A lot of people said they weren't a fan of this tongue I didn't find it to be bad at all. I really liked how this shoe feels on my foot. Laces are a tad bit long for my liking But overall comfortable!

They are great and much improved from the Torrin 5. The dusty teal feel true to size although when I tried the gray in the same size, they felt too small.

This was my first time trying the Torin, and I loved how soft the cushioning was and the heel cup was nice and secure on my foot too. Since I haven't worn previous Torin models, I can't speak to the tongue issues that many had in the past, but I had no issues with this version's tongue. As someone with a wider (but not extremely wide) foot, I appreciated the extra room the toebox offered me, but I did feel like my foot had a little bit too much room.

I've also been waiting for them to bring back the style of the torin 4.5 . This shoe is very similar and i'm loving them . The tongue is definitely stiff and doesn't feel good on the ankles, but I've been trying to break them in and there getting better each day . I think they eventually will be soft .

I love the Torin 5, and it works perfectly for my needs. I have purchased all that I can find of that version as the reviews for 6 and 7 are not all that great. I took a chance on the 6 as most reviews focused on the tongue, which didn't bother me in the 5s, so I assumed the fit of the shoe was very similar to the 5s. The reviews for the 7 mentioned the fit being an issue so I wanted to avoid that.
The fit is drastically different in the Torin 6--it is a more snug fitting shoe. I don't see that it is something that would benefit from sizing up--it is just designed differently. The issue is that many people buy Altra Torin to have room in the toe box, so to have a snug fitting shoe doesn't make any sense. It is tighter in the midfoot as well which is bothersome, again because the issues that cause people to buy this shoe typically require their shoes not to hug the foot too much. I found a pair of 5s on a reseller site, and then after that I will have to find another brand and shoe--which is very disappointing.

The tongue feels so short if you lace all the way up. The laces tie about 3 mm away from the top. Weird

Purchased two pairs of this shoe a month ago. I had to return one pair due to manufacturing defect and the second pair already has damage to the heal counter due to rubbing.
I own a pair of the previous version and they are built like a tank with no problems after multiple years (grass cutting shoes after retired from running)

I love the Torin 6 wides - great for running, walking and gym workouts and fits my Hobbit feet perfectly. But there's a flaw in the toe guard area - it creases after a weeks. Usually it's fine and I don't feel it. But with my latest pair, it creased so much that it dug into my big toe and I had to give up the shoes before it was time to replace them.

Still a decent shoe, but I miss the old, wide toe box. The toe box on this shoe is noticeably slimmer and it squishes my toes together. Proprioception is worse, and toes feel uncomfortable after wearing for too long. PLEASE CHANGE THE TOE BOX BACK TO THE WIDE, TRULY FOOT-SHAPED VERSION!!

These are very average. They're not as good as old versions but they're not as bad as the newest ones. They're not as wide as they used to be and the tongue is super annoying and falls down in the shoe all the time. There's no hole to lace to the tongue to keep it up and in place. Also, they're stiffer than previous versions. This isn't terrible but they take longer to break in. The colors are nice and the cushion is solid. I really hope they make the wide wider next time and fix the tongue! Not a huge fan overall but not terrible enough to send back.

I wear an eight wide or an 8 and 1/2 in the long peak, even a nine wide in the shoe is too narrow. It fit okay, but it is pulling apart where the soul meets the shoe and there's also this weird thing that my little toe gets caught up in for the lining. Very disappointed because I need the extra cushion some days. And the men's wide doesn't start small enough.
I'm coming

Bought this model to wear to work because I'm on my feet all day in the medical field and have the hiking version. Bought the end of June and both heels have worn down with holes and now I get blisters.

These style of shoes with the normal foot shape have changed my life. I got to where I was in pain every single day. My toes were all almost touching without shoes. I've been wearing Altras for over a year now and my toes no longer touch and the daily pain is gone. The only thing I wish is that they lasted longer than four or 5 months. I mean these things are EXPENSIVE. Money is hard to come by and I have no choice but to buy this brand of shoe. I love them, but for the price, they need to be more durable.

The shoe itself is incredible. Comfortable with a great fit. The only downside is actually something I never really had to consider with any other pair of running shoes--- the tongue. The tongue is hard, plastic-like, and deeply uncomfortable; it digs into the front of your foot and leaves awful scratches. I finally cut them down and taped gauze on the remaining part. Not how I want to make this shoe comfortable enough to wear.

I really liked this shoe bc I felt well protected but not constricted. I've never liked feeling like my shoe pushes me one way or another or holds my toes in. This shoe really feels like I'm walking on the flat ground, but am not slamming my heels into the ground. However. I do feel like this shoe has worn down so quickly. I think I've put maybe 50 miles on this pair, and the mesh is giving at the pinky and some of the sole is coming loose. On that note, I'm not sure if this shoe would be great for marathon training.

I love the shoe however it started to wear down pretty fast and a hole appeared where my left pinky toe is. I read the review by and Elle and I had the exact same experience as her. This is my second pair I have purchased and was just about to buy another pair because the last ones wore down so fast. I love them but I can't afford to keep buying them at such a quick turn around. I had the torn 5 before the 6 and the toe came apart at the seam. Like right at the top where it connects to the material.

The arch support here is a little better than in Torino Lux. My usual size is 8, and these were 8,5 and too big. They also look clunky. The toe box is wide but in the wrong place for my foot.

The shoe is fine. Zero drop, comfortable. Nice shoe for a transition from elevated heel Nikes that I was in before. Tongue is an issue (and judging from other reviews I'm not alone in it) - it's too long and too sharp that unless you wear crew socks you will get your ankles cut up. Only complaint really. I'm only on week two and about 40 miles in on these so too soon to tell but I'm afraid the durability may not be superb - let's see (however if it's softer and more natural foam and fit I would expect that something had to give and it's just a small price to pay)

Love how the shoes feel on my feet; extremely comfortable with ample room for my wide feet, but the tongue rubs on my lower leg/upper ankle, making the shoes unbearable to wear. The tongue material is extremely rough, and the tongue itself is too long. My suggestion is to lose the "advanced tongue design", and go back to a standard tongue.

I love Altras and have exclusively run in them since 2016. Unfortunately, my latest pairs (specifically speaking of the Torin 6) have not lasted as long as they should. The knit upper is not durablethe seam started to pull off the shoe within a month or so. There's also a piece inside the shoe on the outside that has pulled loose, so I have to put my foot into the super very intentionally to avoid folding that piece and poking my foot uncomfortably. The laces are laughably long and stretchy (while the laces on the Lone Peaks are laughably short). I will continue to buy Altras, but why the constant big changes in new iterations? Find the version with the best reviews and stick with that for a couple of years at least.

I only use these shoes for work, I've only had them 2 months and they already have holes in them and I have had to super glue the rubber on the soles. But they are comfortable

Hi,
I have bought several pairs of this shoe. Unfortunately, my left side still feels tighter than I would prefer (I have bunions on both feet). Is there any suggestions on what I should do to get a better fit with my left shoe? I would love to hear from you.
Thank you.

Honestly would have no complaints if it werent for the horrific injuries cause by the tongue. Everyone says it was "fixed" with this model but from the reviews clearly not. I've had to cut the tongue or wear long socks to get through my runs. None of the other shoes have this problem so I don't really understand why it continues to be a problem.
