I used the sizing chart to order my size. I ordered large and it runs large. It's perfect size to wear over bulky sweatshirts but I'm looking to layer over base layer and under a shell so I need a medium. From sizes under medium each size goes up 2 inches to the next size. Medium to large goes up 3 inches. For reference I'm 38B, or 36C. 165 lbs, size 8/10. I'm a size medium in most tops.

I have two older models of this vest and wear them almost everyday! Perfect layer to add or take off that isn't bulky and can still be very professional.

I never really considered myself a vest person until I tried the Atom Vest. I tend to run quite warm during high-output activities, and this vest is the perfect midlayer for me, whether I'm cycling, skiing, or just hanging out. I appreciate the sleek look of the Black color.
The collar is a bit tall, but I don't mind it; it offers extra protection when I need my midlayer to keep me warm.

Great fit & cut, very comfortable
Slim fit but roomy enough in bust, perhaps slightly more fitted at hips
Overall fits true to size

I wear this vest for EVERYTHING. Everyday, running, fishing, hunting, hiking - anything. It's lightweight, adds some warmth and does it without bulk. It's also a flattering fit.

Great for hikes! I am also using it as an extra layer under the Jacket.

I own the "old" atom vest, and as I wore it 300 from 365 days I decided to order a second one in another colour. Yes, this one is different with the high collar, in the beginning I was irritated but the collar adapted soon to my neck - and I don't have to wear a scarf for cycling now. It fits slightly larger than the old one. As it touches the skin on the neck I think I will have to wash it more frequently, I hope it will survive long.

Just purchased my new vest, roomy enough to wear a couple layers underneath. Purchased the moonlit colour, very happy with it.

I like the Atom vest as an extra layer for hiking and camping. It's lightweight and adds a bit of insulation without overheating. However, while the fit says "fitted", I find that it runs large so I wish that I had sized down. As other reviews have mentioned, the collar is really high, so I usually wear it unzipped a bit.

So disappointed this blue doesn't continue inside. Some may like the contrasting collar look, but I wanted all blue. I have two black ones, and they're 100% black inside. There are no pictures on the website showing it partly unzipped, which is how many of us will wear it. Sending it back.

I own a previous model of this vest and I absolutely love it, so much that it is beginning to show wear and i figured it was time to buy another one as backup since i often wear this vest in a professional setting. I prefer the collar length of the previous model, especially when wearing this vest as a casual piece and not zipped up.

I have this vest and the proton, and the proton wins BIG TIME. This vest main complaint is the collar. I have no idea why it has to be so tall and so wide. It's annoying because it nearly covers my mouth, so it's hard to talk to people if I'm wearing it for everyday wear, and it looks ridiculous to be that high. I try to fold it down a lot but it doesn't stay down. It's also a very wide neck that extends forwards again, why on earth? Someone might say the height is for warmth, but the fact that it gapes in the front due to the width cancels this out.
The proton, in contrast, has a normal-sized neck (so much better) and the proton lining is softer. It's also a slightly warmer vest at rest, even though it's barely thicker than this one if not equal in weight. The chest pocket of the proton is also amazing, as it fits my phone. Hands down a better vest than this one.

This is my second atom vest and it is a go to item for me in the fall, spring and as a layering item in the winter. The lightweight insulation provides just enough core warmth under a puffy in the winter and takes the chill off in the spring and fall. The vest packs small, dries quickly and has very few catchment points when wearing a harness, backpack or other layers. Also works well as an everyday vest in the cooler months. The pockets are ample and zip closed.

Nice weight for between seasons or layering. Love the light aqua colour. This fit is boxier and a bit wider than the 2 previous versions I own. The collar is also taller than I would like and quite wide. I am returning this vest

I got this as a gift because I wore my other one out after 5 years full timing it on the road. The neck, or collar is hideous on this new version. Why so high? I donated mine to the thrift shop.

Bought this for daily wear as well as another layer for my outdoor activities, and found that while the quality seems to be what I'd expect, the fit is really off. I found that compared to my other Arc'teryx tops/jackets that this runs large. I wish that I would have sized down to a small! I wear a medium in all other styles, but this is gigantic. Wish I had not removed tags and worn it a bit before noticing how much bigger it was than expected. Nice for a light vest layer, but size a full size down at least. Boxy, large.

Ive had two other iterations of this vest from years past but lost mine and snagged a new one this season. I was super confused when I tried it on. Not only is it way less soft than the old one- almost a plasticky, crinkly feel- but it is HUGE. I double checked the tags to make sure Id gotten a womens because it was such a noticeable difference. Not only that but its a solid 2 longer than the old one so its almost a tunic on my 53 frame instead of hip length. I bought it on prodeal and am super kicking myself as I cant return it.

The Atom Vest has been a staple of mine for over 12 years and I have purchased at least 3 of them after I have worn them to a nub. When I bought this revised vest I thought I would like the higher collar, but it is too high. It really comes up to my mouth, so only does it look unstylish, but also not functional. I also, am not sure I like to longer length, but I'm also only 5'1", so I'm guessing most people would like this change. All in all, it is still a great vest, but I wish they would find a compromise on the collar length and also the length of the vest. I use to buy XS, but with this new design and revised sizing I had to exchange for an XXS.

I had the previous version and wore it nearly everyday. I lost it at an airport and I was devistated! My husband bought me a replacement and I wanted to love it but like others have said the collar is weird big and it feel longer in the torso.

The quality and construction meet expectations. The fit is not flattering or functional. It's too baggy, especially when layering, I prefer a more fitted piece.
