I was so very excited to get this shoe! After only 5 days they glue came apart and the sole separated on the left shoe. After 2 the right shoe did the same thing! After the 3 weeks the leather is breaking down as well. I was extremely disappointed, I saved up for the shoes to work in and they didn't even last a month. Just unacceptable!

The shoes came apart in less than a week. Is not just me or a bad batch of glue. There is a design flaw. The flexible part of the mid section should not be relying glue because the flex of the shoe is concentrated on that area due to the thick toe cap. The sole should be vulcanized to the midsole with a more robust method.

Bought these shoes for my daughter and she wore them for less than two weeks before the glue that holds the rubber sole to the shoe started to separate. Now both shoes leak & are not waterproof. I contacted VANS vis email and submitted their required claim form over 1 month ago and have not received a response.

I've only owned this shoe for less than a month and probably only have less than 4 miles on the shoe. The glue that holds the rubber sole to the shoe is separating. Seems like they were well-made when I purchased them but there's a weak point in the shoes design. The shoe is not 100% waterproof. Other than that I really love the shoes I'm sending them back for a refund. The left and right shoe glue points are in the same condition!

Just put these on day two and the seem is ripping at the toe already. I have pictures

I only wore these boots on three separate very light hikes to break the boots in and the rand on the right boot by the ball of my toe, and the left sole are already separating from the upper at the foot arch. Unfortunately, I got these as a gift from a friend and there's probably no chance I'm getting these replaced. Pictures to show what I mean included. These boots are not meant for any serious outdoor activities, if they are fall apart during break-in.

I love the MTE 3 but the glue on the side keeps coming undone. I've returned 3 pairs already within a months time. I am done returning them. I am just going to keep them and bite the bullet on these.

I bought the same model of these shoes last year. I still rock those like they're new. This year's model has a defective glue that will make part of the heel detach after a few walks. So disappointed and honestly, really frustrated. How did VANS let this huge QC slip? Maybe it's just a certain size batch that got defective up, but QC really matters, especially for a shoe brand like VANS. Will be returning this unfortunately.

I love the look and feel of these boots, they repel water extremely well. However after only two weeks of wearing them every other day at work cleaning pools the bottom rubber sole is coming completely loose from the leather, I can fit a good 4 fingers inside the gap, so now I've got to buy some shoe goo and hope that works.

I really like the style and color of these Sk8-Hi Gore-Tex MTE-3. They look great in person, and if not for the defect I would have bought multiple versions. Unfortunately, I went through three pairs of these and all three pairs had the same identical defect where the outsole was not properly bonded to the midsole. This meant that as the whole flexed the rubber sole would detach from the midsole and you could hear the failed glue sticking and releasing. Such an apparent critical defect on three straight pairs of these shoes makes me question what kind of QC Vans does for any of their shoes. The way these shoes were packaged seemed to look like they were all returns as well. None of the usual tissue paper or stuffing was in the shoes as you would expect with an unopened new pair of shoes. So I feel like Vans is not only aware of the issue, but actively ignoring it and reselling defective shoes.

Bought these new from the website to accommodate my MTE1's for cold and wet mornings. Wore these for 6 hours on a Sunday and the sole began to delaminate. Had high hopes but not anymore.

I have a pair of Sk8-Hi in leather that I absolutely love and they are a size 11.5 so I ordered the same in these and the fit was very different. These were much too big for me. I used the return service to return and it's been over a week and I haven't heard anything from Vans. The top loops are pictured as a cream colour in one of the product images but they are actually silver. Despite it all I really liked the look of these and hope to resolve the return and sizing issues.

I really loved these shoes until i would've gave them five stars the first week I got them I wore them for less than a month and they started coming apart I'm so sad that I can't send them back because it states must be unworn to return would give 0 stars if I could for quality of the material
