Before, I had a Atom LT and I loved it. So, you replace this before is broken, and I order the same, but I received Atom Hoody. I have cold with this, I prefered Atom Lt, than more hot.

I ordered this Atom jacket to replace my decade old Atom LT, which I absolutely loved! It was perfect and I wore it all year round. But this revised version doesn't seem to work for me. I own many Arc'teryx jackets, all in size small, and they all fit perfectly except this new Atom. It's too tight under the arms and the sleeve length is an inch too short. I am very disappointed. I went to the store to try the medium, but it's way too big. So I just ordered a Proton to see if the sizing will fit me better (although the color choices are more limited). Hope Arc'teryx will go back to the previous sizing, as it was perfect for me and I love their products.

These jackets have been my absolute favorite for the past 5-6 years. I wear them year-round, and I have loved everything about them. I own three. However, I just ordered the revised Atom Hoody, and I don't like the fit at all. The jacket is about 2" longer in the torso which totally changes the fit and makes it feel far less athletic. Sadly this jacket will be getting returned, and I guess I'll have to keep patching up my old Atom jackets to make them last a little longer.

As a resident of the Pacific Northwest I purchased this jacket because it is super versatile and I was able to wear it most days of the year. It is not water resistant but most of us PNW-ers don't use umbrellas or waterproof shells - we just "scoot" from place to place in the (light but persistent) winter rain. I wore it in all seasons and on rate occasion, as a warm layer for skiing under my SV waterproof shell. My only big disappointment with this jacket is that within less than a year, there was HEAVY pilling all over the front of the jacket. After learning that the issue would most likely not be covered under any sort of warranty, I decided to "unpill" it myself but now it looks grey and horrible. I guess I would say that if you are going to use this as a base layer, its money well spent but if you want it to look nice a few years in, consider buying a jacket with a firmer outer layer.

It is so frustrating that the women's version of this has the awful fleece side panels, while the men's version does not. Why have an insulated jacket if 1/3 of it isn't insulated?!? I also find the zipper comes up too high and is uncomfortable under my chin. I wouldn't wear it done up unless it was so cold that I needed to bury my face in it, in which case I would be wearing a warmer jacket. Please make it the same as the men's. I like the style better than the Proton (and there is a much better colour selection) but I dislike the side panels so much that I'm not sure if I will keep it.

I've been wearing this jacket as my go to mid layer for 13 years, in a medium, and it's always been my favourite layer. I'm really disappointed by the new fit- the medium is way bigger, and super baggy. The new small seems to fit the same as the old medium, except the sleeves are way shorter. Now I'll have to choose between cold wrists or a baggy jacket that doesn't fit underneath additional layers, which is kind of the point of a layering system vs. a coat to wear around town. it's getting really hard to find a brand that makes technical wear for women with an athletic build. Make this in a tall maybe?? You were the only brand I could always count on to fit me :(

Last year I was interested in buying the Atom hoodie, but I ended up not getting it because it didn't fit right when I tried it on in the store. I am not a "curvy" woman, but the hip area was still way too tight. When I sized up, the top part was way too big. In addition to the cut, I found the coat proportions in general did not fit me. Nothing seemed to fall in the right place. I am 5 feet tall and the coat was cut to fit tall women. This could also be why the hip area didn't fit - it was probably falling too low. Still, I think widening the hip area could help the coats fit better on a wider range of women. All of the Arcteryx coats that I tried on seemed to have this issue. It would really be nice to have petite sizing - but please don't just shorten the coats and think that will work - the length of the arm holes, sleeves, and torso need to be adjusted too. Ultimately I was really disappointed. The coat is attractive, well made and would have been perfect for my hiking trip, but it unfortunately didn't fit right.

The jacket itself is mostly really good in terms of fit and insulation and weatherproofing, but the cuffs on the sleeves drive me absolutely crazy every single day. They're cinched super small and there's no option to have them be more open, they're sewn like that. It's impossible to wear a watch on your wrist and still wear this jacket. It makes the whole jacket really awkward for layering or wearing gloves. It's so bad I'm considering paying to alter it to cut the cuffs off. I even have tiny wrists but I still hate the cuffs. I'm never buying another jacket with cuffs like this again.

Very disappointed in how little warmth this puffy has - seems as though it's just another Arcteryx product that has taken a nosedive in quality. I can no longer confidently recommend this puffy (or this entire brand) for backcountry use - Arcteryx is an urban lifestyle brand now. It's only redeeming quality is the fit, which is pretty decent for an athletic/lean build. Other than that, it's nothing to write home about.
For reference, I wore this resort skiing with a merino baselayer, a fleece, and a shell, and was still on the cold side (temp was hovering around -2).

I was enthralled by the new Yukon color of the classic atom jacket and purchased with hopes it might replace my aging atom jacket. Unfortunately the fit is much changed and the jacket no longer fits my shorter torso. I'm not looking for this jacket to go past my bum, as I have proper coats designed for that. I recognize there are taller gals out there than I but I really miss being able to wear Arcteryx. I ended up returning the jacket unfortunately.

This is my 3rd purchase of this jacket. Like the previous reviews, fit was much much better before. I originally bought my usual size a medium (I'm 5.8, 125lbs) and way too big. Then repurchased the small and it just doesn't have the same fit. Sleeves are short and jacket is boxy. I'll keep it as it is nice for shelf seasons, but not thrilled with the changes. On top of that, quality seems diminished. Ver small run in fabric already and worn twice. Not worth sending back, just overall disappointed.

