This is subjective but they just feel kind of weird around the middle of the foot. Like there is a ball underneath. Otherwise they work great as a hiking or running shoe!

I like the updated fit in this model with the widened toe box as I have wide feet. That being said, they are not the widest shoe by far but I manage. I got a men's size to accommodate this. Right out of the box they are squishy and comfortable with a nice bounce. I use them for light hiking, walking to work and sometimes during work as I'm on my feet all day. The traction isn't bad in the winter but are great on pavement and off trail on uneven terrain. The lace garage is a nice touch for trail runners or if you're hiking and want to secure potential snaggy laces.

Owned the Norvan LD 2's and thought they were awesome. Absolutely beat the snot out of them. Bought the Norvan LD 3's as a replacement and so far live up to the prior gens feats but not a huge fan of the extra foam. I use these shoes for scrambling and long days in the back country around alongside runs and everyday activities in the Chugach range and Valdez Alaska and have yet to have them fail me. Over 50 miles on them and they look good as new still.

Ran around 150 miles total - including the second half of a 100 miler. Traction on everything other than slimy wood is great and have total confidence. Cushioning is fine for very long distances and protects feet from uneven ground for hours. Shoe is very stable. Fits true to size and width is adequate in the toe box. I have narrow feet and need to wear thicker socks with this to help with midfoot hold. Build quality is amazing - this is an absolute tank. Shows virtually no wear anywhere on the shoe and I can trash shoes easily.
I wouldn't take it more than 50 miles though for a few reasons. None of these are deal breakers but worth noting:
1. The front of the shoe needs to be a few mm higher it sits too low and can feel your toes when climbing.
2. Need softer material around the ankle and side of ankle (i.e. where you step into). I can't wear thin socks without getting irritated around the side of the ankle.
3. The laces are not grippy enough unless very careful to cinch down.
4. The toebox is fairly generous but the material isn't stretchy enough around the little toes so when toes do swell they feel confined and this causes problems.
5. Little squeaky running on roads
6. Water drainage is acceptable but not as good as others
7. I suspect may have problems in very hot conditions with breathability but not tested.

Big upgrade from LD 2s, no heal slippage or mesh tearing & I'm 100k in!

I usually go between 9-9.5 women's, and with all previous runners, hikers, and approach shoes from multiple different companies have been a 9.5. These shoes are big! The toe box is quite large and I always thought I had relatively wide feet.
I've done two runs in them and no blisters (I am prone to blisters) but unsure with the sizing. They do make my socks slide down in the back a little bit. Wish I had gone smaller but couldn't be bothered dealing with a return.
Love the color and the laces, will definitely buy size 9 next time I order shoes.

I bought this a week or two ago and the color is really nice, the shoe feels comfy and great for running. The most important piece for me was the toe box is way to wide for my narrow feet. So I will be looking for a narrower shoe.

I ordered in sprint black and was shocked to find that the manufacturer has changed the advertised color way. The shoes have a yellow sole and not the off/white sole it is shown with on the webstore.

I was really excited for the new Norvans! I have the LD 2 which I've loved but thought a revision could be cool. So this version, the toebox fits a bit different. I tried them on in store and though my previous size (9.5) felt like it had way too much space in the front, or around the foot. Just didn't feel right. So I got the 9, a half size smaller, and in store it felt like it had enough room. But, sadly, they're not working out. Breaking them in has not been super comfortable on the sole, and then in addition to that I find my toe hitting the front of the shoe. Not sure what the solution is - maybe it's just my foot shape isn't fitting with the design. The materials are great though.

Originally bought for hiking/travel. The sizing was spot on and it seemed like a good quality shoe. I have several pairs of the norvan 2 that I really love. These were much wider in the base and just didn't have the same feel to me. Rather the being light they felt bulky and heavy.

I really like this shoe, it's comfortable, has a nice rocker (maybe too much) and good cushion. Good for slightly wide feet, nice room in the toebox. However, the insole is awful. It's so thin that it slides back as you run. Customer service was unhelpful so I replaced it with a Saucony insole. Now the shoes are great, but as they came they were unusable to me.

I want to love these shoes - the ride is really great, but even after ~100kms the plasticy water barrier layer (that keeps in more water than it keeps out) is giving me horrendous blisters on the outsides of my big and pinky toes. You can feel how rough it is on the inside. Unfortunately I can't run more than a few kms before the problems start. These are the first running shoes I have had in decades to give me blisters.

I love my the LD2 and wanted to love the LD3 but the high ankle cuff of the LD3 bites into my ankle bones, unlike the LD2. Had to send back for this reason, too bad. I had the high cuff ankle bite problem with the Aerios FL too.

I bought these in anticipation of a 50+ mile ultra in the arctic tundra. As my training runs progressed leading up to the race, I decided against running in them. They have very poor breathability -- trap both heat and moisture - This is the recipe for discomfort and blistering. Which leads me to the main gripe -- the material of the upper. Across the board, they are simply overbuilt. The materials are not forgiving or flexible enough to go long. The meshes are too heavy, stiff, and unforgiving to allow you to feel light and fast which is what you need on a 10 hour run. These might be good for hiking mildly technical trails in cooler conditions where shoe breathability is not of paramount importance, but aside from that application they are a poor match for the job. FWIW I ran the race in the Salomon S/Lab Pulsar, and it performed beautifully.

Comfy shoes but they need to work on the mesh part. It is so weak.

Upper mesh tore after using a little over a year. Shoes cost way too much only last that long. That is unfortunate because the sole is comfortable and extra grippy, mesh is very breathable but doesn't hold up even on light trail hikes which is all I used these for.

I have worn and been happy with this line of shoes for some time. So when I got my newest pair, I was pleased to find that they fit and felt like my other pairs. However, when I got back from my first run there was a huge scuff down the whole left side of the shoe. I didn't fall or run into anything on this run. My last pair, which I am still wearing, has been to the jungles of Panama and through tons of cities. They look better than this new pair after one run. The quality of materials is astonishingly low. I will be amazed if these shoes last a month before falling apart. When I contacted Arc'teryx support, they said it was normal wear and tear. I love their gear, but this makes me wary.

The LD2 was trail run perfection. The LD3 misses the mark entirely, from the excessive amount of cushion, to horrendous "upgrade" of liner material, to addition of unnecessary foam inside the shoe. If you liked the LD2, prepare to be supremely disappointed by the overbuilt redesign.
