother me. Nice color too. Would make a great beach or picnic bag and also make a handsome gift for any outdoorsman.

I use this bag for work. It holds my lunch, a sweater, various trinkets and my purse. So instead of bringing 4 different bags they all fit into this one. The squeak.... I read all about this squeak and I decided to buy despite the annoying noise everyone was mentioning. Mine squeaked the very first day I bought it (I felt there was a I told you so from the other reviewers). I oiled/greased to no avail. One day I simply switched the clasp to clipping in from the other direction and it hasn't squeaked since. Literally that's all I did. Hopefully this simple fix will help the others. I completely recommend this bag. Super sturdy and big enough for the kitchen sink.

Just the right size. Well made. Did not purchase to use for hunting.

Had to return the Extra-Large bags as they were way too big for my use. I replaced them with 2 large size bags and they are prefect. I've had and used continuously 3 canvas bags for over 40 years and they finally started to fall apart so i was happy that LL Bean is still there and could supply me with new ones. These are exactly what I needed and would always be happy to recommend anyone to this outstanding supplier.

This is a major upgrade for transporting books and things. If your even slightly uncomfortable with backpacks this is the best alternative.

The bag is true to its description and picture. The best quality, and will handle the toughest use!! I would definitely purchase again.

I bought the XL and medium bags for going to the range. Both bags are solid and sturdy. I found the XL too big for what I needed it for but still a quality bag. The medium bag is the perfect size for two hand guns.

I own a Medium and Large version of the Hunter's Tote Bag with Zip-Top. I bought them to haul food and other heavy loads back to our remote hunting camp (a 20 min walk on a tough trail), and have used them extensively now for two hunting seasons. They are the best bags I've ever owned for this purpose. Quiet to carry in the woods (very important - no loose straps or buckles to make unwanted noise), waterproof, tough, stand up straight and do not fall over when loaded, and the zip-top keeps things in place and dry. The straps are just the right length and are comfortable to carry for my hunting application (please do not lengthen the handles as other reviewers are asking for). I would like to order more identical bags, but notice that to order the Zip-Top versions, I also have to now buy the bag with a shoulder strap, which has added to the cost, and will make unnecessary noise in the woods. Please bring back the previous version without the shoulder strap. Overall these are excellent bags!

I have purchased 12 or more of these bags previously in the older style in the various sizes. The are very useful and well made. My only complaint was that they had the attachments for a shoulder strap, but didn't come with a shoulder strap. My Excellent rating is based on the new model with the carrying straps, as I would rate the older version without the straps as good. Obviously, the folks at LLBean saw this as a negative point and the new bags now come with carrying straps. But what about the folks who purchased the old style. I called today to see if I can purchase carrying straps separately to upgrade mine and was told they weren't available. To provide the best service to previous loyal customers, it would be great if the straps could be purchased separately to upgrade the previous style.

I've been using the medium bag for about 3 or 4 weeks and it's as good as the large but the size is much better. It's easier to carry on the shoulder, too. I can fit my insulated lunch pack in it, plus a water bottle and a few other things. It would also work well if used as a tote for a shopping trip or whatever. The "hardware" on this one is plastic, whereas it is metal on the large bag. These bags do well in the rain, seem to shed water very well. The inside of the medium and large bags have a rubber-like coating. I still kept the large bag; I'll use it for something else. Both are very nice-looking bags. I'm very pleased with this one and would definitely recommend it.

I love this bag and bought two black ones for my kids to use as overnight bags. I wish it had at least one interior pocket but it's still a great bag and looks nice. I'd love to buy more!! Can you please start making the black again in large and XL??