This jacket is much colder than Atoms from years before. A very noticeable drop in quality, loose threads and very noticeably not as warm as past versions. I was in the mountains and SOOOO glad I had another layer when usually at -10 Atom is all I need. Disappointed in the changes. I'm a avalanche educator and depend on my gear when outdoors.

I have 3 Atom Hoodies from about 5 years ago and I love the fit these have. I ordered a new "revised" Atom Hoodie and was disappointed that it has been so changed. While an extra small fits, the style has become a few inches longer and has lost the stylish, athletic look of previous Atom Hoodies. The fabric also doesn't seem to be the same quality. I was so looking forward to this Hoodie, but unfortunately I am returning it.

Arc'teryx Atom hoodies used to be designed to be stylish and athletic. I own three of them and decided it was time for a new one. I love the Techno colour but the new pattern design for the jacket is completely off. I am still an XSM but the jacket is at least two inches longer than the previous style, and the collar is larger and sloppy. The sleeves are still narrow and okay but the longer length and the cheaper material leave the jacket looking inexpensive and boring. I think it is a Mountain Hardware jacket with an Arc'teryx name. I was so looking forward to having another beautiful Arc'teryx hoodie but sadly am returning this one.

The new design, material, is all wrong. Im size S and had to buy L because even M is way too short. It is not like it used to be. It is very thin, plastic feeling. Huge disappointment. This was the easiest jacket for me and my husband, but with new quality we wont purchase again.

I purchased this item at the store, wearing a sweatshirt underneath. I got a medium because the body was pretty fitted (I am a 6-8 or medium in most brands). When I finally wore the item for several hours, wearing a t-shirt underneath, I noticed the longer/wider sleeves ended up bunching together near elbows, making it very sweat-prone and uncomfortable to bend. I was unable to adjust this because the wrist band is so tight, so you cannot roll up the sleeves. I asked customer service if I could exchange for a smaller size, however they said once it's worn and tags are taken off, there is nothing they can do. Unfortunate for such a pricey jacket that cannot be worn without discomfort.

I have 2 other Atom LT jackets from previous years, and have consistently worn a size Large. Purchased a new one with the updates and am not pleased with the fit. Either my size Large was mis-labeled, or the new version has significantly shorter sleeves and a much narrower mid section (I run ultras, I have no boobs, yet this barely zips and fits more like a mans version).
I'm 6' tall, and the fit of the sleeves/shoulders/length of the Arcteryx gear has why I keep coming back...but if the clothes continue to shorten/shrink- It might be time to switch brands.

Save you money--don't buy this hoody. Within the first 6 months the zipper snagged on the material and when I pulled it--it was damaged. The material is paper thin--and even brushing against branches rips it. Very poor design and comparable to real quality technical clothing. I wear an ortovox hoody I paid way less for that I bought at the same time way more and it is way better. This has been sitting in a fix it bin for a long time. Lousy. Customer service person said it is wear and tear and it is not a stand alone.

This is the third Atom Hoody I've bought and am SO disappointed. Is this the quality of Arcteryx that I can expect now? The zipper "catches" at the neck, not to the point where the fabric gets caught but does that come later with use? I've purchased over a dozen Arcteryx products for my family over the years and have always been very happy with the products and customer service. I am surprised and saddened by this latest purchase.

I don't understand the positive reviews for this jacket. I find it to have little warmth and it feels like a cheap jacket from an outlet store. The insulation is flimsy and the zippers are ok but don't feel nearly as sturdy as competitors (many who also have two-way zippers). I don't know what I'm missing--I really have tried and wanted to love this jacket but it'll just take up room in my closet. And it's not about the money--I'm happy to spend on a great jacket, it's about quality.
I'm in marketing and know all of the Q&A you see in places about "why does Arc'teryx cost so much" and other things that talk about the amazingness of Arc'teryx are extremely likely to have been planted by the brand's communications and digital teams, but maybe it's me. I'm a quality snob and this is just a huge miss in my book.

I got this to replace my old atom hoody from a few years back. I really don't like the new fit. I prefer the older athletic style over the new length. I think the worst part of it is the oversized/baggy hood. The old hood was perfect - low profile and fit well. Even when the hoods tightened up it fits badly. Not happy with the new style :(

Not sure if other users feel the same way but when I wear my Garmin watch on backcountry tours and cold mountain bike rides I need to sometimes look at my watch and have to remove my jacket to do so. If the cuffs were stretchier or didn't have that tight band then I'd consider buying another jacket but ya, for now, I'll have to look elsewhere. I suppose the products appeal more to the masses and those people maybe aren't wearing fitness watches and doing high output activities...?

I'm writing this review on behalf of my wife as I am frustrated with Arc'teryx products.
My wife has this hoody and the zipper fails annually on it. Between the both of us we own about 7-8 articles of high end/expensive pieces of Arc'teryx gear. All of our coats/shells see zipper failures almost annually. And when do the zippers fail? When you need the kit for the intended purpose. Yes, they have a great zipper repair/replacement, but the turnaround for repairs can be anywhere from 1 month to 3 months depending on the time of year.
The zippers on my 5 year old jeans see more use and have yet to fail.
