I read all the reviews about thes shoes, and decided everyone seemed happy with the fit. I'd been looking for black weather proof shoes for awhile, so I ordered them and received them before Christmas 22. When I opened the box, I got a really strong musty, old basement smell from the shoes. I wore them twice, but each time my socks take on this bad smell. I let them air out, I placed a charcoal pack in one shoe, to see if that would make a difference. I adore Llbean and have never had a bad product. Has anyone else had this issue with this shoe?!?? The smell is weird and hasn't changed, even though they've had plenty of time to air out..

Currently wearing these on a trip to Scotland. They've been comfortable walking on pavement and gravel, and are proving to be water resistant. They are not a rugged shoe, so they wouldn't work for serious hiking. I go between a 9 and a 9.5 and found that the 9 fit best.

I usually wear size 6 but I ordered half size up. My feet are swollen sometime and I thought it will be good to allow my feet some room and I can wear thick socks. I regretted because even I wear thick socks and I still can put a finger behind my heel, too roomy!! Shoes fit like water shoes, very snuck even they are too big but my feet still stay in place. It doesn't have good support for the feet. I had to spent another $20 for new insoles. I love the style and I tried to make it work.

I am breaking these boots in. Not used to wearing mid boots and have gotten a blister. Nothing a bandaid can't fix. All in all they are very comfortable in the length and toe area. Like the fact that they grip very well - almost like a winter sneaker.

Comfort is this shoe's first name. I am on my feet all day long and these go for the miles.

I love these shoes and have nearly worn them out. Why were they discontinued? I truly want another pair exactly like this!

These were very comfortable right from the start. I had to stand for a few hours and walk a few miles on the first day - absolutely fine! They do not hurt my feet which are developing various pains for non-shoe related reasons. I'd love to buy another pair in brown, but alas none are to be found in any color on the LL Bean website :(. I bought these at an LL Bean outlet in mid-October. Let me know if you have any more, or if there is another style like this. I like the side zip which makes it easy for on/off.

I love these shoes. I use them for sloppy weather, and they keep my feet dry. They were very comfortable the first time I wore them, and there was no breaking in. The size is very true to most shoes. I have them on now!

I bought these because they were on sale and I had some Bean Bucks to spend. They've turned into my favorite shoes! Comfortable, easy on/off, nice with jeans and slacks.

I've had these shoes over a year and I love them. Knowing LL Bean will only carry them for a little while, I bought a back up pair! They are perfect for travel as my feet never get sore no matter how much walking I do. Taking them to Ireland this year.

bought these only because of the drastic price reduction and have worn them daily for my dog walks down my muddy road. fit well, great arch support, and all around love them. If they had my size left I would buy another pair.

Sturdy fit, easy on/off, and super flexible. Great for light hikes, walking, running errands.

I boutvthis at the LL Bean outlet and did not expect to like it so much. I used them for hiking in Arizona mountains and they were very reliable! I would buy them at full price!

Got these on sale and was pleasantly surprised. From the start they were comfortable, no need to break them in.

I bought these on sale for a pair of shoes I can easily slip into when I take the dog out, and they work well for that. They are high enough for walking in an inch or two of snow and have a good sole to prevent slipping. I usually buy narrow shoes, and these don't come in narrow, but they work for me, because the tops go over my ankles. I also wear them for short walks, but would prefer a more supportive footbed for longer ones.

These shoes are so comfortable and cute; a win-win for me.

The most comfortable shoes I have purchased in a decade. I only made the purchase because they were on sale and I didn't have a pair of gray shoes.

I wrote a review for these when I got them and it never was shown. Maybe because they were sold out around that time. Wish I could remember what wrote but I do love these! They are so comfortable and I have much better traction on ice going to the mailbox, what I was hoping for. I am very happy with them.

These boots have been very comfortable. So comfortable in fact , that my reservations about the design have become irrelevant. So far the zippers are doing well.
