Customer Reviews New Balance Dynasoft Nitrel v5

As somebody with big (size 14) feet requiring wide/extra wide sizes, I struggle to find shoes that are both good looking and comfortable. I'd heard great things about New Balance, but these just aren't doing it for me. For a wide shoe, the toe box is surprisingly narrow and the shoe feels overall kind of clunky. For now, I am sticking with Nike Revolution 6 Next Nature, but it looks as if these are being discontinued, and I need another great all-black sneaker for my giant feet!

Love the look of these shoes. But this is the first pair of any NB shoes that required buying a different size. They were a half size too small. Once I got the larger size they fit better and matched up with my other pairs of NB shoes that were half size smaller. The only complaint I have is that the toe box is not very tall. My big toe rubs against the top of the shoe. The firm material of the toe guard makes it worse. But I am hoping it will loosen up as I wear them more. Other than the toe issue (which probably wouldn't affect most people), they are very comfortable.

Typically a size 11 but this was 1/2 size to small in length, so returned for 11.5. The shoe has zero arch support but that's fine as I always use custom orthotics in my athletic shoes. will review later when new size arrives.

Worried for the first few hours if I was truly going to like them, by the 3rd day I hate to take them off at the end of the day.

the back side robs against the aquiles tendon area little. Overall great shoes.

After owning many pairs of 14-4E New Balance that fit perfectly, I was disappointed that these did not. My toes were touching the front of the sneaker and pressing against the front side as well. They seem to be cut smaller than usual. I had to return them.

I usually wear a 10.5 W but seeing as these tend to run a bit small, I ordered an 11 wide. The length was fine, but these were extremely wide. There was "extra" space even laced up tightly.

Felt like there was no give at all in the sole. I guess perfect for running trails but not good at all for just a walk.

I have large feet and a bunion and require a wide toe box. These are not true 4E width, they are much narrower. I buy New Balance almost exclusively and these are the first New Balance shoes they were so incorrectly sized.

The length might have been true to size but my husband couldn't tell because of the low and stiff toe box.

Very disappointed that the shoe did not fit. I normally wear 10.5 4e shoes. Just looking at them from the box they looked small. I could not find any writing on the shoe that confirmed the size. There was only an exterior tag with the letter W. I have 4 other old pairs of shoes the same size. 3 Asics and a pair NB. The new shoes looked a full size shorter than the others and definitely narrower. I liked the look of the shoe but function before fashion when your on your feet 12 hrs. day, so I will be returning these. If there was a mistake and I was sent wrong size I would definitely exchange them. However, I don't want to order and return 3 times just trying to find the right size on this particular model shoe. Probably just go with Asics again as they always seem to fit

I've had the same size foot for 40 years. And this shoe did not fit. Order a size up if you want it to fit. :()
